Another comment said he understood what the Spaniards tourists in the crowd were saying. That the Spaniards were saying in Spanish, that the guardsman was rude and he might need to seek help. I guess the Spaniard tourists don’t respect that this is his job to keep people away and think he’s rude but not the girl who slapped the horse away. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

That horse knew she was capable of that before she did it. The horse was doing all it could within its training to get her away. Disgusted at her behaviour. Grateful the horse was protected ❤

There seems a growing lack of respect from tourists towards the guards and horses. There needs to be greater restrictions and controls against this. It's becoming an increasing problem and could prove to be dangerous if even the horses are assaulted for the sake of a good photo.

Simple thing like those posts with ropes that are used to create walkways/aisles in theatres and banks. Making it a criminal act for a person to enter inside the roped area (like crime scene tape). And serious fines! Start at $1000 for a first offence. (If the person is outside the rope, they can still get a decent picture.)

No. We had horses when we were kids, and the horse was not allowed to bite, or pretend to bite. Blaming the tourist, is the fault of everyone including the guard. He has double reins on the horse, he is just too stupid to use them. This is the only time until now I disagree with the Royal guards. He was definitely wrong. Not the tourist.

She was not arrested because she didn’t hurt the horse. It was actually started out as a playful banter as the horse was interested in whatever was in her coat pocket. The way the horse stood up was hilarious. It wasn’t until the woman lifted her hand in a more aggressive manner where the guard stepped in. People need to understand the difference between a tap and a slap on a horse lol

She high-tailed it out of there. Her lack of manners, lack of respect and ignorance was on display.😡

I fail to understand why people even want to stand there and gawk at a man on a horse like they have never seen such a thing.

She had the gall to slap the highly trained military horse three times - three times!! - across his muzzle? She should have been immediately arrested for animal abuse.

As a Spaniard, hearing the comments of those country fellows of mine at the shout of the guardsman telling them off, I get very angry. They call him "rude" and say that "if he's got a problem, he should seek help..." At that moment, I only wished that the guy with the sword would start swinging it around like a samurai. I would love to see the whole group breaking in all directions and screaming for their lives! Keep doing a good job, guardsmen. You have my greatest sympathy and support. A Spanish Londoner.

I heard the comments too. Despicable behaviour. They also made rude comments on the guard who ordered them to move out of the way, referring to him as the 'fat one'. That girl was lucky to get off with a caution, if she did this in Spain to a mounted guard to the royal family she would have got more than a shouting!

I imagine she treats everyone in her life like this.

I grew up on a ranch. When a horse does that, it either wants you to get away from it or it wants you to stroke it gently. NEVER hit a horse. They are very big and strong, but they're also very sensitive and noble animals who deserve our highest respect. The witless girl just stood there and waited when she should've been fleeing the scene, which shows that she doesn't think she did anything wrong by striking this cavalry horse.

I’m shocked the guard let her hit the horse so many times.

People think they’re so damn entitled! She thinks her actions are justified and she was victim. Taking a picture with guard and horse is a privilege and should be treated as such.

Being one from "Across the Pond", I've watched so much disrespect shown to the Queen's Guards, the King's Guards, and now their horses, it's disgusted me for a long time. They're proven warriors, and anything less than respect, is a slap in the face.

Don't you guys feel silly posting the same comments over and over. "The disrespect!"... "the arrogance!"... "the karen!"... "the narc!"... sheesh we get it. Imo, she failed a social grace and was punished for it more than sufficiently by being publicly yelled at like a child, and then potentially humiliated/permanently disgraced via video on the internet.. where you all as her very wilful demons will attempt to forever accuse her and label her with names and mental conditions that aren't her own. Quite possible that she simply felt experienced in controlling unruly horses and exercised her practice on a horse that was not her own. This is a social faux pas to be sure and an excess of boldness perhaps, but I think that her public scolding was already enough as the consequence to her error.

Not only her. I have worked in a similar place with very strict rules, specially regarding the horses, and the great majority of turists didn't respect them.

The smile on this girl when she slaps the horse is nauseating , I just hope she hasn't got any animals at home. So disrespectful, this girl needs to be taught a lesson in animal cruelty.

Exactly. They are Royal guards not props. They take their jobs very seriously. I have seen one pull out his rifle and point it when a tourist got too close. They are trained soldiers. It isn't a joke.

First was a tap, but then she got more forceful. You should never, ever ignore a horses mannerisms or react like this girl did. They are agitated enough, and tourists need to be banned going near them. They're there to do a job, not be harassed by people.

