WHAT IS THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN THE CHURCH?

So many people have expressed the sentiment that women should be allowed to ascend to the order of priesthood in the Catholic Church. Is this the only way women can play out their role in the Church? This and more are the questions that Natalia Odidika-Esezobor answers on this episode.
Do you think women should be allowed to become Catholic priests? Leave us a comment.

On the question 'Can women baptize' as posed by the host, here is the answer from the book 'The Faith Explained' by Leo J. Trese (highly recommended): Who can baptize? Are you prepared, in an emergency, to administer the sacrament of Baptism? Probably you are. There are few Catholics who get through a course of religious instruction-even the first communion class-without having drilled into them the importance of knowing how to give baptism in case of necessity. Ordinarily it is the priest who must administer the sacrament of Baptism, and it would be very wrong for a lay person to do so without serious reason. At the same time it is essential that no person who is qualified to receive it should be allowed to die without baptism. Baptism is an absolute prerequisite to heaven. That is why our Lord Jesus Christ has thrown this sacrament “wide open” in case of urgent need. In such a case- when an unbaptized person is in danger of death, is eligible to receive the sacrament, and no priest is available-then just anybody may baptize. Even a non-Catholic, even an atheist, can validly administer baptism, so long as he has the intention at least of “doing whatever it is that the Catholic Church does” by this ceremony, and performs the act correctly. The act itself is as simple as any act could be. It consists in pouring plain tap water on the forehead of the person to be baptized and at the same time pronouncing audibly the words (while the water is being poured), “I baptize thee in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” These are words that every Catholic should know as well as he knows his own name. Someone’s eternal salvation may one day depend upon the knowing of these words. In solemn baptism administered in church, the water used is of course the baptismal water, especially blessed each year on Holy Saturday. In private baptism, however, plain water is used, in preference even to holy water. Quite frequently, private baptism is administered in hospitals to newborn babies whose survival seems to be in doubt. If it is a Catholic hospital, then the parents need have no worry. One of the Sisters or one of the nurses will see to it that a baby is baptized if it appears to be in danger. However, a prospective mother who must go to a non-Catholic hospital, particularly if her physician is not a Catholic, should make provisions for the baptism of her infant in case of necessity. Under such circumstances it would be well for the mother to have the words of baptism written out on a card or a piece of paper. Before going to the delivery room she could give the card to the doctor (or nurse) with this request: “Doctor, if it looks as if the baby may not live, will you please pour a little water on the baby’s head and say these words while you are pouring the water; and just have the intention of doing what my Church wants done by baptism?” If the baby should become suddenly ill at home before he has been baptized, then a member of the family can (and should) baptized the child. An infant’s hold on life is pretty frail at best, and sometimes the margin between life and death is rather narrow. In such an event there is no need to wait for the priest. The baptism will be just as effective, no matter who gives it. And the baptism should be given unconditionally-that is, without any ifs or buts. Whether he lives or dies, this is the child’s baptism. It will not be repeated. However, if the privately baptized baby survives the danger of death, then the pastor should be notified of the baptism-the date, and by whom performed-so that he can enter it in the baptismal record book. Remember that later on the child will need a certificate of baptism in order to receive his first Holy Communion and other sacraments. When the child recovers, the parents should also arrange with the pastor to have the child receive the other ceremonies of baptism. The child will be brought to church at the time scheduled for baptism and will receive all the ceremonies of solemn baptism-the exorcism, the anointings, the candle, and the robe-all except the actual pouring of the water, unless there is some reason to fear that this was not done properly. When a child is baptized privately, he should have godparents (at least one) if it is convenient to secure them; perhaps Catholic neighbors or relatives who are at hand. All that is necessary is that the persons have the intention of being godparents and touch the child while the water is being poured. In this case, the same couple (if they can) should accompany the child to church when the supplemental ceremonies are performed. In practice, however, it seldom is feasible to have godparents at a private baptism, especially in a hospital. In that case the godparents at the supplying of the ceremonies may be whatever couple the parents may wish to ask. It is unlikely that we ever shall have occasion to give private baptism to an adult. But it could happen. A prospective convert might suddenly become gravely ill before being received into the Church. Or an unbaptized friend might on his deathbed express a desire to be baptized, and have the necessary faith to receive baptism: faith in God the Blessed Trinity as the rewarder of the just and the punisher of the wicked and in Jesus Christ as God’s own Son and our Redeemer, and the willingness to accept all that the Catholic Church teaches. Such opportunities to administer baptism may never come to us, but it is of profound importance that we be prepared.

Please don't fool yourself , women were creased by God to assist men . God called her (woman) Man's 'Helper', but man called her 'his wife' That's the main reason women were extracted from man was :- So that women are directly attached to her husband and Listen from him. And that she may know that she is part of Man ( WOMAN) And that part which God removed from man. But, from the Garden of Eden, where The Human race lived in peace and love of God's grace. The woman decided that she has no need to ask man. I am sorry , She messed 😔 up them 😔 and she is still hold on to her stands point and the devil is using that standing point of rebellion which is direct from satan . he/satan rebelled against GOD. The woman must make up her mind , because she was commanded to respect man. That is not a degrading .! If , a man degrade his wife then he has degraded himself. The man is never complete with out his wife. And a Normal and God fearing man , will always have love in his heart ❤ for his wife -even where there is no love. The woman is that LOVE PART in man. But, it only work that way if she shows herself WORTHY of that office or integral part in GOD's family. And keep herself ,her husband and her family 👪 ❤ The MAN is the foundation and the sttuctures of the house The WOMAN is the bricks and the cement of the house. She brings the laughter 😃 and up bringing into the house. That's why, simply when a man don't love a woman, he become queer in his head , the LGBQT "Q' is queer and the direct opposit to this word is Normal . In conclusion God told woman to respect the Man., not love the man. But , (Woman's) form of love to man will and can only be in the form of RESPECT. And to the man ,God said ; The only way you can show LOVE to her is by deedly considering your need for her companionship and the integrally part only she alone can fulfill and complete in you as how God created you and her as ONE. finally , woman can't be a man unless there is something wrong? " Queer" That simply means she can't be Pastors or Priest Yes! They can be Tesches of other women their children and other children. They can also be Prophetess like Miriam, Moses sister ... 2Thesselonian 2:6 What is "The fall away of the church " ? Changing God's WORD "THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION IN THE HOUSE OF OUR GREAT GOD " THAT CAN'T BE! you will pay one day..... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.! 🕯💡🪔 🙏🏾 🌾🫒🍇 🤔
