@@badger519 it would be easier if people didn't breed mistrust in science, legislate, and deny people rights based on bronze age mythology. That would make it easier for me and many others. Or if God existed and just made life easier for everyone from the start.

Not all family groups from Noah's family went to the land of Shinar where Babylon lay, but many had. So when certain groups migrated from the Tower of Babel to wander into northern territories, to the northwest to Egypt, and other regions easterly, they found pockets of civilizations of people who preceded them into those areas and had built it up, to which they then joined with after leaving the Tower.

There are two parts to address-diaspora and linguistics. “That is why it was called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.”

Just an interesting note, the confusion of tongues at the Tower Of Babel was spiritually reversed in Acts ch.2.

Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity - John 12:25

Cool, totally. The confusion of languages was a dispersion - instigated by God, bc the goal of these gathered people, before the confusing of their language, was to "make their own way to heaven", aka humanism. So what do we have today? Transhumanism wherein mankind will find a way to engineer away, via dna, poor human attributes, creating, by their own hands, a more perfect race of people, perfecting until they achieve their ultimate goal, and eventually preserving a human brain alive. This they will call "living eternally, aka "making their own way to heaven again". This idea is not original with me. It can be found in C.S. Lewis' famous Space Trilogy series book three, "That Hideous Strength". Can you guess what that hideous strength is?

Yeah! Absolutely and all over the earth. There are not just ancient ziggurats and pyramids and temples but also in these modern times, in every major city and graveyard. Mankind does not listen to their own Creator and God and Savior. Unless you are one of those people who do. This earth as it is, stands to be judged. How long until that day? Only God knows but it does seam to be getting closer. Never the less, God has all things in His ultimate control. Why? To bring about the last day and the 'Great white throne judgment' of all. Revelation 20:10-15 To bring about the 'New heaven and new earth.' Revelation 21:1-8. This is when the kingdom of heaven comes to the new earth. A sinless, spotless paradise of the kingdom of heaven for all eternity. I believe Him! I believe my Great God and King and Friend.

so sad winnie....I get it though. The elites are making it impossible to survive, again. They know how to make a better economy, more jobs, and rising wages, but they won't bc their ideology is better than everyone else's; aka, they are the smartest people in the room..., again. the hideous strength is mankind's unwillingness to recognize God for who he is. The history of philosophy is, in essence, the, or an, escape from reason. Mankind, in it's pursuit of autonomy from the ever present evidence of God, would rather become irrational, (the actual history of human philosophies) (the latest being absurdism) (for info read Francis Schaeffer's neat little book on the history of philosophy entitle "Escape From Reason" which chronicles all of the philosophies through time) than admit that they will eventually answer to God. The hideous strength is mankind's sin nature. @@winniecash1654

This, IMHO, is what Christians should spend energy on-the ethical issues in progress. Blundering about in paleontological epistemology gets nothing but division.

The idea that the tower of babel was a real tower and the story is true is a bit ridiculous. Also, even if it was true, it would make god kind of a jerk. Basically punishing humans for coming together and trying to stay a unified people. Edit to add verse: The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”
