@waxkopp Disneyland soldier yeah 💯%. They 0:52 don't see the discipline it takes to control the horse and then backyong the horse back into the box. 2) Most underestimate the horse, it has feeling too. They don't realize a horsej hooves or bit can cause damage. 3) they never seen a horse before that's exciting.

I'm sure the Brits appreciate their solider as well, but they may not feel the need to always thank them. In America, when you see soldiers on the sidewalk, in a restaurant, or at an airport many people will approach them to thank them for their service. Most of us were taught to always thank a solider when you see them.

If they're like the limited number of pros we have, attacking them or the sovereign will have the attacker discovering the horse is as much as a threat as the rider is. Once got selected for the september 'Throne speech' where the budget is announced by the king. You're taught to ride and must show proficiency to take party, but there's a cadre of professionals who are the actual escort. The horses are trained to kick, bite and trample as the rider indicates. Horses seem to have a good time doing it too, each time one came up you could just see the horse thinking "Yeah, my turn!" In such a case we were supposed to simply turn and ride off controlled as possible. We weren't part of the security response in case of an attack. Last thing they need is people with a couple weeks riding skill and no weapon trying to interfere.

That last horse looks massive. Such a stunning creature. People need to understand that touching the reins, bridle, and head gear makes the bit in the horses mouth move, which causes the horse to move or get ready to move. If you lead the head, you lead the horse, the reins lead the head. These horses' mouths are very sensitive.
