What in the World Happened AFTER Noah Stepped off the Ark? - Dr. Kurt Wise

This video segment is from "Beyond Is Genesis History? Vol 1 : Rocks & Fossils," the follow-up to our feature-length film where we explore the impact of the global Flood on the Earth. Check it out on our website: bit.ly/BIGH-1.
At Fall Creek Falls, in Tennessee, Del Tackett and paleontologist Kurt Wise discuss what the world was like after the global Flood of Noah's day. They discuss how animals dispersed from the Ark to the far reaches of the planet, and how massive volcanoes, earthquakes, and even an Ice Age continued to reshape the earth for centuries after the deluge. In closing, Dr. Wise and Tackett address why some believers doubt or refuse to accept the Genesis account of Origins.
Dr. Wise earned his BA in geology from the University of Chicago, and his MA and PhD degrees in paleontology from Harvard University. He founded and directed the Center for Origins Research at Bryan College and taught biology there for 17 years. He then led the Center for Theology and Science at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary for 3 years, before founding and directing the Center for Creation Research and teaching biology at Truett McConnell University for the last 7 years. His fieldwork has included research in early Flood rocks in the Death Valley region, late Flood rocks in Wyoming, and post-Flood caves in Tennessee.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Jesus Christ is God incarnate who came to earth to be born and live a perfect life, a sinless life. (He is one person of the Trinity, consisting of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; one God in three persons not three Gods.) Jesus then gave Himself up to be crucified and died to pay for the sins of the whole world. My sin, your sin, the sins of everybody. 3 days later He was resurrected. He now offers salvation to all who will turn from their sin and trust Him to save them from eternity in hell. He paid our debts because we couldn't, but we have to trust Him to do it. I cannot add anything to what He has done (not even baptism). I cannot do enough good to take even a year off of my death sentence in hell. The sentence is a never ending one, because I have sinned against an eternal God. But Jesus took my punishment, He saved me, and offers that same salvation to you. I am praying for you.

@@pocadon no problem, the way to make a person open to it is not by tearing them down, I know that from the experience of being an atheist. The more they pushed it on me the more I rebelled. Then I finally understood it was bigger than me. Then I realized rebellion created chaos and God is about order. That’s why DNA is more coded than computer coding. The human mind is more complex than a computer, the human mind works off of electronic signals and involves 5 senses so in a sense it’s the worlds most complex creation. So if it takes a genius to create the computers we use than the creator of the human mind has unfathomable intelligence. Something we’ve never seen. Then it lead me to understand that the worlds top scientists are trying to figure out how the human mind works and something else already perfected the mass production of it to the point that it recreates itself. This is amazing craftsmanship. God laughs at the wisdom of the world.

The typical Christian view of a 7000 year old earth is only a belief or point of view. Most Christian scientist don’t believe that. Darwins discovery was ended with a sad conclusion of the Cambrian explosion. Yet he still believed we would find older and less life forms with new technologies and deeper digs. All we’ve found was more proof of ever more species. So ignoring the theory of coming from one species you end of with an even where lots of multiple creatures came to existence…. So far at least.

I wanted to study geology in school, and am absolutely fascinated by all things rock related and earth's history. A few years ago I was saved, and the hardest part is defending my faith when people throw all these science facts in my face. I'm not going to lie about not having the best education, that wouldn't accomplish anything. I do however actively seek knowledge to the best of my ability, and while much of my belief is intuitive, I fail to see why that should disprove my entire belief system. Science has yet to give me enough information to disprove the existence of the Christian God, and beyond that...it confirms my belief in many areas. I hope I can absorb enough information that you have provided to at least open someone's mind to the possibility of God.

You are correct. That was one part I disliked about this video. Science and truth are not, and have never been, in opposition to one another. As he said, science is the discovery of truth. The problem is that science has been misappropriated and the term is being applied to unscientific things. Sticking with the context of this video, evolution is taught as if it is a scientific law but it is definitively not more than a theory (and in reality it is closer to a hypothesis). In our culture the word science is applied to anything that has had any testing, any idea that a scientist (a professional in the industry) espouses to be true, and anything that promotes thinking which agrees with the popular narrative. The problem is not that science is in disagreement with truth; for by definition it cannot be. It’s that people use the term incorrectly. What they are doing in these videos IS science.

Nothing in the creation account in the Book of Genesis has been corroborated by modern scientific evidence. Science education is obviously in a very sad state that there are still people today who believe the story of Noah's Ark is an actual historical event. Multiple independent branches of science can reliably demonstrate that the event never happened. There very well may be a deity that did play a role in the origin of the universe and maybe even this planet. However, what proof do you have that it is the specific God that you believe in and not one from another religion or one not even worshiped at all by humans? God bless the devotion of you my brothers and sisters at "Is Genesis History" in telling our Creator's side, the only side, truth! I'm native American, and have always observe nature and creation with the guidance that my elders instilled in me since I can remember. And my observations have always pointed me back to my Creator's hand in all that I see, hear and feel! God bless you all in the name of my Creator and Redeemer, Jesus Christ!

