    I attended a summer potluck many years ago. The host couple provided a watermelon. Many of the guests got food poisoning. After calling the guests on the day after the event, the hostess deduced that the watermelon was the cause of their illness. I did not eat the watermelon, and did not get sick. Scrubbing the rind of the watermelon is not a step to skip. Any bacteria on the exterior of the melon can contaminate the inner flesh upon cutting into it. Live and learn. Be well everybody!

    Rosie, you are so needed in this community! I never comment, but I just have to thank you for courageously and unashamedly sharing a balanced view of the vegan/raw lifestyle. I relate to what you have been through in so many ways and your journey is inspiring me on my own healing journey. So many people forget that healing is multi-faceted and I love how you bring so many aspects of that to the table; emotional well-being, nervous-system regulation, nutrition, balance, self-care, etc. Really looking to forward to more content!

    I think is important to pay attention to what your body feels like but also make those anual blood tests. I have experimenting with fully raw, high raw and Dr Goldner green smoothies for years now, while also checking my blood, my mood and my disposition. And, at least for me, what works the best is drinking a big fully packed green smoothie (with lots of green varieties, fruits and supplements for vegans added!) during the day and in the afternoon to have a high raw meal (with salads, cooked or steamed vegetables, potatos, grains and beans). After that I fast. My tests are looking amazing and in general my mental health have improved amazingly. Also, I don't have cravings or feel hungry after the final meal. Being healthy also implies in adapting, changing and experimenting new things, and that's ok. 🌻🌼🏵

    Enjoyed your video! I was wondering if you'd be willing to share if and how you fixed your gumline issues as I had the same problem but would prefer to not get fillings or major dental work. Acidic fruit was most likely the culprit here as well 😮‍💨

  • @rosieheals

    @rosieheals

    Sorry to hear that, it's so possible to do some good restorative work though, I find through diligence, mindfulness and ditching some dentist dogma. For the record, I had gum line recession long before this lifestyle too, even having had a gum graph. Those acidic fruit sugars sitting on the teeth just exacerbated the existing issue. Firstly, I saw a great holistic-ish dentist and I now have regular cleanings (after 6+ years of not seeing one). Lean into this and get the prevention stuff locked in. I started brushing more frequently after meals (but keep brushing very soft) and use "Boka" toothpastes, which utilize nano-hydroxyapatite - one of the mineral forms that your body uses to build tooth enamel. It is a naturally occurring form of calcium apatite, and it makes up the majority of bone structure in addition to tooth enamel. I leave these on for at least a half hour after brushing before I rinse my mouth. I use a high quality D + K2 intermittently. I floss much more frequently. I use an electric toothbrush. I intermittently utilize mouth washes that contain mineral-building properties, soothing essential oils and Xylitol. Sometimes spend 10 minutes just swishing with peppermint/clove water. People say oil pulling works wonders, I just haven't done it consistently enough (but want to). Have used Living Libations Ozonated Happy Gum Gel for years now. I am more mindful about frequency and duration of food/meals. Creating adequate blocks of time when there is nothing on my teeth, post Boka brushing, has been supportive. I focus on busting my biofilms in certain seasons - at the very least garlic, oregano and onion in abundance are helpful ingredients to consume. I try to turn to deep diaphragmatic breathing often - proper oxygenation is so important for this whole process. General stress reduction if you are a grinder

    Was salt something you had to get used to after eating mostly fruit? and if so, how do you get the body used to eating more salt again.

  • @rosieheals

    @rosieheals

    6 күн бұрын

    I never fully removed salt, at least not intentionally. I did Bikram yoga throughout my raw journey and always felt good about consuming traces of salts. There may have been very limited salt time frames or unknown phases of abstinence but I generally consume high-quality salt in small amounts. So no adjustment over here.
