What Has Happened To The Love For America? - Jack Carr

Jack Carr is a former United States Navy SEAL, outdoor adventurer and author of The Terminal List series.
The lives of Navy SEALs have been romanticised on screen and in books for decades. But what is life behind-the-scenes actually like? Just how accurate are the dramatisations? And why does no one love the military any more?
Expect to learn the details of Jack's narrowest escape from death, what are the biggest myths and misconceptions surrounding military snipers, the parallels between warfare and the struggle against cancel culture, what Jack’s daily writing routine is, why it's dangerous for young people to forget the sacrifices made by past generations, the credibility of potential future threats from China and much more...

What is your "country"? The people? People don't love other people in America. We exploit each other for personal gain and then lie about how we are good people. The land? Americans don't love the land. The land is a store of value to a few, a backdrop upon which they live out their delusions for others, and something to be excluded from for most. The institutions? People don't love the institutions of America. The institutions are controlled by and exist for the benefit of the wealthy and their professional class stewards. Institutions that serve a majority of people have been systematically gutted to fund the institutions that benefit the wealthy. Under any amount of scrutiny, this statement makes no sense.

I think this is problem, your assuming schools don't teach, trail of tears, slavery, or Jim crow when that is blatantly false. No one is calling for slavery and the only people pushing for race based laws are the people who say we haven't learn from our past. Americans today has felt more discrimination than they did in the 2000s. I think a big part of that is people who act like we don't teach about race and then double down on teaching race in schools, at the same time our schools are having record low math and reading scores. I apologize for an aggressive response, but I feel like the mindset is the big factor in many modern problems we are having

@@marvinsgardenproduce798Sorry you are so jaded. You make a whole set of assertions that are essentially your own jaded view of America. You also generalize that YOU know what the American people think. Many Americans love the land. You and your fellow travelers don’t. OK. Many Americans love our institutions. You don’t. OK. That is your orientation because you have selectively processed evidence. By working to gain a better comparative framework you’ll find that there is a thing called the human condition that exists anywhere there are humans, such as in America. If you want to be depressed about humans, you can be. Plenty of evidence. Comparing different systems, now that takes hard work. You haven’t done that. It appears you are one of those types who listen to American ideals, see that they are not met, and declare it evil, not having seriously studied, lived in or experienced to any meaningful degree how others do it. Read history. You think you live in an evil world, so go out there and find what real evil can be. Then make a choice to be grateful. You won’t, of course, because your identity revolves around hating America first. Gratitude and understanding the human condition should make you a patriotic American unless you choose to be something else. In which case you are trying to get the rest of us killed by making us weak, which makes you someone I will still defend ONLY because you’re an American. Lucky you! It’s called character and patriotism and as long as enough of us have it, you can think any damned thing you like, even if it hurts us. Which is yet another reason to love America, which you won’t. Ironic. Just my two cents coming from this land and having studied and defended it. 🇺🇸

Jack Carr is such a wholesome guy. Regarding the young Americans becoming less Patriotic; I think it comes down to the culture and family values. I am Mexican-American (grew up very close to my Mexican roots) what surprised me a lot growing up was asking a lot of friends that had grandparents that fought in WW2, Vietnam, etc. and I was so intrigued by that and would ask do you ever sit with them and ask them or what stories? do you know that they’ve told you? It seemed to be that they were always disinterested in learning about it, looked at me like I was crazy never really, or never really thought of even asking. I think it’s very important as young people to learn about those that came before you and stand proud knowing you came from such strong, brave people.

My family has been in this country since Colonial times, and we view the United States as an inheritance and an asset which need good management to keep their value for future generations. That is "loving America" in a tangible and practical sense. The diversitarian newcomers, by contrast, and especially the ones in power we're not allowed to criticize, view the United States as a pile of wealth to loot for their short-sighted goals. These people clearly don't "love America" in a way that works over the long run.

I think you are building a strawman here, it's not about the fact that slavery happened, it's that there are descendents of slaves who have long been citizens now who have not been fully integrated or accepted into the identity of the country as a whole. A country is it's land and it's citizens. The purpose of talking about slavery is not about permanently blighting the US it's about trying to problem solve by addressing the initial cause of said problem. Even if you don't buy into "wokeness" or reparations or anything like that, if you can't deny that you have to either assimilate with or get along with all the different populations within your own country. If a large percentage of your population is disgruntled, it needs to be addressed. That's what all the diversity stuff is about, it's about unifying the different subgroups in the country under a single banner. There can't be an in-group or out group any more because these groups are becoming too large to ignore. Treating a huge portion of your population as second class citizens or as foreigners is a liability for the security of the country. The goal is to bring all the groups together, everyone working together. "Political correctness" is about not perpetuating the separation between the groups. Yes freedom of speech is absolutely important, but that means people have the freedom of speech to complain when they don't like what other people say. What is happening now is that people who previously were not exercising their freedom of speech are now finally starting to exercise it. Freedom of speech can only be infringed upon by the government, and we need to watch out for that, but citizens shaming other citizens is just freedom of speech from the other side. Canceling is also freedom of speech. Companies also have the right to fire people or cancel accounts. They are exercising THEIR freedom. The freedom goes both ways. And btw I do think the left has overstepped in many ways, but I think the idea that people pushing back against offensive language as a violation of freedom of speech is a complete lie. Saying people aren't allowed to complain goes against freedom of speech. You can say what you want but other people can also say what they want back and tell you they don't like what you're saying.

