"Post psychadelic rock with metallica" It's a fair point on my part, and Svart I'm not so sure your point even has anyway to hold water, I mean if you went on the street and said "listen to this"... now "listen to this" they'd literally say: "Sounds like angry person music to me" vocals are the first thing anyone is gonna notice, so if you got that high-mid pitch growls that's traditional of black metal.

Post grunge vs grunge alice in chains >godsmack. There is alot of post punk grunge sounds in post black metal alot of odd suspended minor chords ect ect.

After listening to the album "Jeszcze nie mamy na was pomysłu", I didn't know what happened and I lost the desire to do everything ... I was wondering for a moment whether to stop breathing but some remnants of my instinct told me that I wanted to continue living. This band breaks everything but especially when you "understand" the lyrics. Po przesłuchaniu albumu "Jeszcze nie mamy na was pomysłu" nie wiedziałem co się stało i straciłem ochotę na wszystko... Zastanawiałem się przez krótką chwilę czy nie przestać oddychać ale jakieś resztki instynktu powiedziały mi że chcę dalej żyć. Ta kapela rozwala wszystko ale zwłaszcza gdy "zrozumie się" tekst.

A post Black metal band I have enjoyed is the Slovak band "Autumn Nostalgie - Esse Est Percipi" album very hipsterish name but enjoyed the album none the less.

.Neon by Lantlôs is a post black metal album well worth listening to. In fact, all their albums are great. Fen are another great band, and idk if Convulsing counts because they sound more death metal, but they're also quite good.

Interesting, wicked melodies between the riffs. And also, great work recording the drums, You're getting better all the time!

To me, Post-Black Metal can either sound good, or not depending on their sound and the mood it brings. Most elitists _hate_ it since sometimes the mood would not have some (or all) of its sinister, evil, bleak, and cold sound. Hence, some would refer it as "Soy Metal."

Elitists of any kind spew a lot of bullshit, but every now and then, hidden beneath that bullshit, is a gold nugget of a take, that can actually create interesting discussion. Of course, not everyone's willing to search through bullshit for that nugget, but that's fine too. Each to our own.

@@wolrenn You know it's not all bad, but I will agree with the majority of your comment. I'll add the mistake is in a few things: the vocalist gets tunnel vision on direction of growls, or either lack of ability. The drummer is okay at best, but doesn't know how to time proper fills, and his style doesnt shift with the changing guitar/bass times or create any dimension other than one direction. Black metal is meant to have distorted recording, that's fine, but like you said there needs to be composition. More composition.

@@wolrenn alcest sound is beautiful, when bosse-de-nage sounds more dynamic and agressive, but I don't know if it will be possible to single out the best group. It's just that everyone has their own taste, their own, let everyone have their own opinion, I don't think you can judge a band by one album.

Usually when I think of blackgaze bands like Deafheaven, Numenorean, Alcest, Harakiri for the Sky, Mol comes to mind. Imo post-black are bands similar like Altar of Plagues, Hope Drone, White Ward, Wittr, Ash Borer, Ultha, and if one stretches it a little bit, Trna and Downfall of Gaia

If more post black sounded like this, then I'd listen to it a lot more. Your vocals sounded a lot like the agalloch vocalist to me which is cool. They're a good representation of the genre to me. It's quite funny how deafheaven have dropped the "black" influence completely and turned in to an indie rock band 😂

The technical definition of post- would be a deconstruction of that genre. Although in many situations the deconstruction of a certain genre also follows a certain trend which results in a new genre on its own. For example post rock usually is identified by instrumental, ambient, non-traditional song structure while avoiding the technicality of progressive rock. Loathe's latest album could also be called "post-metalcore" although such genre doesn't really exist. In post blackmetal's case it's usually identiied by straying away from the traditional themes of black metal and (ironically) good production quality.

Post does not refer to after, it refers to a specific set of riffs and timings that makes up the post genre. Post-Black Metal should more be referred to as Blackened Post Metal as it does exactly the same thing Blackened Death Metal did, just with Post Metal. If you go and listen to the big names in the Post Metal scene (Neurosis, Isis, Cult of Luna, The Ocean) and get the feel for the structure, you'll hear the same thing once you go back and listen to Deafhaven, Alcest, etc. Don't just skim the wiki page, it's made by people who hate Post related genres.
