I was about 18 years old, when i decided to read the Bible from page one on my own. I was so upset, when i realized that the description of the cosmology was totally different from what i learned in school. I argued with God: how could you write something so unscientific in your Holy book? No wonder atheists are making fun of the Bible!!! After some arguing i heard a smal voice in my spirit: today you don't understand it, but the day will come and you will understand. And praise the Lord, the day did come, about 40 years later i discovered the truth about what really is the true cosmology. The things we feel and can see with our eyes- earth motionless, sun, moon and stars moving above, are confirmed in the Book of books. I would not want to be in your shoes on the day of judgment. Knowing the Bible so well and twisting it so bad is the gravest sin . May God open your eyes before it's too late.

Joshua told the sun and moon to stand still until he beat his enemies. He didn't tell the earth to stop spinning. The firmament is a solid crystaline structure.

this does not imply that because God listened to Joshua asking Him to hold the sun still to beat their enemies that the earth is flat. If you believe God can do anything then why believe God could stop the sun and moon but He could not or did not stop the earth from spinning? I never understood why people think the ONLY way God could have made the earth was if it were flat and covered or else we'd float away or fall off the Earth as if God must work only in our current understanding of the way the universe or planet could possibly be made. I'll say to you what God said to Job, "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand." To put limitations on God that He could only possibly work and create something that makes sense to us is sad. God listens to Joshua because He fights for Israel and this was not the first or only time during this battle that God was actively intervening. It's inconceivable to think God could only stop the sun and moon but not the earth or that the only way He could stop it is if the earth wasn't spinning as if that's some sort of limitation on what God could do

There's zero to suggest it is a solid crystaline structure as numerous countries have dozens of satellites in space.

The Hebrew word רָקִיעַ (raqia) does not directly mean "space" as we understand it in modern astronomical or scientific terms. Instead, it is often translated as "expanse," "firmament," or "vault" in English versions of the Bible. Do not try to change the meaning of the words in the bible.

While the word “firmament” is often associated with the idea of a solid dome, the original Hebrew word does not necessarily imply a solid structure. Instead, it refers to the expanse or space that separates the waters above from the waters below. the firmament is the sky that separates the waters above from the waters below the atmosphere itself contains water or water vapor also as everyone knows the clouds contain water. So, we know there wasn't a solid dome just because they translated the word Raqiya into the English word firmament doesn't mean there was once a solid crystalline dome. Thats just human conjecture.

The Bible describes the Raqia separating the waters above from those below. Those two words alone, above and below, tell me the earth is not a globe. If it was a globe, the description of the firmament would have to be that it separated the waters from above, below, to the left and to the right. Or separated the waters surrounding the firmament from those within it. Above and below by definition can only be up or down, not around.

Going through a window in the firmament and out a window on the other side of the firmament after completing its circuit above the earth.

@@mikemental8285 Firmanent, dust, cloud etc are all metaphorical to how the scriptor describes it in their own understanding. But it operates the same way. The main take away is that it is there and is firm. You're not reaching the heavens in a rocket ship

This is one of my favorite pastors but after listening to him say the earth is rotating I just don’t know what to think. 🤔

The moment he said "gravity", he reminds me of that catholic priest named George Lemaitre they brought in to convince people the earth is a globe in 1920. It is just saying that "it" was the first day of something being created on this planet. If there was "Gravity" already on Earth, as you later say, then the Earth was already "rotating". 2-The therm Raki'a is Not what "We" (XXI century) think of as "space". Raki'a is what "The Ancient Hebrew" thought of as "Space" - "Firmament" - "a Vaulted Dome" (Amos 9:6), a "Curtain" or "Tent" that covered the Earth we live in (Isaiah 40:22). 3-According to the Bible, the Water Canopy was Not made out of Water Vapor but out of Plain Water. Genesis 1:6-7 says: "And Elohim said, Let there be a raki'a (expanse, dome, firmament) in the midst of the (waters), and let it divide the from the . And Elohim made the raki'a, and divided the waters () under the raki'a from the waters () which were above the raki'a; and it was so. 4-I would agree that the Bible says (Ps 104:5-9) that the Earth was placed "Over Foundations" so it would "Never be Moved". ***I would like your comments about how to conciliate this "un-mobility" with the movements of "Rotation" and "Translation" in the case these have been taken into account. ***Is there any apologetic theory about the creation story other than the Canopy Theory? ***Thanks***

