SUMMARY:
3:11: 📚 John Lennox discusses the concept of truth, challenging the idea that science is the only way to truth and emphasizing that truth is ultimately a person, Jesus Christ.
8:40: 🤔 Reason and revelation are not in opposition, but rather work together to understand the truth about God.
13:58: 📚 Lennox discusses the importance of defending the faith and the different categories of evidence.
20:53: 🤔 Faith is not blind and requires evidence; moral and truth relativism are not practical; Big Bang theory confirms the idea of a beginning.
27:56: 🌍 Lennox suggests that science is influenced by Aristotle's ideas of the eternity of the universe hindering the consideration of the biblical worldview of the beginning of the universe.
35:48: 📚 Lennox discusses the relationship between biology, evolution, and atheism, highlighting that atheism cannot be logically deduced from biology and that the neo-Darwinian synthesis is now being challenged within the scientific community.
42:10: 🌌 Lennox discusses the Aristotelian view of the universe and the concept of multiple dimensions, suggesting that there may be another dimension beyond death.
53:07: 📚 There are clues in nature and the human genome that suggest the existence of an intelligent mind behind them.
56:27: 🤔 The debate between science and God is still relevant, but there is a shift towards focusing on meaning and identity; Christians should engage with other worldviews and religions.
1:04:02: 💡 The importance of defending and bringing meaning into people's lives through intellectual credibility and moral effects is crucial for universities and Christians.

You must be joking with us, god is a given when you give ultimate questions a pass. Give us a break, please. Those with one foot in fantasyland authorize themselves to weigh-in on whatnot as if Earth had gravity-free zones & magic. The religious don't have ears to hear, the books of God are filled with faith & prayers: Nothing fails like prayers in a children's hospital, the religious are only into convincing themselves. Rabbi Podium Jockey should not take himself so seriously, nobody should. The religious have no quality-controls. God knows, god helps those helping themselves is a saying because gods have a perfect record of nothing doing outside of fiction. One might expect a deity to make itself known to everyone without work performed in interpretations of old literature by guys like our verbose podium jockey. Who in their right mind promotes travel as if best done with one foot in fantasyland vocabulary. Freud wrote the antidote to Christianity is literacy. Nothing fails like prayer in a children's hospital, and these wolves in sheep's clothing advocate prayer & faith verbiage. Even Jesus Christ said faith was worthless if you can't move mountains by issuing voice commands. What is moral or ethical about suggestions of travel with one foot in some religious fantasyland? A house divided cannot stand. We vote because Christians have no quality-controls, & we desire those governing not making suggestions travel is best done with one foot in someone's fantasyland. 'Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.'' Come, let us worship Jesus. Let us all forget it was secular law & order ending the inquisitions & witch-killings. Let us forget we have a saying: God helps those helping themselves, because gods have a perfect record of doing nothing. Let us ignore nothing fails like prayer in a children's hospital. Let us ignore a wicked generation seeks signs. Theologians grant the titles to each other without a deity certification. A deity unable to be acknowledged by everyone is a forgery based on literature. Oppression builds character among the dominated. Who do you think nailed the king of the Jews, when Imperial Rome controlled temples & publications? Just for the fun of it, have their Messiah say render to Caesar? My sheep hear my voice. Think not I come with peace, but sword. The literate of the age; built religions & made propaganda, devalued the currency, too. Marvel not I say you are all gods, and so on & so on. Faith is a fantasyland term, & the Christians hate to hear it. If faith had any value, then you could move mountains by voice-command. We know there is no god outside of fiction. Freud wrote the antidote to Christianity is literacy. The Christians slapped their books on the Old Testament, & the Mormons glued theirs on to them both, thus proving Christians lack quality-control. Think not I come with peace, but sword. I come to divide this that and the other thing, & I give you tax exempt status. When you realize the Gospels are mythology based on Greek epics - Dr. Dennis MacDonald

My 43 years mother of five children, gave birth to me in a very precarious situation being at home. At last in maternity, I was delivered by c-section after a failed forceps procedure in 1953. I thank God for being alive because my parents, if they weren't Christians, probably would have decided on an abortion. The moral Christian view is why I live today with faith in Jesus Christ, Who first suffered for me before my own individual suffering, with a meaning for eternal life. I love God and I believe He loves me as mankind he died for. I have decided to accept Jesus, repudiate sin but love the sinner.

