    I wish the game gave you the same hook counter states for killer like they do survivor. I honestly try not to actively tunnel but sometimes you just forget or have multiple survivors being the same person. It would be a nice quality of life change for most of the killer mains who really try their best to spread pressure and not tunnel someone out of a match.

    It really baffled me to learn that most people don't play both sides when I got into the game. I'm definitely a killer main, but I play survivor a good bit when friends or my girlfriend want to play. I'm not saying it makes you immune to being tilted, but it's a lot easier to understand why person does x or y when you've experienced it firsthand. IG in the theme of the thread, I wish more people would just play the other side a while so that they can understand why people play the way they do sometimes.

The body block when you purposefully don't tunnel them is also true. Survivors really do take advantage of killers being nice and wonder why they don't do it more lol.

    But it’s absolutely nothing compared to being held hostage in a game by a killer. Slugging, forcing you to crawl to hatch they’re standing on to slam it closed, waiting until you’re almost bled out to hook, following you as a slug. That happening once is worth 1000 flashlight clicks. Also I’d rather get t-bagged by everyone than be tunnelled and camped out the game.

  • @alexflorek6527

    @alexflorek6527

    10 ай бұрын

    @@GG-kn2se Why do you bring this up? That's another problem with the community, don't try to make it look like you have it worse. Both sides have problems and, while getting bled out is tedious indeed, it might even have to do with how you played so let's look at 2 cases: 1. You were being "toxic" and brought it upon yourself, so deal with it. 2. You played chill and received that treatment for no reason. Its kind of the same as the original scenario. Survivor has to wait longer when being held hostage but, as killer it requires way more going out of your way to ensure the survivors have a good time and feel the game is fair for them. If you do all that just out of PURE kindness and compassion to make the game feel better for everyone and then they spit in your face its a way worse FEELING and, don't pretend you can't just get on your phone or do something else for 4 minutes when getting bled out. And if its the feeling that you didn't desrve being bled out that bothers you, well then, again, a killer goes way more out of their way to get 8 hooks with 0 kills than you think (when they actually do it, that is) so then you could really understand how shit that must feel for them too. Its not about the teabags or clicks its about the fact that you did something you weren't supposed to do because you wanted to be nice and put yourself through a way harder game than needed, just for the survivors' sake who then disrespect the shit out of you, and in cases even pretend they stomped you, when you clearly didn't play as hard as you could so they can have fun.

Its not really the hooked person’s fault their team can’t make proper prioritizing. But there’s literally nothing wrong with going back to hook if you have suspicion or reason to believe there’s a survivor there trying to get unhook. I had a game on Hawkins were i got destroyed, and it made understand the difficulties of killer. Also playing Jason in f13 helped me understand that survivors are just the power role in most asyms, and these games depend on the balance of the 2 roles feeling fair. This idea was reinforced when i played evil dead which is a nightmare to play demon. Most people aren't trying to be malicious. They just want to enjoy the game. Wether they play optimally, or not.

    The biggest issue I tend to have during games is that I just can't remember everything that happened within that game. To much is happening throughout the game for me to remember, for instance, if I just hooked this person, or where the gen that I heard was almost done was at again. I'm not a good enough killer or survivor to be as lenient as I would like to be either. I'm by no means a terrible killer or survivor, but I am not nearly as good as a lot of people either. Edit: Also, on of the biggest things I see; just because you want to farm, doesn't mean the other side does as well. I might farm every now and then if there's a DC or something at the start of the match, but that doesn't mean I'm going to every time. Sometimes I just want to play a normal game when you want to farm, or maybe even just get the match over with as quickly as possible and move on to the next one if there was a DC. Edit 2 (because why not): Another one that I don't really tend to see too often, just because I'm running meta perks doesn't automatically mean I'm gonna tryhard my ass off to win, sometimes I forget to change perks, or even just don't feel like changing them.

  • @alexflorek6527

    @alexflorek6527

    Really nice points. Farming: Its really fun how survivors get mad if you don't farm with them after an early dc or suicide but, as you said not only you don't always just want to farm, but you're also kind of doing them a favor when the game just ends in 2 minutes and everyone moves on to next imo or, sometimes you can have a challenge that requires you to get kills, its really not out of sweat or malicious intent for the most part. Also I'd like to add to the tryhard thing: Its not just that you sometimes forget to switch perks. for me when I have very strong perks, the way I use them depends on how the game goes, what killer and map it is etc. Let's say I have otr, I'm not gonna aggressively bodyblock a Trapper with it but, I might try to use it aggressively against an alch ring Blight bc every second I buy for my team is precious and, the killer is clearly ready to handle it, heck it might even be a MUST if I want to put up a fight against that to begin with. Its sort of like what Scott mentioned about adepting your "sweat level" or playstyle on the fly. I think that goes the for stronger perks and their use, not just for playstyles.

Instead of 90 seconds sometimes the first and second generator pop at the 40-50 sec mark, while you were chasing a survivor and hooked him, ans you are like, how? and when you check the lobby at the end you see they got a bunch of gen related builds, then you are like, oh I see. They stick to gens instead because they can finish all five and leave before the killer can realistically do anything about it. Like I said, extremely rare. Most people have probably never played a match like that before.

