Locomotive engine ലും EGR ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്... പഴയ എഞ്ചിൻ ഇൽ ഉണ്ടായിക്കോളണം എന്നില്ല.. ഏത് മേഖലയിൽ ആയാലും ഒരു internal combustion engine ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്ന നൈട്രജൻ oxide എമിഷൻ കുറക്കേണ്ടത് അനിവാര്യമാണ്.. ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ എമിഷൻ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്ന ഒന്നാണ് ലോക്കോമോട്ടീവ് ഡീസൽ engine.. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഇനി കൂടുതൽ ഇലക്ട്രിക് ട്രെയിനുകൾ ആയിരിക്കും..
