The last time I was on the New River Fort Lauderdale was in 1984. I was on 110 ft wooden mine sweeper from World War II. We went to the Bahamas for 2 weeks I don't know what was hotter the water or the air temperature. Went to cat kay.

My dad was on a wooden mine sweeper at the end of ww2 working his way back to the states.

Definitely a great spot
You can take/tow any yacht up to 200' up the river ,to Bradford Marine,for repairs.(or your home)

Alfred I wondered what happened, Sorry to hear about your accident, I know how that can be. I totaled my big ram Sept14 2022 and I have been fighting to keep my right foot. Looks like I will but it is taking forever to heal. It takes longer when your 70 years old.
I have worked this river everyday (and live on a boat on a canal by A!A and beach. I know this well. Many different yachts and pontoons. Nice and thank you for sharing. BTW, this water is NOT VERY VERY Clean... not even close sir. One reason professional divers wear suits.

I grew up boating and swimming in that river in the 80's, early 90's.
Alfred there was a great club called back streets not to far from where you are in the late 80s

I totally appreciate your insightful and caring comment. Unfortunately many of these people are the ones that own our politicians and have corrupted the supreme court. Holding on to their wealth is all that matters and homelessness or hungey ill children just do not register as there is no profit or power for them to feed there lustfu greed. Sorry for being so political and preachy but those homes which are probably just their summer homes and those super yachts are beautiful but obscene all at once. Just sayin 🤷

The river narrows and boats are docked on both sides, smaller boats make way for these super yachts to fit. The river is curvy also.