    @@Ben_of_Milam_Music well I didn't know that to be honest, I have seen plenty survs do gens while their friends are hooked and then save or trade last second, I guess that could also be gen rushing as well. But anyway aside from that, wouldn't you call a team, "a gen rushing team" if they finished all gens at the 3 minute mark? and then when you look at the lobby you see they had a build for it. Because I have had that since last patch, and its not like I've been afk as killer, but survivors split up and got a good build for soloing gens. Which is totally fair, but I call that gen rushing as well.

    Home Sweet Home Online added a mode where 4 survivors play against 4 other survivors, and completing objectives can turn one of them into a killer for a time. If DBD could somehow invent a seasonal crazy 5-player game mode that works in that way, only permitting people to play as killer if they've somehow earned it, that could be really fun and reduce the "Us vs them" element during that gamemode. Another point: Many players, even streamers, overestimate their ability to communicate with their opposition in a memey way once the game is "over". Most people can't discern "Repair the generator", "do the point taunt at Victor", "boop the snoot", "I want to 1v1 you", "You can have hatch", "You can't have hatch but you can have the exit gates". When you get frustrated people don't acknowledge the order, keep in mind you're using something less precise than morse. On the original prompt about 8 hooks; I've been playing a few meme builds, and the funny thing is I mentally prepare myself for people teabagging at the exit, and thus don't care. I play enough survivor that I at least understand it's nice to burn off frustration winning against a Ghost Face that crouched in every chase.

    I actually absolutely love that my knowledge of both sides of this game helps me whenever I'm vsing either side. The back and forth between killer and surv in chase is what really makes this game shine for me, and it's a shame that so much of it devolves into people just getting mad and being shitty to each other when they could just be enjoying that one side or another made a sick play. I get that sometimes it can feel annoying to get outplayed, I've been there, but man I've also ruined so many of my own games tripping up after getting tilted. Sometimes people need to just chill the fuck out lol. The only thing I actually want to add to the whole "killers don't pay attention to survivors that are not helping the team out" thing is that while I do try to do that, sometimes it does get by me and people have come at me for it. I've also just had people straight up lying about others in my games on both sides. Salty people claiming that someone didn't do anything, but the scores or my own experiences in the game told me otherwise. Just worth mentioning that sometimes people are just being bitchy.

For example, I tend to play a lot of M1 killers and I tend to be really bad with these killers on maps like Springwood. Knowing how bad I am at Springwood I tend to play more aggressively on maps like that otherwise I know I'll quickly lose. The tunneling isn't personal or malicious, it's just that I know that certain maps aren't fair to certain killers in light of my skill, so I need to tip the scales in my favor a bit by tunneling someone out early.

If they're god gamers in chase and gens are popping left right and center, I'm really just fine with them wrapping the game up quickly, gg go next. Sure if you wanna mess around a bit instead of sitting on gens that's fine, give me a chance to make a comeback, but sometimes it can feel like drawing out an already annoying game even further and rubbing salt in the wound if the skill/power difference is that big. If I'm really getting stomped as Sadako or Trapper and there's no hope, just finish the objectives, open the gates and leave instead of dancing around at the exit gates pointing flashlights at me, waiting for me to see you off. idk, it's just so annoying that survivors need me to see them off so often when there's no reason to wait around.

    If I go back when someone is unhooked, and I then can only see the person who was unhooked, I'm not just going to walk away and ignore them, they are the only person in my view and I am going to chase them, entitlement will see it as being tunneled where my other option is to just leave them to reset??

    I had a match with a ttv and his friends (full swf) as dredge (MYC, Septic Touch, Deathbound) on Midwitch. I catch one, hook her. Before I could even teleport away the ttv (a p100 nancy) ran straight into me. I hit her, she proceeded to run through me and straight to unhook. I downed her and chased the unhooked because I needed the other two to get off gens and come help. I intended to down and go back and hook Nancy, but they picked her up so I just rehooked. At this point I chased a Feng. I knew I should've left her, but I didn't. The chase was fun. I let them reset because I felt bad for the unintended tunnel to second stage (as a survivor main) and Feng proceeded to run me for three gens. They finally get all the gens done and two were left. I downed one in the middle of the courtyard and slugged her to watch the doors. Pretended to teleport away which brought the last one out of hiding when she ran to pick up and I caught both of them. It was a pretty eventful match and I thought it was fun. I go in Nancy's stream to say ggs and all his friends are telling me to gtfo. 'Leave, nobody wants you here.' At first Nancy said ggs back, but they all continued to be condescending and rude as I explained myself because they were upset about the tunnel. I even complimented Feng for running me (which was still met with hostility) and mentioned that I understood how it could be as a surv main with over 5k hours. Eventually I hear 'You know what? I rescind my gg, you're a fucking loser piece of shit. You tunneled. Tunneling is tunneling, doesn't matter why you did it. You were SUPPOSED to pick me up and leave her alone. Stick to survivor because you're a trash ass killer.' Immediate ban from chat before I could respond while they continued to lament about how much of a POS I was. 🤷🏼 As a survivor I don't act like this so it's always been hard to fathom people that do. Playing killer and experiencing this utter bs makes me understand why so many killer players have a problem with survivors. Shame on you if you act like this, you make us look so bad.

    The only time I ever actually avoided killing people was during the beginning of the anniversary event when people were trying to get their invitations lol
