wow Tony, nice haul on the runt! I am so envious of that rough surf you faced that day, those 8" crashing curls had to be rough! I like that camera, I will have to check it out! (you know how many toys I have gotten following you?) Keep up the wonderful efforts, we sure do enjoy your adventures!

Hey Tony, I've watched some of your videos and I thank you for all that you share. I have a question, since I've also watched many other anglers mainly from the States, why is it that you folks in the U.S. don't use Octopus as bait when surf fishing? To me, that's the best bait there is. I've seen some people use squid, which also works pretty well, but Octopus is even better. So, why is that? Why don't you guys use Octopus? Thanks!

Tony I don't know if I've ever mentioned this but I have caught dozens of slot red fish on ghost crab fish gum alone I use it on my pompano rigs just like I am fishing for pompano on my double drop rigs with a fluorescent float. I actually won a red drum tournament using nothing but ghost shrimp fish gum

Yeah I’ve tried multiple baits, especially early in the day when we haven’t figured out what the fish are feeding on yet. The redfish I caught on the GoFishCam rig bit on a sandflea on our float hooks 😁

Great video as always! If you're wanting to target those big reds with the camera, I would suggest using a half or quarter crab. Reds with happily eat them and you have a shot with a big ugly too. And as far as the runt rod with Carolina rig, I much prefer to use a Carolina style or split shot rig. It gives your bait a much more natural presentation allowing it to sway more freely in the water compared to a dropper rig keeping your bait more stiff and lacking motion. When you watch the particulate in the water washing by, that's what their eyes are more focused on

And that’s so awesome that you caught that whole school of redfish on camera!

That bait doesn't seem too appealing to the 89 fish that passed it by.

That's fishing. You have your good days and you have your bad days just like anyone else and just like anything else in life. I've had days which I catch 0 fish, others I catch 3 fish, others I catch only 1. I've noticed that folks in the States don't use, what's in my opinion, the best bait in the world: Octopus. Chop pieces of it and put em on your hooks, that's it.
