I have always loved reading but I never put aside the time to actually research good books and read. I’m now putting down my phone and taking time to read for enjoyment. I love it
😍 i miss your elequent talk❤
I’ve been writing comments on as many of your VEVO videos that you have a KZread channel. It’s weird how many hard core fans that don’t know this.
I'm having a strange day. I dreamed of Amerie, looked her up, and found out she has a KZread channel. I feel really connected to her right now. It's 7am in California I need to eat breakfast.
My heart rises when I see a new video of yours, Amerie. I've been looking at my old read copy of Animal Farm for ages now! I really really would love to re-read it and 1984, and completely agree that while they're books everyone has read by now, they're always such succinct reminders of what we are as a society and where we could be headed.
Hearing you talk about books makes me wanna join a book club!!
" I only read about 20 books..." that statement puts me to shame lol I promise I'm gonna read more. I like politics and self help though....I wonder if that counts.....

jeremycarterpowell I only read self help books, I used to hate reading before I was introduced to them. I feel like fiction is a waste of my time usually and I don’t take anything away from them.

@Major Key unfortunately not. I'm not American (from South Africa) so i follow politics internationally, but i don't really specialise in any country. I read these awesome books that take a large scale look at specific issues--education systems, the socioeconomic divide, the caste system in India, meritocracy and how it works--damn, it's awesome to learn this stuff. Based on the sound of the book, you may like the youtubers who deal with American politics? There are loads and some of them are eloquent and well spoken.
I can’t wait to read these books I love when you do these videos
Am I the only one who has the Amazon page open next to this? I ordered most of them
You're absolutely on point about the fact that privilege allows people to label and file important issues away in a dust bin. SUBSCRIBED.
You should read Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Ademeyi

NaturallyNerdeeNicol There’s going to be a sequel, it’s coming out this spring I believe. Check Amazon!!
Hearing you talk about Matt Haig - sci fi meets literary fiction, makes me think you might like Life after Life by Kate Atkinson. Historical fiction, literary and sci fi about a girl who lives her life over and over. So good.
I had a similar reaction to Commonwealth. I could have been critical but I found some profound quotes in her prose that made me think about the limits and benefits of relationships
I love to read as well. Your thorough analysis is helpful when there are so many books to choose from. It helps
I love how you love SFF novels. I do too! Thank you for sharing this part of yourself. Adding How to Stop Time and Foundryside to my list. P.S Congratulations on your new addition to the family.
Ann Patchett needs to make it onto my TBR... I have a lot of her books, but I’ve read zero! Animal Farm is one of my favorite classics - and you are so right about it’s power right now. You make me want to read Matt Haig!! Persepolis is amazing!! Powerfully straight to the heart.
You’re so pretty, I can listen to you talk all day
Thanks for sharing your standouts Amerie! I love Fantasy and Science-Fiction the most. Can't wait to read your book and hear more about it as well. If you are in need of any recommendations, The Shadow Reader and Shades of Treason series by Sandy Williams are some of my favs. Going to add Foundryside to my list for sure. It sounds really interesting. Oh, also loving the new album, Curious is my jam right now!!
Your take on Patchett’s Commonwealth was perfect! Although I can see how some others would read it and not feel determined to read anything else by her. My entry into her work was Bel Canto. Absolutely floored me. Please read it and let us know what you think.... Glad you’re back reviewing and talking books. I really feel your passion for them. Happy reading!
YES! I been waiting for your booktube return.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is very entertaining, definitely recommend it! I’ve been meaning to read The Vegetarian ever since you talked about it in a video a while back, and every time you mention it again it’s a reminder for me to pick it up😊
Wow I've only just discovered your KZread channel!! I love your music and now I see you're a book worm as well 😍 yay, so excited to hear your recommendations 💕💕
'A Heart is for the Breaking' is my favorite song. Thank you for dropping those green and pink albums.
I love you so much !!! “ 🎶One Look one Touch And Baby I’m Through “ 🎶
How To Stop Time sounds amazing. Adding it to my list. Ooh, and I'm loving your new albums!💜
I loved this. I think I should something similar to review my standouts for 2018. I also gave myself the Goodreads challenge of 50 books and I’m only on 32 now 🙈 I’ve added Persepolis, How to Stop Time and Animal Farm to my list to read this year. I’ve noted the rest for 2019’s challenge. Can’t wait to see more videos like this and I do think you should start a virtual book club. Oh and I’d just added Embers of Ashes to my to read list so very excited to hear your review.😊
Hello Amerie. Huge fan of your music/channels. The comment you said about the fall or rise of evolution, it actually the same thing but in different circumstances in life.
I’m reading Stephen Kings “ The Outsider” at the current moment but I’m for sure grabbing a couple of the books you talk about in this video!!! So glad you’re back!!! 💕
😂😂 the way you popped off on Siri
You are dropping some GEMS in this video! Like... Life is a circle/cycle on a pendulem. // It's not political for some people, it's life. 😍
Welcome back.Animal Farm is one of my favorite books of all time. At the moment I'm reading The Hate U Give.:)
Love Amerie... A great artist that the industry struggled from over and over again..
Great video. Really loved what you said re: generational pendulum swinging when speaking about PERSEPOLIS (we need to find you somewhere to stream the film! 😂). You've been dropping wisdom/truth bombs lately... excited to read your prospective projects! HOW TO STOP TIME is on my TBR. Now I'm thinking I need to bump it up to the front of the line. I recently finished LESS by Andrew Sean Greer, and thought it was fantastic. Whimsical in structure and hilariously narrated, but heartfelt and heartbreaking underneath the whimsy and humor. And so many takeaways! Have you read it? Currently reading GOOD AND MAD by Rebecca Traister. Thought a good nonfiction feminist manifesto might be an interesting counterpoint to LESS 😶
Ameriiiiiieeeee what a gift to have you hear.
You are so gorgeous also I need to get my hands on An Ember in the Ashes series!
Love your new EP!!
Just added how to stop time to my TBR ✅ I’m sold
Girlllllllllll!! I couldn't find the time to read 10 books this year and here you are... Giving birth, being a bomb ass mommy, put out 2 albums AND finding the time to read almost 30 books?? You are awesome A!! Supermommy!*high five✋* Thanks for sharing! Gonna write some of these down on my TBR🤗😊🤓 😂😂@ "Siri! I didn't ask you anything!" Much love always ❤️-Angie Edit* P.S Can't wait to read your new novels. I know they are still a ways out, but any idea of when to look out for them?
Love Your videos. Can you include links to the books? Congrats to you and Lenny on your baby.
Persepolis,good choice!
How have I not seen your videos before. I’m trying so hard to get back into reading. ❤️
Ooo might add Persepolis on my reading list!

