She was polite in keeping her and her sons distance. Her son did look a bit nervous of the guard and he responded to the little boy by moving nearer to him for a photo he will no doubt cherish. She thanked him which she was the only person in the video that did. Some people were rude, standing too close or pushing their kids by his side.

My Dad also - I too am an "Army BRAT".👍🏻😊 I'll forever be proud of Dad 🙏🏻 He served for 25+ years - initially with The Royal Horseguards, The Blues. As I'm sure you know, in 1969 they merged with The Royal Dragoons, known as The Royals, to become "The Blues & Royals". In those days they had min height requirements to join, with most of the men being very tall - Dad was 6'5". It is said that the Blues & Royals are the most handsome of the Household Cavalry - hence they wear their helmet straps below the chin to enable everyone to see their gorgeous faces! 😁...😉 (Of course I concur! 😊) It would appear that our fathers served at the same time - they may have even known each other. I'm sure you have many happy memories, as do I. 🥰💖

This is the handsome young King’s Guardsman w/a cute bum 😉 so sweet of him to slide step closer to the young lad for a pic, which did surprise his mum but put a big smile on her face as she had no words to say. Just shows these Guardsmen are real people, yet also skilled military soldiers doing their assignments, that deserve respect from all. 😊

He is the very embodiment of the words "Courage, Discipline, Respect for Others, Integrity, Loyalty and Selfless Commitment, because these are much more than words on a page, they are what the British Army stands for, and what sets them apart from society." ....these words make the British Army the greatest in the world.

49 year old Southern Yank here. These young soldiers are the epitome of professionalism, pride and honor. They represent and hold close and dear all those before them that have defended their nation. That cannot be understated. To be and do that…and also take just one small moment for the sake of a child, is another step of true honor . It may seem small to others, but… After all, this man WOULD die to protect this child and others! Outstanding work, young man! I applaud you. You do your family, service and nation credit.

@@robertadlington650 Hey, it's not just the King's Guard that has to put up with that nonsense. The Sentinels at the Tombs of the Unknown Soldier also have to deal with stupid people. Except they don't realize that the Sentinels have loaded magazines in their weapon and they will use them if necessary. It's a place of honor by damn. The Guard in question is legend in my book and if I saw him on the street, I'd buy that man a bevvy of his choice. Cheers from Tennessee
