From an avid watcher of Deadliest Catch since its inception I have enjoyed the show. Jake Anderson in my opinion is an inspiration to alot of people who struggled with addiction. I believe that he is an hard working, good leader and a great captain. If he has a weak spot he is still a little gullible and naive. Sig still uses him to find where the grab aren't and I have watched him grow up and become a man. He is not as gullible anymore but he still has a big heart and is still a bit soft on his crew. He is a good young man who is a successful story to every man who struggled at times. He now has a beautiful family and a successful business and against the odds he did it.

Each and everyone of those crab fishermen are brave to the point of stupidity, just one of those waves hitting the boat would have had me screaming to be helicoptered out of there! Like submariners these guys are indeed a breed apart. It’s so sad that so many of them have died once they hit shore it’s sobering to read of the demise of some relatively young and very tough hombres. May God watch over you all as you seek to make a living in the most dangerous job on the high seas. For those who have passed May you rest in eternal peace.

I agree. He was a young looking kid & he was so excited. I’m betting you remember, just as I do, when Jake stood on the Deck of the Northeastern, proudly wearing the Northwestern Jacket Captain Sid has given him! Jake was so proud & happy! He looked like a Junior in high school wearing his first letter, school jacket. He was amazing then & he still is. Adorable kid. In a couple of years he’d aged so much but he worked hard & experienced a lot of tragedy in his life. Stress is a terrible thing. He was trying to do everything for everyone. I look at him and I see success. What a lovely young man.

What would you suggest as a change? More accidents perhaps? I’m curious what you’re looking for. Either you enjoy the show & watch it or you don’t. I believe many would say the same about NFL Football, NBA, Cruise Ships or any number of things. Repetition comes with anything. The name of the show should be the indicator, ‘The Deadliest Catch’. Maybe, you’re looking for more excitement? If that’s the case & this show isn’t enough perhaps Netflix has a Fantasy Show you could enjoy. Reality doesn’t appear to be something you are excited about. Seriously, Fantasy Movies would likely be your best bet. Good luck.

I’m not sure you’ve actually watched the show? If you had you wouldn’t be making out Jake did this through his own determination alone. The amount of times he was bailed out by other captains especially when he sacked almost his entire crew. He would have failed that season if not for Brenna A captain Sean Dwyer coming to his rescue. Yes the lad has drive but let’s not make out that’s the only factor in his success, because it really isn’t.