Nothing about dome in Amos 9:6 "It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The Lord is his name" There is nothing under the earth. Job 26:7 "He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing" Foundation= bedrock or people, depending of context Psalm 104:4 contradicts the doctrine of flat earth. Word of God says in Psalm 104:4 that "waters above" are above heavenS. Plural. Flat earth doctrine says "waters above" are above the dome. You are welcome.

And in reference to psalms 104:4 The heavens with an "s" means the sky, where the sun, moon and stars are...and all that is inside the firmament, and the waters above are above it. The space between the waters is oxygen. It says the stars are either in the upper waters or are inside (part of) the firmament, depending on the translation. The Bible does indicate the earth is flat several times. God sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, the earth is his footstool, he is above all, the earth has foundations/pillars. Another key many miss is in new Jerusalem which the bible gives specific measurements to. It descends from heaven onto the earth, and according to a globe model the square shape of new Jerusalem would sit off the earths surface (including its entry gates) so either the bible is wrong or earth is flat. You cannot have globe earth and the bible side by side.

Or is God making people to be our footstools? Luke 20:43 "Till I make thine enemies thy footstool."? Footstool is metaphor of glory, might over someone or something in the context. "the earth has foundations/pillars." In the context? Pillars and foundations are often certain people, leaders of community. Or bedrock. Nothing flat here

@mikemental8285 many metaphors are used in scripture yes. But it does so as a means to bring attention to something or expound upon the importance of an idea. When explaining the earth, it's not using "pillars of the community" to explain he's orderly arrangement or immovability of earth/pillars/corners. The Firmament has never been described as anything but a solid form, what metaphor would that be for? Nothing? Nope.

Science shows that humans heal faster in a higher oxygen environment (though not 100%), and being in a high pressure (hyperbaric) environment can also benefit healing and oxygen absorption. Harmful bacteria cannot live in a high oxygen environment, so they die off in the body in such an environment. A vapor canopy could remove harmful solar radiation and help create a global greenhouse effect to create temperate conditions around the world. It's amazing how everything works like it should when you read the Bible.

This of course implies there are (or at least were) waters above the sky. However, there was no rain in the world before the flood, so the firmament cannot refer to clouds. Therefore, it probably refers to a high altitude vapor cloud that absorbed UV light and contributed to a global greenhouse effect.

@@deepwaters2334 That actually sounds better than the current defined answer to the firmament. A curved sky. This would imply the Earth is flat. Which is why most Bible readers think it is flat. The firmament separates the waters above from the waters below. To imply water was above earth during the beginning of scripture is to imply Stars were not seen. Stars barely make it through clouds. Waters above would not allow for the Glory that which is God and the work done, for me to see. Or you for that matter. The Old testament, The New Testament. KJVersion. NewBible Version, Scholars and Academics have gone so far as to remove and replace words in the Bible based on interpretation. Yet a single word which is not clear has no clarity. Science has shown barriers between solar systems and The edge of the Universe itself. Science Proves God. Scientists do not want to make that clear. So they disagree, publicly.

I don’t like added words in scripture. It says nothing about “SPACE”. I have more than one KJV.

(Psa 148:4) Praise Him, O heavens of heavens; and O waters that are above the heavens. The waters were still there in the psalmist's day and they are still there in ours.

@@mikemental8285 The water above is God's Heaven. Water is the way. The union with Jesus Christ is a Baptismal under water. The First Baptismal is with water. When Jesus Christ returns he will turn on a fountain. What does a fountain contain?

Deut 4:2. Ye shall not add unto the word which i command you, neither shall ye deminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you... ... Space?

So did the Earth start rotating after separation from light to darkness? There is no mention of movement of the planet in Genesis, and it is necessary to remind that separation between day and night occurred before the creation of the sun and the moon according to the biblical text. Summing up, that exposition of Genesis seems to be a little biased, though it looks very interesting.

