How do you make the Falange on a pillow case stiff so it stands up rather than flops down?

heres a silly question. I have standard shams that came with my quilt, but they look very small on the queen sized bed. How do I fix this?

Thanks for the inquiry. The 1st thing I would do is measure the sham (without the pillow in it). If it is a standard sham it should measure 20" Tall x 26" W when flat, and flanges (if applicable) do not need to be measured. Standard shams should look just fine on a queen bed. Queen size shams are some what of an aberration, however a queen sham would measure 20" x 30". Many bedding company do not make a queen size sham. If the std sham is not 20 x 26, then your sham is not the correct size. If they are 20 x 26, then take a look at the pillow insert, it is not filled properly it may make your pillow look limp and possibly too small. To properly measure the pillows size, measure from cord to cord or seam to seam. Keep in mind the insert is 3 dimensional so use a tape measure vs a stiff yard stick that will not conform to the arch in the pillows surface. Let me know what you find. Also, if your pillows are under-stuffed, get some new ones. Use feather (vs poly) and use a good one that is nice and full. We sell them and they are reasonably priced. I have pillow that has a tear down the middle of one side and i want to replace it. I want to take the center material inside of it out that is like cotton innerds and put it in a new body like...what do i need to get?

How do i insert a sham

Typically from the back of the sham, there is often a flap that hides the opening in the back. But you would stuff in the same way as a pillowcase.

I've never had a pillow case without a flap! But only one with a flange.

Some pillowcases do have a flap - not too many. Some find the flap annoying which is why ours do not have one...