Managerial Truth (joke) - A man flying in a hot air balloon realizes he’s lost. He spots a man below and shouts, “Excuse me, can you help me? I promised my friend I’d meet him half an hour ago, but I don’t know where I am.” The man below replies, “Yes. You’re in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above the ground. You’re at 40 degrees latitude and 58 degrees longitude.” The balloonist says, “You must be a manager.” The man replies, “I am! How did you know?” The balloonist says, “Everything you told me is technically correct, but it’s of no use to anyone.” The manager retorts, “You must be an engineer.” The balloonist says, “I am! How did you know?” The manager replies, “Well, you don’t know where you are or where you’re going, but you expect me to solve your problem. You’re in the same position you were before we met, but now it’s my fault!”

13:58: 📚 John Lennox discusses the importance of defending the faith and the different categories of evidence. 20:53: 🤔 Faith is not blind and requires evidence; moral and truth relativism are not practical; Big Bang theory confirms the idea of a beginning. 27:56: 🌍 The speaker suggests that science is influenced by Aristotle's ideas of the eternity of the universe hindering the consideration of the biblical worldview of the beginning of the universe. 35:48: 📚 The speaker discusses the relationship between biology, evolution, and atheism, highlighting that atheism cannot be logically deduced from biology and that the neo-Darwinian synthesis is now being challenged within the scientific community. 42:10: 🌌 The speaker discusses the Aristotelian view of the universe and the concept of multiple dimensions, suggesting that there may be another dimension beyond death. Nothing fails like prayer in a children's hospital. What is moral or ethical about suggesting people believing they hear the voice of god, or understand the mind of a deity by the bible? Has anyone, ever, seen a deity do anything outside of fiction? Don't you think if a deity exits & everyone is not aware of it, then the deity title is being fudged a tad bit? The Christians slapped their books on the OT, & the Mormons glued theirs on to them both. Professor John Lennox is a showman, of the lord Monkton, God of the gaps, sophistry kind. Any deity outside of fiction which is unknown to everyone is bearing witness to fudging the deity scam, producing theater in an immoral or unethical space. It was secular law & order ending the witch-burning & inquisitions of those with special relationships with fiction. Christians don't have any quality-control, so we vote to govern away from those proposing we travel best with one foot in fantasyland. He preaches to the choir & all he has to do is be cheerful, name drop, & sell books. Freud wrote the antidote to Christianity is literacy. Gods, outside of fiction, have a perfect record of doing nothing, so we have a saying: God helps those helping themselves. Even Jesus, The Nailed, knows faith is worthless if you can't move mountains by voice-command.

Dr Lennox is amazing and I admire him greatly. Having said that first, I now am compelled to tell you how a country boy, hillbilly, like me would answer the question, "what is truth ?". Truth is what is. Said another way, truth is what exists, historically, presently, and what will exist. The primary truth is God. He desires us to know that, thus, His very name. God, being omniscient knows that if we don't grasp the primary, the fundamental, foundational, then giving us further truth is irrelevant. We are not in the year 2023 supposed to be discovering what truth means, We should be a sevaral thousand years smarter than that. My two cents, but free today.

I like his point about intelligent atheists coming up with theories as a sort of smokescreen to avoid the deeper question that a belief in God would lead to... that we ARE accountable for our wrongdoings. Also, I love the questions of asking an ordinary Christian to explain these things, because many people may not have the appropriate level of knowledge or reasoning to argue these points in a more detailed and comprehensive manner. Science is one measure used to explain the world, but certainly not the only one. Also science has been proven wrong numerous times, but the Bible has not. I see science as an observation more than an explanation due to its inherent fallacies, not mutually exclusive from religion.