The firmament is a solid structure that separates the waters above from the waters below.

On DAY ONE, God Created LIGHT...it was NOT the Sun (that was the 4th day ..). At that point there was only a void-and-formless Earth...and then LIGHT. On DAY TWO God created the FIRMAMENT. The Firmament was NOT space...it was a SOLID object that God took the WHOLE DAY to bring forth! It was described in the original language as being "spread out like hammered metal". The "waters above" existed BEFORE God made the Firmament and WAS actual 'space' itself! So the Firmament SEPARATED the waters of earth (the waters below) from 'SPACE' (the waters above). It was on the THIRD DAY of Creation when God brought forth the DRY LAND and separated it from the waters by gathering them together in their own places. That would obviously/logically have created a CONSIDERABLY huge empty space above the Earth for God to fill with air, and clouds. Seeing that afterwards He brought forth PLANT LIFE, the non-water plants would need a place to grow. Next logical thing God did on DAY FOUR was create the Sun, Moon, and Stars...the LIGHTS he made for the reasons He gave. Before the Sun came along, there already was light (from Day One...), but NOW the Sun became the MAIN source of light. On the FIFTH DAY God caused the WATERS to bring forth all manner of animals that live in, and use water - including ALL air breathing animals (like whales and dolphins, etc,). They were created out of the WATER. He also brought forth all FLYING animals, birds, bats, etc., and THESE were created from the AIR. On DAY SIX God created ALL land animals...these came from the GROUND, then from the dust of the ground, He made Adam and Eve. THAT is the ORDER God used. From this video, and I hope it's not intentional, but the speaker appears to be a Globe/Evolution apologist. Bible says that God made the Earth to NOT BE MOVED and that it was IMMOVABLE...therefore it CAN'T be either ROTATING or REVOLVING! You can't reconcile this Bible Doctrine with modern ideas of astronomy! Modern astronomy hinges on the 'big bang' theory that claims ALL MATTER was expelled, under great heat and pressure, from an unknown/unfathomable 'location'...that it 'eventually' cooled to become the different 'bodies/WHATEVER' that occupy NASA'S, (etc.) ideas of the 'universe' model.These are all supposedly spinning and revolving and doing a 'gravity dance' with each other. All that is the LINCHPIN of modern evolutionary theory. After 'accepting' all that, the NEXT 'leap of faith' was that, INEXPLICABLY, many things that never existed before, such as physical LAWS, various chemicals, and a great many other absolutely ESSENTIAL components (like water for instance) JUST 'came into being! HOW CONVENIENT!!! (Since it all happened by complete RANDOM CHANCE...). Then, after MILLIONS OF YEARS of rain falling on rocks, the JUST RIGHT components somehow 'got together' in a COMPLETELY RANDOM series of events, causing INANIMATE/DEAD MATERIALS to 'come alive'!!! Then afters MILLIONS of more years - that all, supposedly, formed a 'simple cell'...There's no SUCH THING as a SIMPLE CELL!. With modern science discovering dna, genomic sequences and how complex the neural network is, intelligent design is the only option. Evolution is falling over and has too many holes in it. I set my mind to understand what Genesis was saying and my KJV has a GREAT commentary section which exposed to me that the Firmament was something "spread out, like hammered metal" and then I knew it had to be a solid object, and VERY SIGNIFICANT since God took a WHOLE DAY to create it. Realizing that this is an age of GREATEST DECEPTION I believe that VERY MUCH of the 'information' we receive is extremely spurious! Especially the stuff put out by NASA and their ILK...so much so that I lean heavily to what is MISNAMED as 'flat earth theory'. The EARTH is not flat, the WATER is! The only credibility I can give to Earth being a globe is that, if it actually is, then God did it and could make EITHER 'theory' work PERFECTLY fine. At sites like Bible Hub you can compare all the major translations side-by side. Each word or word phrase has been given a number so that you can see the original definitions from the original languages the text was written in. The Bible is the bestselling book every year and of all time. God can keep His Word intact.

