What's it like living in Nerja? The Pros and the Cons
We've live in Nerja over 2 years now. So what is living in Nerja like? And what are the Pros and Cons?
In this video I discuss various aspects of Nerja. Things like nature, the architecture, weather, restaurants, people, accessibility (by bus and driving), parking, the demographics, language, activities, the availability of stores, culture, apartments and healthcare. I finish off discussing pricing and the availability of lodging.
I COVER THIS IN EVEN MORE DETAIL ON THE BLOG: mappingspain.com/whats-it-lik...

I have just returned from Nerja. This was my first visit. I was astonished how clean it was. Beautiful houses in the old town. I have lived in different parts of Spain for very many years and this town has got to be the one on my return list.
Just came back from Nerja.. I live in Atlanta, originally from Venezuela. Only thing I can say is that I'd love to live in Nerja. Beautiful town!!

Can you share the contact of your RealEstate agent? Thanks in advance and thank you for such an informative video!!!
Thank you very much for an informative, concise and enjoyable video. You possess a nice, easy style and you video gives all the basics we were looking for as my wife and I travel there for a week on June 7th ‘24 for the first time as we are beginning to tire of the growing metropolis which is Marbella. The fishing village atmosphere of Nerja will be a welcome change and we now feel nearly at home there thanks to you video, which puts us at an advantage! We’ll done!

It's very pretty :)
From our experience, I"d say you got it just about right. However, we are from Dublin where two coffees and a croissant will cost you twelve euros, we can get that in Nerja for four euros fifty! One other thing tourists don't know is that cash machine charges to get cash are very high, best to avoid if you can as it is a bit of a rip off. But mostly, we love Nerja.
wife's family have had a timeshare in Capistrano since the early 1980's they loved going there for family holidays I was lucky enough to go 3 times and found it a fantastic place. Unfortunately, my inlaws are too old to go now and have had to get rid of it.
Nice honest, informative video. Thanks

It is! Very pretty. Since you live there, I'm curious: what's the official term for Maro? I know it's not a town (even though the Spanish use "pueblo"). It's not a comarca, it's not a municipality...what exactly is Maro?

I@@thetravelsofbbqboyandspank8535 I don't live there, we have a house in Maro (as a vacation home) we come there and stay for 1-3 months a year typically (sometimes longer) ... I don't know how exactly to describe Maro, but the postalcode is still 'Nerja' so it's just part of Nerja... but if I should call it something in spanish, I need to talk to my wife... my spanish is like "can I order a table" and "I need 4 bags" when I'm at Mercadona to pick up some food haha ;D

i whould probarbly advise you to wait. spain is about to go through a very tough few years and in a couple of years time properties might be quite a lot cheaper. nerja is nice though.
Thankyou Frank for the frank ( sorry about pun ) review. My British estate agent suggested Neja and I know another couple that settled there.

The issue these days is finding lodging. It's gotten TOO popular
An interesting video.
Thanks
Hi bbq boy just watched your piece on Nerja, Really good info, thanks. I know you now live in Nerja just wondering if you could answer a few questions on bus service to Málaga Airport in the month of November. Basically I am wanting to know if bus runs 7ish am from Nerja to Malaga Airport in the month of November. Kind Regards.

Hi Angela. There is 1 bus a day between Nerja and Malaga airport and it's at 11am. You can see on the Alsa website. But it's easy: just take the bus to Malaga. From the bus station, you can take a city bus OR you can go to the train station next door and take the commuter train in the direction of Fuengirola. This 2nd option is the best, takes 10 minutes on the train (which passes every 20 min)
So please tell me how is the weather in winter..I heard is ok not cold. 🤔how we get there any ✈
Thanks for that... we're planning on visiting Nerja in May! Would you (or anyone) know if there are juice bars in the town as I drink celery juice every day? We'll be staying in the Burriana Beach area. Any info re juice bars would be much appreciated!

Just came back from Nerja. There’s a “Fruit Corner” place right across the street from the “Boquete de Calahonda” where they sale fruit and vegetable smoothies.
Is there nice club with live music?
Yes I would agree lovely place but getting so expensive, prices are far higher than other Spanish towns… let’s hope lovely Nerja is spoilt by hyper prices

I am Australian and had enough hot weather for a lifetime .
An expat or expatriate is simply defined as a person who lives outside their native country. Similarly, an immigrant is a person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country. Only one distinction is made here - immigrants intend to stay in their new country indefinitely. Whether expats do or do not is unclear.

Ahhh 1000 EU a week for apartment..and I toll myself before I want be there for a year..because I'm tire of kansas 🤭😔😶😑
Sorry, but the fact that you're mispronouncing "Nerja", over and over, is mildly irritating. Have you learned - or are you learning - the Spanish language?
@thetravelsofbbqboyandspank8535
Жыл бұрын
What I find irritating is when people speak English and then pronounce things the way they would in a different language. If I'm speaking Spanish (and I do) or French (which I also do) then I'll pronounce things as they should be in that language. But If I'm speaking in English I'll pronounce them the English-speaking way.
