Best method I've found for cooking Spanish is to do the cedar plank method. Soak the fillets in Italian dressing and place on a cedar plank. Grill for 20-25 minutes. Remove fillets and place into trash, then eat the plank

Great video, thanks for posting it. I just bought 6 packs of those float hooks (2 of each. Orange/yellow, Green/yellow and pink/purple) for an upcoming trip to Florida, but I also want to try them out up here in Michigan to see how some of the fish up here like them. I am hoping that the walleye like them as much as the pompano do. ;)

It looks like this camera is more stable than the Go Fish. Is it or does it just look like it because you have it slowed down?

It’s slowed down, stability will be dependent on the current and wave height. It’s lighter @1.5 ounces which makes it a whole lot easier to cast.

Tony when are the fishgum straps coming back in stores?

Are the float hooks working better than regular float rigs for you?

Tony, love these videos. I feel that I learn sooo much from these. It is amazing the amount of fish out there. I was very surprised by that puffer. I never would have thought that is what was stealing my bait. I also thought it was kind of funny how he kept taking those little bites almost as if he knew exactly what he was doing. So I have a question and would like some thoughts. At around the 11:15 mark when that pomp kept spitting the bait and not getting hooked. Do you think he can only do that due to the hook being part of the float and he just got lucky with the angle on the spit and did it just right to where the hook didn't grab. Or is it normal to see them able to bite and spit multiple times regardless of the rig? I have been using float hooks for quite a while now but I was drilling out the end of a bullet float so it would fit over the top of the hook. It works great but I am digging the look of these surfpro hooks. As far as the spanish go they aren't my favorite fish but I feel like they are edible if you eat them fresh.
