Fun fact: despite some research fails, this comic is wildly popular over here in Russia and Ukraine and it's mainly because of Batman's hat. It's like, yeah! Finally an American writer gets it! Ushankas aren't just for aesthetic, we actually need them! Also I love how both the changes they made to Batman's and Superman's personalities actually make sense, it's not just random bullshit.

Just to clarify Lex's obsession with Superman starts when a cloned version of Superman beats him in chess. Obviously Lex' ego can not fathom someone else being smarter than him. edit- Also, the point of sending Superman back was to prevent the future destruction of the planet. He failed, because Lex took over, but it also meant that Lex's machinations and plans were also a failure, because his society evolved into a "cold complacent lot" who refused to listen to Jor-El's warning.

Like its a fun what if but as a brit myself it feels a little "american writing about Britain based on steriotypes" but also "person writing a comic who has never read or particularly care about comics". Like the difference between an American and British superman are very subtle but destinct. Like we face the same problems of nationalism, corrupt governments, classism and class divide, racism, transphobia and lgbt issues ect. The difference is the cultural attitude. In america there's this whole American dream, you can go to the city and make it. We don't have this. Our cultural attitude us that it won't happen to you and that you won't be heard.

I'm from Chile too. I think it the other way around. We were the first country to democratically elect a communist president. If Red Son is about turning things around, Chile might've ended up siding with US because, even it was for 2 years, we were a huge menace to the States and the only country that by popular vote decided to say no to capitalism...which eventually led to the US doing everything in their power to gain control of the country, succeeding and having a big influence for a looong as time.

Another great episode....but that's not how time travel works xD as soon as Superman was sent back in time it would create an alternate timeline. There are infinite pasts and timelines that are identical to Supermans past there is no way Jor-L could have known which one was the correct timeline. And because there are infinite timelines, infinite causality loops dont really exist. Or at least thats one theory of how time works.

I REAAAALLY wanted to get into a discussion about how micro-black holes actually do radiate energy, and how they also can't persist for more than fractions of a second in nature, but it was beyond the scope of this episode.

Lex Luthor being the savior of humanity reminds me of something that Hugh Laurie said about the House character "He is only doing good as a side effect of his obsession, had House found say arms dealing to suit him more than medicine then he would have been the worst person in the world." with Lex being the opposite. The twist ending could have been so much better and that takes just a little bit away from this great story otherwise very cool and as always great job in storytelling TV Little house crew

Speaking of Grant Morrison. Can you do some of his runs on Back Issues? JLA Rock of Ages comes to mind. Or better yet! His X-men run! I would love to see the guys reaction when you say "So he takes off his helmet and it turns out he was M****** the whole effing time". It would be epic.
