PEOPLE THINK THESE GUARD'S ARE MEAN AND UN CARING BECAUSE THEY YELL AT TOURIST'S, BUT THEY ONLY YELL AT THE DIS RESPECTFUL ONES. THESE GUARD'S HAVE MORE HEART THAN ANY ONE ELSE I'VE SEEN, AND THIS VIDEO PROVES IT. THEY SHOW THAT THEY REALLY DO CARE WHILE STILL MAINTAINING A LEVEL OF PROFESSIONALISM AND OATH TO DUTY. RESPECT IS EARNED NOT GIVEN. EVERY ONE OF THESE GUARD'S HAS WORKED VERY HARD TO GET THE RESPECT THEY DESERVE FROM ALL THE PEOPLE FOREIGN OR DOMESTIC. IT'S SAD TO SEE THAT ALOT OF THESE PEOPLE DON'T HAVE THE INTELLIGENCE TO REALIZE THAT. 👍

I can see by his delight what those few minutes meant to him he brought a smile to my face . What a lovely relationship between you both . I don't know if you have photos but you now have this video as a long lasting reminder of your day . I'm sure you'll have many more adventures together . The Troopers are on duty but they are human as well and have feelings and hearts , the small gestures they make that make someones day special should be praised though I'm sure they don't want that . I hope everyone saw just how incredible the Royal Guard was with the young man with special needs. You might not have seen or realized it, but the young man did for sure. The Guard, not being able to chat, he still spoke to him through the horse. He could tell the young man wanted to see the bit in the horses mouth, so he rose the horses head and watched as he described it to others. The Guard saw how respectful the man was and truly waited for permission to pet the horse. The Guard moved him closer to the man, and they shared a look. The best part was the goodbye. When the young man said goodbye, the Royal Guard used the reigns to have the horse wave with his head.... but here's the sweetest moment! When the Guard saw the excitement it gave and how happy that made the young man as he showed others what the horse did...a man sworn to be professional, stoic, tough... he smiled at the impact it made ❤

That was quite something. A fully grown adult horse weighing something like 900 lbs, at his rider's control gently moves forward and stands by the side of this young man. That must be something for him to treasure.

I presume every rider knows how soothing the presence of an animal can be. Particulary horses. I wonder what a horse feels in those moments. Personally I witnessed nothing short than a miracle. As a university student I had a part time job in summer taking care for kids with special needs. One little girl sat in wheel chair and had spastic palsy. Her legs were stiff and always crossed, she could not speak, but was smiling a lot. One day we got unusal visitors. Therapy horses! I could not imagine what happened next. One of owner sat the girl in front of her. I was afraid she might panick. How and why nobody knows. She was able to relax muscles and tendons her legs uncrossed. Everybody gasps!

usually people don't talk to the guards because they are not supposed to respond. but some people in the video *are* asking the horse, by approaching carefully and letting the horse smell them before they pat it.

It’s a lovely gesture what the guard did for the young man. I noted the young man approached and was gesturing and asked if he could stroke the horse. What I find incredible about this video, is the complete and utter disregard for these poor horses continuously touched by people. It’s a cruel the horses often show displeasure. People really do not think about the welfare of these beautiful creatures.

DAMN, i so would love to take my daughter with special needs to see the horses but bit far. plus she would want a ride lol. Horses are perceptive like most animals and they know, they recognise those with special needs. My daughter does RDA (riding for the disabled) she loves it and the horse - same one each time, is so gentle with her. Thank you for making the general public more aware.

Animals invariably know those that pose no threat to themselves, & both the horse & Lifeguard responded accordingly, in kind. As a former serving soldier I'd know instinctively not to bother these men & women whilst undertaking their duties; that said, my (now) adult Autistic son would greatly appreciate a photograph alongside one of these mounted Troopers. Next time we're in the Capital, I may just ask permission to make that so.