I love this channel, also, I was so excited to see FCF on here! I camp here with my family all of the time! Something they are not emphasizing strongly enough in this video is just how massive the canyon is that comes from that waterfall. It is absolutely gargantuous. It reminds me of the Grand Canyon. Covered in trees though, very beautiful, and absolutely monstrous. That's why it's such a great contrast between the tiny waterfall and the monster canyon that it supposedly created. This is a wonderful place, anyone who has a chance to go there should! It's very easy to get to that waterfall, they have a parking lot that sits just outside of it, a very easy walk for anyone who's having trouble getting around, and also very good strenuous hiking as well of course :)

Even as far back as elementary school, (I am now 57) what they were teaching me didn't make sense. I mean c'mon, the Colorado trickle created the Grand Canyon? I think not. Anyone with half a brain can see that didn't happen. Doesn't make any sense at all. Anyway, thank you for bringing this to the masses. Desperately needed. :)

At somepoint in high school I realized the majority of what the public schools were forcing us to memorize in our Science classes was not proven facts at all. This realization made me so angry. How dare they drill and inbed the guesses and assumptions of a biased community as if they were proven theories. And if any student questioned these ideas or presented other possibilities, they were scoffed at like they were ridiculous and laughable ideas. While these scientists "beliefs' were vigorously taught, our spiritual beliefs and ideas were becoming more and more forbidden in school. In Junior High we read To Kill a Mockingbird then we did a play of the story. Since I was to play the baliff and swear people in when they took the stand I brought my bible to school. I was shocked when my classmates told on me and the teacher immediately took it from me and put out of sight. You'd think i had brought porn magazine to scool. I was told I would be written up if I brought it again and to use my English textbook in its place. Prayer, crosses, christian literature, or biblical discussion was considerd offensive to some and a violation of policy and rules. Students and teaches who violated or were spoke out against these rules were suspended, expelled, or let go. I couldnt understand this when the very beginning of rules and morality was the ten commandments. My parents never made me go to church and I didnt know much about the bible but I always knew there was a God or should I say Creator, God seems to be a bad word. College just confused me and had me questioning who wrote the books of the bible. I wasnt sure about Jesus for another 12 years. Maybe if there was more of an exchange of religious ideas in school I would've found him earlier in my life. I might not have made so many shameful mistakes or mafe so many wrong turns that effected every aspect of my life and still come back to haunt me. Spiritual health is such an important part of well being in life. The consequence of taking God out of a place of learning and at an age of such temptation is obvious. Student depression, low self esteem, bullying, suicide rate, pregnancy, drug use, gang violence, school shootings, and sexual immorality have become increasingly worse. They have tried to solve these problems only to create more on top of them. Yet they fail to see the initial cause of it all. If we are not one nation under god then we are divided and there can't be liberty and justice for all. If we trust fallible human reasoning rather than in God, America will be destoyed by its own pride and ignorance.

It's really neat to have even just the smallest idea of how Creationist Paleontologists think and explain the fossil records and such. I was considering enrolling at Master's University for Paleontology, but it's way out of both travel range and budget, but it's still an interest and it's exciting always to learn more. The whole of creation sings the story of its making, so seeing pieces of that is fortifying.

Great explanation of the formation of that canyon! I have been to Fall Creek Falls ever since the 70’s I always knew it could have never been made by that falls. Have you been to Laurel falls near Dayton and saw those huge boulders? Always wondered where they came from.

You have made me a believe of the young earth. My dad didn't believe the science and raised my brother and I to reject evolution. In 7th grade I took an F in science ( with my dad's approval) as I refused to read that chapter and to test in it. ( I'm 63 by the way) He didn't have it all figured out, but he looked to the Bible for his answers. This is a hard conversation to have with people who only believe the science. Thank you for your work.

Do you remember the videos of those horrible tsunamis? What did they leave when the water went back? A chaos of boulders, mud, sand, rocks mixed the rests of plants and animals (sometimes unfortunately humans) and the debris of buildings. That would to be found if a global flood had occurred. So get your shovel and start digging in your back yard and tell us if you found tsunami sediments. 😎

It is sad because they're being taught to divorce the spirit from the mind as if they are somehow at odds. God created us to use both our minds and spirits as we fellowship with him and study his creation. All of it is to get to know him better.

Wesley - They could not have been as technologically advanced as we have become. The Flood, though unquestionably the most destructive event in the history of the planet, was also a 2nd CREATION EVENT. Most of the ores and rare earth elements that make our modern way of life possible did not exist in sufficient quantity before the Flood. Why? Because they are biogenic... they are created or transmuted by microbes. In the first creation event, the land was created BEFORE life - even microbial life - and there was never a time during which conditions were conducive to large-scale production of those resources by massive microbial blooms.. until the Flood. So, the destruction from the Flood also CREATED vistas of unimaginable beauty, and literally enabled our modern technological way of life.

@@freemind.. great mind you have. Although the bible says there is nothing new under the sun. End days are as they days of noah. Fallen Angels were changing genetics with animals and humans. I just wonder. Spaceship sightings have gone wild since 1948. I believe there from the abyss now. Maybe im wrong but advanced technology remains are everywhere. All megalithic ruins. I realize we are running on the remains of noahs days. Oil. However , maybe there fuel was much different than ours. All these sightings of so called aliens defy logic. Speeds. Hoovering. Clean looking energy. Not burning rocket fuel. Also , look up parsons , he created rocket fuel. Also opened the abysss in the desert in 1947. Occult. Our government took that spot in the desert and fenced it off and called it area 51. ALIESTER CROWLEY was his teacher. Soon as the old occultist passed away , Israel became a jewish nation again.