Question is the firmament the space within our atmosphere or within our galaxy or is it within our universe and the 1st heaven is above our universe. I think the firmament is the space that where our universe stops and we are not supposed to go beyond our universe which is the 1st heaven. We have water within our universe or space, so that is the waters that was devided. We can travel only within this universe but not above it or outside of our universe. The Sun and moon and planets are in our galaxy along with the waters that filters down to nourish the planets in our universe and on our planet. Is this what meant by God when he created everything before he created Man.

🤔 well that would make sense with how the flood happened, so when he opened up the sky to make it rain, all that water that was separated in the beginning fell back to earth. Then after the flood he raised the land out of the water 🤔

raqia means expanse, as in a stretched out "surface" similar to how Job describes it. It's simply referring to the sky/space

I have a question. Why are we saying God was speaking about the planet Earth and not about our galaxy or the universe at large? Seems to me there is more there…

It wasnt a layer of vapor it was a layer of ice. It would be far too cold that high above the surface to be anything else. It being ice is how it blocked UV light and doubled the air pressure

There are three separate heavens. God made the heavens and the Earth. The firmament is a spiritual divide between the tangible first heaven, the visible one we live under,.. and the second heaven where angels and demons are locked in continuous battle which we can't see,.. and the third heaven where God's throne is at. That's why when you pray, sometimes it takes time for an answer to come to you. That's because there are evil forces at work in a spiritual realm that try to block prayers. Hoping the question of a firmament is resolved is not as important as the hope of getting into the THIRD heaven. Concentrate on getting your name written into the book of life, that'll get all your questions answered. 😊

His Covenant with Noah, his descendants, all walks of life on Earth, and all of Mankind thereafter, declaring He would never again destroy Earth and all of its inhabitants by flood. God placed among the clouds in the sky His Rainbow as a remembrance of that promise of his Covenant to keep forever. Not just to Mankind, but every animal too. They'd all remember after every rain where we'd ALL see His Rainbow, the symbol of that Covenant Promise. Later, Lucifer defiled and destroyed each Covenant tie God had made. Look at the perverse ways people who revel in their sins use and abuse the rainbow!

i recently had a dream /vision that i seen water pouring from the sky , i don’t remember much except feeling like i was in an infinity free fall like i was weightless and moved with a swiftness unlike no other, my brother who has read a little more of the bible pointed it out that it may of be the firmament mentioned in the book of genesis, i love how the most high works in wonders blessed to be able to find faith no matter what that the signs and blessings the most high gives us , shalom🙏🏽 -Fabi

Before saying things like “gravity is a theory” do your research on what the word theory means in a scientific contexts. Too many people wave around the word theory as if it simply means an idea. This is all I wanted to say though. I really do not care for the back and forth of how things work on a flat earth without gravity or anything of the sort. Have a good day.

Shouldn’t have to compromise the word to make it fit. This is done out of fear that trusting the word for what it says, will make you look foolish in the eyes of man. This explanation makes the Bible make less sense. You would have to explain job36-38 where God give description on how he made the earth. I’m disappointed

These verses show God created the Earth perfectly as an established complete work ready to be inhabited because he does NOT create in vain. If He created the world and it was at first in a state of ruin, desolate, or void then there would be contradictions with both Ezras and Isiah.

Ok. No offense to any religion, I respect your right to believe what you will, but I'm trying to make sense of this scientifically? If there were water, in an absolute zero vacuum, wouldn't it be frozen? If it were frozen (a shell of ice likely 100s of miles thick) how could we see the cosmos? How do we witness rocks coming from 100,000 miles away and collide with our atmosphere, then hit the ground? Again, I'm not trying to dissuade anyone. I'm only wondering how a believers view holds up empirically. Or do you believe, perhaps, that we're being duped somehow by the scientific community?

Most of the scientific theories are without evidence. The earth spins really fast and zooms through space. Where is the evidence for that? Our planet is millions of years old, we came for a big bang. Where is the evidence? We evolved from monkeys slowly over millions of years. And by the way, why do monkeys still exist if that's the case. Where is the evidence? The bible clearly teaches that the sun moves; not the earth. In Jeremiah, he stopped the sun from moving. Where is the evidence that the sun moves? Our eyes. We can see it clearly. Two lights that God created - he put them in the sky. Is the sky millions of miles away? Of course not. Where is the evidence for God putting the sun and moon in the sky, close to us? Our eyes! So the recurring theme here is; 'science' seems to, and without any evidence at all, directly go against what the bible teaches.

