Excitingly, now that Euclid has dealt with these issues, it's first pretty science images on 7th November 2023. Video on the channel to explain and explore them as soon as they are public! 🥳🥳

Thanks for the update!
Bummer about the problems but great to hear about about all the arduous work being done to fix Euclid. I'm always impressed with what us tiny, hairless primates can achieve when we work together.
Hopefully, all future telescopes will learn from these issues 👍👍👍
I'm so amazed by the super-fine engineering that goes into these deep space observatories. It sounds like we came very close to damaging the usability of the telescope because of these tiny errors. I'm glad the telescope team was able to correct for all of these errors to get new science for us.
Thanks for the concise update. 👍
Your t-shirt is cool
Great t-shirt 😉🌌
That loopy guidance photo has more going on than what they describe. The background is not loopy, and if that background is just static, parts of the static make linear dot trails.
My astrophotographs be like: 6:57
Why is a Euclidean Telescope being used to survey non Euclidean spacetime? :-)
compared to absolute flawless startup of jwst, I'm both understanding that this mission is smaller, and sad that less effort was spent checking stuff to work correctly

Commissioning pains are part of every program of this bold scope. There are brilliant people working this mission and they'll figure out all this stuff and more. Can't wait for 7 November and the first results.

JWST's startup wasn't flawless, though. They didn't anticipated getting dinged so much by miniscule meteorites so they've had to make adjustments to where it's normally pointing, which is away from its forward motion. Also, there was the problem with a component in MIRI.
Lets hope it can be sorted out with updates chris 🚀🛰🛰🌙🌞🌞🌞
