@@adrianhydephotography wow, lighting an ice skating rink definitely requires a less minimalistic setup to mine ;). sounds interesting though. My setup has changed over time and now I do also shoot digitally a lot. Today however, I was shooting large format 4x5 film with a buddy and we were carrying the body, two lenses, 8 cassettes, a big tripod, light meter, cloak, a magnifying glass, a cable release, and our digital cameras to compose shots with before setting up the 4x5 - that was the complete opposite of minimalism :)))

Love it. Back in the dead where you were more defined by the film you used rather than the camera you shot. Do you have 2 fridges one for the film and one for your food.

Great idea to do a video about roll notes! Also maybe you could share your workflow, Lightroom etc?

My minimalist camera bag is padded lunch bag which doesn't resemble a camera bag even remotely. :) In the bag are my Minolta SRT-101 35mm manual camera, modified many years ago so the meter works accurately with ordinary alkaline button cell batteries in place of the original (and now impossible to buy,) mercury battery. On the camera is a Minolta 50mm f/1.4 lens and wrapped in a lens wrap inside the bag is a Minolta 35mm f/2.8 lens. There are also 3 or 4 rolls of film, usually Kodak Tri-X and sometimes a roll of Kodak or Fuji color film. In the bag's small front pocket are a spare battery for the camera, a tiny pen-sized flashlight for when the light gets too dim for tired old eyes, a short shutter release cable, a small notebook and a pen, a small microfiber cleaning cloth, and a cheap rain poncho, just in case my hat is inadequate. I have to say that I only use this small kit 8-10 times per year; my preference for my photography, which is mostly landscape and human landscape, is 4x5 or 5x7 formats. My 5x7 kit is pretty minimalist, though, as large format goes. I have a larger cooler bag with my 180mm Nikkor lens mounted to a lensboard and wrapped in a lens wrap (my daughter made several lens wraps for me for Christmas one year,) along with a light meter, shutter release cable, and six 5x7 film holders, usually loaded with Ilford FP-4+ film, a focusing loupe and temporarily on top is my focusing cloth folded to fit. In the small compartment on the front of the bag are spare batteries for the light meter, notebook and pen, rain poncho folded up very small, small flashlight and sometimes a sandwich. My camera is an old Burke & James wooden tailboard camera and I usually carry it by its handle with the bag on its strap over one shoulder and my tripod on its strap over the other shoulder. The bag is heavier so which shoulder it goes over depends on which knee hurts less that day. But I wouldn't give this up for anything!

Your setup sounds just perfekt. I love the 50 mm 1.4 Minolta - such a lovely lens! I also added that 35 mm 2.8 most recently, but haven't shot it enough yet to have an opinion. I guess it will come in handy for any kind of environmental portraits. Oh and I totally feel the 'spare battery life', haha. I need to try and switch to reusable ones, but I've also heard that they may not be strong enough to power these big flashes…of well, I guess testing it out is the only thing I can do :) thanks for your comment!

@@katjafeldmeier If you switch to rechargeable batteries for your flash, try to get batteries with nickel metal hydride technology. They work better in high current applications than do the older nickel cadmium technology. After writing my post I got to thinking that I didn't use the 35mm f/2.8 very often so I took it out of the bag. The next time I take this kit out we'll see whether I regret that or not.

I have the mju 1 also as add on in my bag. Nice to see, that you are not so focused on gear. And that you „let Develop and scan“ ... I’m also more in shooting than processing 👍🏻
