There can be multiple ECUs in a vehicle to control different activities including Engine operations, Infotainment,Steering,Body control,Cluster etc. Engine Control Unit ECU is used for Engine control...ECU as such is not just Engine control unit....It is one of the many ECUs available in a vehicle
