    I can’t get enough of this info, having had breast cancer. My gyn just prescribed HRT for me. The tide is turning!! Addendum: just has my oncology checkup this afternoon and brought up that I’m considering HRT. Her reply was that it’s fine as long as I make an informed decision and the decision I make will be the right one for me ❤❤❤.

    What’s worse, even if you don’t have breast cancer but your mother or sister did, even if tests show it’s not genetic, most doctors will deny you HRT.It’s just a mental hurdle and too many doctors just won’t even have the discussion. Thank you for posting this interview. It was helpful. 😊

How do they test that? And are the other horse eatrogens in Premarin beneficial or negative? We need more detailed info on Premarin vs estradiol vs other forms of HRT. My grandmother never took hormone therapy, never had any cancer, went through menopause naturally. My mother the same. Both lived into 80s & didn’t die from broken bones. I’m in my 80s now and never took birth control, no hormone therapy, went through menopause normally & had 5 children. Mom had two, grandma had three children.

    That's great for you. But your experience is sadly not what most of us experience. It would be like denying those of us who need glasses because some people don't need them at all. Hrt is lifesaving for those who need it. Without it, I would have closed my business because I could not remember anything. I am 54. I am pretty sure had I not done hrt I would have been diagnosed with alzheimers early.

    How does giving Tamoxifen - which is blocking estrogen receptors - together with bioidentical estrogen - which needs to dock on said receptors, make any sense? If the receptors are blocked, how can additional estrogen even connect to the receptors?

    Hormone replacement therapy after er pr positive breast cancer? Then why do they give aromatese inhibitors to stop production of estrogen ??? I mean they say even the little estrogen produced by body can trigger recurrence, and here u are talking about giving hormone replacement therapy??? Does that mean only women on tamoxifen are candidates for hrt and women on AI are not the candidates for HRT?

    Could you please address the issue of taking bioidentical progesterone after HR+ breast cancer? There seem to be many conflicting data as regards the role of bioidentical progesterone on the BREAST (not the uterus lining, where the role is clearly protective). Some study outcomes say it's protecting the breast, others show the opposite. What is currently the data saying in that respect??

    Why all the doctors talks about estrogen benefits, but not mentioning combined progesterone and what would be the long term effect?

  • @myalloy

    @myalloy

    4 ай бұрын

    This is a great question, we'll take note of this for future webinars! If you are taking estrogen and you have a uterus, you must take progesterone as well, as it protects the lining of the uterus. If you've had a hysterectomy, then you don't need to take it. However, there can be some benefits for women without a uterus to take it as well if their symptoms are not being fully met. It can help with sleep issues and anxiety.

    I am miserable in the peri. And 3 doctors refused to prescribe me HRT because of the atypical ductal hyperplasia (which is stable for 3.5 yrs - since the disvovery that is and negative biopsy) and family history (even though my mom had a totally different type of cancer and it was after menopause, and she had never taken any type of hormonal therapy. Well, that's their secondary argument. Even if it didn't exist, the 1st one would be good enough reason for them to refuse me HRT.). And even at the risk of CVD, they won`t do that. I`d rather have another 10 yrs of somewhat enjoyable life, with the risk of cancer, than live like that when I feel like killing myslef to end it all every single day. How do I get access to estrogen therapy?