Jesus Christ is the word and living body of God. God does not kill. God condemns to hell. As God did Lucifer, as God will all evil doers. Death to the human body is not death to God. That is the wisdom and knowledge of the Holy spirit which is God.

If sun and moon are opposite of each other, then there would not be any eclipse.

This is almost blasphemous.

I like this guy, and have watched some of his other videos, but I disagree with his interpretation of cosmology. It seems clear to me that the Bible teaches that the earth is flat and stationary, there’s a dome shaped firmament above it, and the sun, moon and stars move in the firmament. The question is whether we believe the Bible or the inventions and imaginations of godless “scientists”.

God also said that the Earth is on pillars and it's unmovable so if it's unmovable then that means it's not spinning like a ball

This is a little contrary to what God has demonstrated to me,,, this man is giving a private interpretation of what these scriptures are saying.

Understanding the Firmament. Earth was created under a Dome holding in the Firmament. (enclosure 1) Then Nephilim surfaced. A "wall" was built to contain the water of the Flood. (enclosure 2) After the flood Nephilim surfaced again. A smaller Dome was then added. (enclosure 3) At Judgement the smaller Dome will be removed revealing the ORIGINAL Firmament and Dome. The Original Dome has the "riff" where the water torrents opened. Sounds complicated? Just think of the depth of the deception of the "spinning ball of water" I recommend those who wish to see Scripture for this read Enoch 89 first then Enoch 93. Enoch 93 takes us from the last Judgement cycle to the end of this Judgement cycle. Hope some will see, Enoch (Priest & Prophet)

Book Of Enoch is antichrist text. Here you have one of many proofs of that: Book of Enoch 40:9 "who is set over all the powers, is Gabriel: " So Book of Enoch says, ALL THE POWERS ARE SET ON GABRIEL. Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. ALL POWER is given to Jesus, according to the Word Of God. Book of enoch 40:9 "and the fourth, who is set over the repentance unto hope of those who inherit eternal life, is named Phanuel" Act 4:12 "and there is salvation in no other One, for neither is there any other name (Jesus) under Heaven having been given among men by which we must be saved." 1 John 5:13-14 " I wrote these things to you, the ones believing in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have everlasting life, and that you may believe in the name of the Son of God."

I think you are misinterpreting the book of Enoch. Here is Enoch 40:9 = 9. "The second is he who presides over every suffering and every affliction of the sons of men, the holy Raphael. The third, who presides over all that is powerful, is Gabriel. And the fourth, who presides over repentance, and the hope of those who will inherit eternal life, is Phanuel. These are the four angels of the most high God, and their four voices, which at that time I heard." It seems to say that Gabriel is in a position of authority over mankind on earth. Now, in Matthew 28:18, Jesus Christ says "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me." So that is a bit different. Also, note that Jesus says that it has been GIVEN to Him. Perhaps it could have been passed on from Gabriel to Jesus Christ? Either way, there is no evidence to suggest that the book of Enoch is antichrist text. And as for Phanuel who presides over repentance, well it does not say at all that there is salvation IN Phanuel. It could just mean that Phanuel is in charge of helping the people who have eternal life to repent. It does not imply that Phanuel GIVES people eternal life.@@mikemental8285

It says (an angel to this person) "you are the Son of Man". 😉 who is this? I cannot put links. KZread doesn't allow links here. There are many articles about origin of Book of Enoch. It has been reseached quite much. Most likey multiple authors, 300-100 bce. Some says parts of BoE was written even 100-200 AD

* It's implied. If there's a day and a night, either the sun is racing around the earth, or the earth is rotating as a top would on a fixed axis. The rotation is always in the same direction, that is horizontally not vertically. This rotation doesn't meander about, it's very constant.

Try to put yourself in the place of mankind during the time the scriptures were written. Just because the scriptures reference this planet by names such as, earth or world, that still doesn't negate the fact that the earth is a planet.