How good was Reaper at the Gates! Wow!! Loved your thoughts on the political. That really made me think. Thanks for that. Hope you and the little one are doing well!!
I just finished reading Vicious and Vengeful by VE Schwab. It was an exciting reading experience. I just started the Belles by Dhonielle Clayton.
You need to read Bel Canto ASAP!!! Such an amazing story. Great video, thanks for sharing!
"Ive only read 23 ....books" girl don't drag me like that I am ashamed 😭😭😭
Hey! I just found your channel! I love discovering other Booktubers! Subscribed!!!
2 books I suggest: The Women of Sugar Hill & Unspoken Words From a Daddyless Daughter
I missed your book videos soooo much!! ❤️💕 How do you find time to read? You have an album out and you're a new mom and all that on top of a lot more i'm sure! You're amazing! I'm lucky if I get a few pages read a day or even a week :/
Strange the Dreamer and Muse of Nightmares are phenomenal! I wasn’t initially in the mood either, but when I was and I picked up the book, it was pure magic.
Laws of attraction I was JUST running out of books to read this popped in my recommendations 😍 Tfs!
Commonweath is on mountain TBR, I know Mercedes loved it and now I know you did I will have to get to it. I cannot believe I have not read a Patchett yet. I read Animal Farm at school and hated it, I wonder if I would like it more now? I have the Moshfegh on the TBR, I haven't had quite the right mood for it yet but it will happen.
I have been so busy lately A, so I haven't had much time either so I suppose I will read one of your favorites.
Honestly your such an inspiration for me too read more, Love Ya!!
Missed you girl! 🙂

I´m a huge sci-fi book lover, one of my favorites it´s called "Blood and Ice" by Robert Masello. I will get some of those you have :D It´s nice to be one of your fans for years, and it´s even better knowing that you read sci-fi *_*
