As a Brit, we didn't know until recenty either. Countdown, I don't mean to condescend (condescend means talk down to you ) is this twee, dry afternoon gameshow. 8 out of 10 cats is this irrelevent parlour gameshow. Someone at channel4 decided to mash up presenters and hosts for a charity stunt and this jewel came out of it. Watch Never Mind the Buzzcocks (Mark Lemar years - it got a bit shitty once Simon Amstel took the reigns with sight gags and set up goofs, then it had guest hosts who just used it as an ego boost. Noel Fielding did inject some botox in there, but go watch ) and Have I got News for You?

I personally don't really think that was all that funny; it was something which would make me grin, but not outright laugh.

To watch Sean Locke in these clips today is moving. He so enjoyed playing off his fellow comedians, bringing so much laughter to us all. I was simply gutted to hear of his death yesterday. Condolences to his family and friends from a fan in Canada. He will be remembered fondly.

I mean, I haven't watched any of it myself so I can't comment but I've personally always thought of Lee as the kind of comedian that does his best when he's bouncing off others. That's why Would I Lie To You and other game shows such as this always seem to be a great fit for him.

It's possible ot be quick witted and stupid, all it takes is years as a standup in some of the roughest clubs around. I'm not saying that he isn't clever, only that it's possible to be stupid and quick if given the right experience.

@@SigmundJaehn I don't think so. The reason his laugh sounds like that is because most people make the noise breathing out, and he makes the noise breathing in. When you laugh really hard it can mess with your breathing and the sounds you make. I think what was happening in that clip was that he was doing that thing where you're laughing but it's relatively silent, and then you might snort or something. The typical way of laughing is very natural for our vocal cords, etc. so it isn't surprising that he would occasionally make that noise, even if it's not his immediate natural laugh. I could be wrong, of course, but I think it's real.

God I've loved watching these guys for years and years now, Sean being gone now is beyond heartbreaking. Beyond funny and a great guy to watch during my years of college and uni. It made my lonely times away from family and family a whole lot better watching the show. A Legend as always. Rest in Peace and thank you for the great laughs over the years. You'll be missed, incredibly so.

Miles is just perfect for this show, the reactions are so genuine, he's a comedy fan as much as he is an actor!

he has 2 laughts. A light laugh which is his donkey sounding laugh, and his hard laugh when he can't really catch his breath in order to do the donkey laugh. Most people have different laughs, for light joking, almost polite laughing, and deep 'belly laughs"

I can't remember the show, but they had a guest on a show Jimmy was on who knew him way back when and went off on a mini-rant at him about his laugh saying 'you never used to laugh like that...' So yeah, I think it's fake.

How exactly? Both countries produce every style of comedy under the sun and some comedies are written by American AND British collaborating. These days there is no such thing as American and British humour. It's irrelevant

@@crusaderxavier Nope. I'm British and like both and since the advent of the Internet the line is now non existent as people have the means to watch any show they want now. The only thing that can be called British humour now is making a local reference that Americans might not get but other than that humour is pretty universal now