What a lot of tourists do not seem to realize is that the guards and horses are working. They are not there for show and pictures. And the gall of this particular woman, the horse clearly showed that she was too in his space and instead of realizing the horses signals or even caring for them and moves away, she slaps the horse instead. There should be a law that just like attacking the guards, attacking the horses should be against the law too. Respect to the guard and horse combo!!!

She didn't exactly SLAP the horse in the face though. The horse was interested in brushing up against her for whatever reason. She waved it away and gave it a tap when the horse continued. It's a natural reaction. The guard reacted appropriately to end the situation, the girl stepped off, and the police moved the crowds back. What more do you want? The guard knew it wasn't entirely her fault. People calling for her to be arrested are nuts. If she had actually SLAPPED the horse it'd be a different story.

Totally agree! People are overreacting to this clip! She wasn’t being disrespectful!!! The horse was nudging her!!!! Maybe she was afraid it would nip her!

She should be charged with assault on a Queens Guard-im an older American woman and I'm shocked that she would do something so disrespectful!!

I was astounded at the disrespect and entitlement displayed.

How dare she strike the horse! It should have knocked her flying and then stood on her.

Never ever hit a horse on the nose. It is one of the most sensitive areas of the horse.

Hands-On assault to a Guard's horse. Is the same as hands on a salt to a Guard.

Surely that's illegal... that HAS to be illegal. It's illegal in the US.

Who is supposed to be in charge of these delinquents? Why are they allowing people so close to the horses?It seems so abusive.

Where do these people think they are and why do they feel so entitled to be rude AND cruel by slapping that beautiful horse THREE times. Kudos to the Royal Guard by letting her know that rudeness is not tolerated.

Did the horse nip at her or was it smelling her? Either way she should have walked away and not stood there any longer. There is a sign saying that the horse my kick or bite. So walk away instead of stand there and be stupid. Im surprised that the guard was patient that long. I would have made her move on after the first slap.

I think the horse was just sniffing her not nipping, however she should NOT have touched the horse, certainly not hit it's nose.

The tourists should not be allowed to touch or pet the horses at all. They need to stay away from them, they are not pets. 😠

I was so impressed with how extremely respectful that group of young men were. They did not force themselves into the horse's face. The horse could sense what kind of guys they were. Then there is that lady.

Good grief! It looks like she was posing for a picture and the horse was causing the problem! The girl was just standing there! Maybe she had food in her pocket that the horse smelled. Y’all are overreacting!!! What she did wouldn’t have even hurt the horse and the last wave of her hand didn’t even touch the horse!

Not a barrier in front, but from a certain distance on the sides, yah. People should stand under or next to the Horses May Bite or Kick signs and no closer.

The British should stop letting people this close to the guards .. it's not Disneyland

They really have to stop letting tourist this close to the horses and guards.

That girl has to have a huge ego to even dream that she had the right to smack (YES THERE CLEARLY WAS CONTACT) one of the KING'S horses! He/She was letting the human know to back off. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact, it's his job!

They should’ve made an example of her rude attitude n disrespectful behavior towards the Kings Guards horse- but apparently the kings guard and police don’t care as much about the horse as the people standing around watching in disbelief as putting hands on is tolerated. Shameful. King Charles should be embarrassed and question his guards ability to protect the palace, if he won’t even protect his horse! 😡

A kid who takes a picture next to a Horse because Everyone does it and then is the unlucky one who the horse doesn‘t like. She doesn‘t know how to deal with horses and is propably a Little scared. Of course her reaction is wrong but an armed officer telling her, what she did was wrong is gonna have a good Effect. „charged to the maximum“ my ass, think about what you say before you say it

As an American I can tell you this if I was visiting Buckingham Palace I would never disrespect the King's guard in such a way. I would stay back and take my pictures there. I feel really bad that these guards have to put up with swine tourists all the damn time.

As a sister American I agree with you 100%. When we are in another community whether it's a country or just visiting another state or county even, we are there as guests and should behave as all good guests should behave and respect the people for whom that place is home. It all comes back to the Golden rule.

​@@steve00alt70 They are from Spain actually, I speak spanish and I can clearly tell by their accent, when the girl was yelled to get away from the horse she said "perdón, perdón" which is "sorry, sorry".

The horse didn’t want her near him in the first place. He sensed her spirit and knew it wasn’t right.

Why want she held accountable for her actions?? That was an assault on a member of the Royal staff!! Horses work for the RF.. 🇨🇦

Surely the police should be paying attention? This is getting ridiculous. Who are these wretched people who appear to be allowed to behave in this disrespectful way?
