I love to share my ever changing life around food. Not every day is perfect, balanced or nourishing, but this is life and that is okay. We tend to think we can or should eat exactly the same everyday to be “ healthy” to feel “accomplished” and that is self love. But the reality is everyday is a new day and with a new day comes different emotions, life events etc… The goal should never be “perfection”, it should be to show yourself love and kindness everyday, never giving up on yourself and putting your energy into at least one thing that makes you feel you’re best!

Last weeks “what I eat in a week” video:

( granola recipe + mushroom rice recipe )
matcha I use: matcha.com/collections/tea/pr...

Hojicha Tea Powder - Organic Roasted Hojicha Powder:

Soup recipe:
1 tbsp oil
1/4 large onion
1 carrot
3 cups mushrooms
2" ginger ( minced )
4 cloves garlic ( minced )
3/4 cup cashews ( soaked for 20 minutes than blended with 3 cups water )
salt and pepper to taste ( more than you think!! )
1 tsp chilli flakes ( or to taste )
1 cup tamarind sauce ( 3 tbsp tamarind paste + 2 cups hot water mixed really well )
3 cups water
2 tsp coriander
1/3 cup fresh basil ( roughly chopped )
6-7 baby bokchoy
1.5 cups butter beans
rice noodles ( only cook how much you will eat right away! )
Soak cashews in hot water for about 20 minutes and chop veggies
Sauté onion, carrot, mushroom, ginger and garlic in 1 tbsp oil. Until mushrooms are browned. Once they are, add salt, pepper and chilli flakes. Sauté for a couple more mins, blend cashews with water until creamy and smooth. Add tamarind, water, creamy cashew sauce, coriander, basil and beans ( if you don't want your beans to get to mushy wait until you're about to serve it ) - taste as you go and add more salt pepper, chilli flakes, basil etc.. make it your own!!
cook with a lid for 20-30 minutes. Add bokchoy and cook for 10 more minutes! serve with rice noodles and enjoy

Hey, Julia. You probably won't see this, but I just wanted to let you know that I've been really down and depressed, and I recently started watching your videos. You inspired me to come home from work and actually treat myself by cooking a meal instead of searching for the easiest route with as little effort as possible which has not been the best or healthiest option and has just been making me feel even worse. I came home, sauteed some mushrooms, red cabbage, and carrots with BALSAMIC VINEGAR (life-changing😉) and had it on top of a toasted bagel with the best avocado I think I've ever had. I just sat down at my table in front of my window and enjoyed it with some sunshine instead of going to sit in front of the TV and dissociating for the rest of the night. I also went for a walk after dinner and am feeling a lot better. It was all inspired by the light that you're spreading even if you're going through a rough patch. I just want you to know how much positive energy you're spreading because it has made a world of difference for me today which is no small feat. Sending you so much love. Thanks, girl. 💗

I’m a 57 yo plant-based Cajun from South Louisiana who just loves you! Wish I’d known about this way of eating when I was your age! Isn’t it strange how most restaurants have no clue how to make tasty plant-based food. Something so simple as a vegetable wrap was bland. CRAZY! Again, I just ❤️ you! Keep up the great work! Then, the melting point of water falls only very slightly, but that is enough to cause the ice under you to melt, allowing you to glide over the ice. As soon as the pressure is removed, the ice refreezes

ahh i sooo feel the family dynamic when ur the only plant based person..... when i was 16 and first stepped into this world it destroyed me hearing all the remarks about my diet, even when the comments mean no harm they can get to ya, but my mindset is completely different now and my fam has had had some epic vegan meals and are starting to truly understand and of course have alwayssss been so supportive no matter what, but still living with 3 non plant people i do sometimes just prefer to cook and eat in peace haha. ordering at restaurants can become almost like a fun lil game too ;)

i've been on a journey towards a fully plant-based diet for a couple years now, but your videos have helped me so much with feeling less scared to experiment and just have fun with cooking. i used to hate cooking and avoided whole foods to avoid prep - now i look forward to chopping up my veggies and making each meal. also, my overeating has gotten under control thanks to your "intuitive" approach, and i just appreciate that so, so much. thank you for sharing your bright outlook on life, food, and taking care of yourself ♥♥

Going out to eat as a vegan is okay sometimes but I wouldn’t willingly be like let’s go out to eat like every week😭
vegan food sucks outside, you said it girls jajajajajaj i love cooking and preparing really good stuff ……buuut when you are at a really good vegan restaurant i am just flipping out for all this heavenly spicy colourful and healthy food 😍

For sure :) there’s so many other protein sources: tempeh, seitan, edamame, lentils, chickpeas, all kinds of beans, mock meats, hemp seeds etc
Lol the struggle of eating out with non vegans. I just came home from an all inclusive resort in Mexico and I ordered veggie fajitas no meat and the waiter looked at me like I had three heads 🤦🏼♀️
I have never felt more seen than when Julia looked into the camera and said "you're a little crooked"

What kind of workout and it's in a gym? Be careful with the cashews, it containes lots of fat and attacts your liver. Cashews in moderation.
Over the past few years the vegan community on youtube has been hit with this unhealthy obsession with protein. It's like I can't watch a single video anymore without the advertisement of a high protein product or talk of high protein meals. Yes you need protein but not that much (about 0.8g/kg) in other words people can be get 3x the minimum optimal amount of protien living off whole wheat (or even white flour) beans are healthy for many reasons but being high in protein is not one of them.
