What can I do if my left nostril is perpetually clogged? When I tried this practice I kind of felt like I was gasping for air.

That's very common. Try breathing in slower and softer through your blocked nostril, the more gently you can try to pull the air in, the more it may actually get through. If there's still no air going through, try a pratiloma variation where you try to breathe in very slowly and softly through your blocked nostril but then switch to your open nostril for a small, slow sip of air and then switch back to the closed nostril. Do this a few times (switching back and forth) throughout one entire inhale. Repeat until your blocked nostril begins to open. This is good for switching up your nasal cycle and for clearing blockages. Hope it helps!

Pranayama is something that is supposed to taste good, but doesn't.