Science has been proven wrong numerous times : yes, and it will be proven wrong other numerous times. The Bible has not (been proven wrong): why hem, it is easy to show that the Bible is full of factual and conceptual errors; it is also full of factual historic hints of true events (which is normal as its aim is to relate the history and beliefs of pre roman Jewish people, then with the NT the history of Jesus and first followers) and full of valuable concepts such as importance of charity. Both science and Bible are imperfect and prone to interpretations. But science can (and is compelled to) find a way to rectify its errors, while Bible cannot be rectified (although it can be subject to a number of interpretations and understandings among Jewish and Christians, who are divided in a number of branches). All human civilisations think that humans are accountable for their wrongdoings.

I wish for an interview with John Lennox going through the issue of pain and suffering and I would like for you to ask him why pain and suffering are used as an excuse to not believe in a kind god and refuse to realize that our rebellion against god is actually the cause of our pain and suffering and Jesus's final pain and suffering for all mankind. The Word of Truth is ever faithful (loyal, true, isomorphic) to Reality (That which is/That I am). God is a title that we bestow upon our highest value. We are Life at large, experiencing itself as all of us simultaneously. Therefore, we are all It, to an unknowable/inexhaustible extent, as the facets of a Diamond are 'both' distinct from each other 'and' the Diamond itself. Love is the recognition of our shared Being.

As for content: in regards to science-religion area is Stephen Myer, and James Tour, Behe, Hugh Ross and other ID proponents. On a larger "Practical Wisdom" scale on more theological deeper subjects it would be Joel from "Expedition Bible" (Archeology showing the legitimacy of the Bible), Walter Veith or Martin Smith from "Clash of minds" in regard to what is happening in our world and why (not on his creation stance) -- Walter Veith produced the watershed series "Total Onslaught" (whole title is "Total Onslaught Against Jesus Christ" It is still the best series for awakening those to the powers behind the occult agenda being played out today - and he uses their quotes. God used Hugh Ross to bring me to the bible - and on studying the Bible my concepts of life were totally reborn as I came to know Jesus. Quickly though I came to see immediately that our so-called Protestant churches, lost their protest and are in large measure teaching Jesuit doctrines (e.g., regarding 'state of the dead', 'second coming manner and sequence (e.g., its not a 'secret rapture')', 'humans being inherently immortal', 'Israel's role in prophecy', 'great controversy [free will] issue', 'prophecy in general" - and so many crucially important doctrinal elements. My vocation was designing computer based systems, writing operating systems and other work, and patenting. The last couple decades doing hi tech. patents for large universities, Sony and some other clients. If more would use more proper scholarship in their study of scripture the landscape of Christianity would not be so bleak and backslidden. My wife and I have been involved in some media ministries and more lately I'm doing more preaching - because the time is near and all the bibles prophetic elements have come together. Blessings RH

😊 I've never heard professor John Lennox ever say that before, "that's the best interview I've ever done and I'd love to do more just like it!"🎉

Thank you for sharing this interesting interview! Could you please make another one with Professor Lennox, focussing specifically on AI? This would truly be great, since over the past few months this issue has become more and more frightening … Thank you! Kind regards, Anna

This is a great suggestion. Yes, I will make another one with John on AI and aim to publish it within a few months.

@@Practical.Wisdom Thank you! As I mentioned earlier, this would be really great! And if you allow me to add another “suggestion” (or idea), maybe you could ask him to comment on the claims such highly admired intellectuals like Yuval Harari or experts on that field like Elon Musk make about the imminent dangers of AI. The future they are predicting is so gloomy, terrifying, and scary! I wander if Professor Lennox shares their opinion … I would honestly appreciate if you could address this issue as well! Kind regards, Anna