I think the opinion of the general public of both the army and the three letter agencies isn't that bad. It's just that many people find it important to question what groups with the backing of the government do with their power. Hidden agenda's can't be voted on. So I can empathize with those who try to test the hypotheses with the worst possible outcomes first, in ways which do not cause too much harm to themselves (not disobeying the law and such). Especially since covid distrust of the government has become almost second-nature to many.

I work with a young Navajo woman, and I tell her that even though my family has lived in North America since Colonial times, her people are clearly more "American" than my people, and that I respect that. It was bad enough that we treated the Native Americans brutally when we settled this country, but at least we've tried to make amends. Unfortunately our current elites are completely devaluing the lives of Americans like my coworker by flooding the country with diversitarians who can't function in our kind of society and who have no business being here. For some reason no one on the Left is willing to point out the agenda here, namely, that our elites aren't satisfied with what white men did to the Native Americans, and they want to import a billion more people from the rest of the world to finish the job.

But many ethnicities who now live here, are extremely violent, and very prejudiced. They cause more harm to the indigenous than anyone else. Nor is it sadly just a matter of the left. They take my kids, then they raise them the way they want to raise my kids. They severed cultural ties of an entire generation and then made us slaves and called us Deadbeats. I spent two years learning how to walk again after breaking my back only to get chained to my walker, thrown in jail and told somebody's going to love me enough to pay my child support. I was laid up in the hospital for 2 years learning how to walk and I got thrown in jail with no medication where I shit and piss myself. I couldn't walk without a walker. I have no idea how long I passed out. They hose me off & they drag me in front of the judge. I was delirious but someone had paid my child support. Took me over a decade to pay them back. I had to live in a garage and work two jobs. Still they took everything and called me a deadbeat. Human trafficking, extortion, slavery, what more do you want? What what more can they do to me? I'm sure I'll find out. Last run they made on me I was looking at 22 years. No trial, after half a decade they told me I could have a trial but I wasn't going to be giving the right to face my accuser. I could appeal that decision from prison. That was my only option. They already had my guns so I took a plea deal. They ran me out of my house. Everything I worked for GONE. They occupied my home & threaten me with death or incarceration if I stepped one foot on my property. I was still required to pay my property taxes and the mortgage and utilities or I would lose my clearance. So you know I'm a chump. I was on leadership row at AFNIC. I served with Space Command, Combat Command, Cyber Command, & Program Management. Peer reviews were, outstanding, outstanding, outstanding, the best I've ever seen, the best I've ever seen. I did my duty and documented every constitutional violation, every human rights violation, and every civil rights violation. I had my lawyer documented meticulously in triplicate. The reason he needs to object three times is to establish intent. And those objections need to happen on three separate occasions. Once he was done with his documentation I took a plea. I had to get these people out of my life. If I wasn't well connected I would be in prison right now getting the Cosby treatment while begging for my freedom. I got all my ducks in a row. Established a secure line of communication. Gave my next of kin cryptic instructions that they don't understand should I be captured or killed. "B" Command Task Force Pappa Bear Not good times man. Yeah that last run for 22 years was a no knock no warrant. Keep the doors locked and your weapons at the ready. And they even tried to get me for resisting because I was taking a shit. I had the drop but made safe because I saw a police officer in assumed that there must be some mistake. There was no mistake. There was a noose set and they yanked as soon as they had the opportunity for plausible deniability. I'm coming off back to back surgeries for lipoma removals. That's about 50 or 60 now. I have scars all over my body from chemical exposure and possibly catching a stray atom here or there. I've literally given pounds of my flesh for my country and done my duty. I can't even get constitutional rights for my efforts. I'm ready to fall in just let me know when. That's where I'm at. The last day I served was the day we left Afghanistan. I was in a bunker working for transcom and they were trying to push a "Q" on me and I pushed back. I told him I couldn't defend myself much less their information. I had to tell them that they couldn't trust me because everyone talks. We know that. And the state has been systematically choking all the vfw's in the state. I've been to National and from my understanding they're doing it to all the vfw's across the country. For being choked out of existence. I was a delegate doing my duty, when a Haji judge was admitted as a guest speaker. He told the entire delegation that we were a dangerous to society and we all needed to be locked up and if we couldn't be locked up we needed to be disarmed. Everybody sat they're like frogs on a log except me. You're damn right I'm not taking this sitting down. So that's where we're at. It gets better. The judges were caught taking veteran money to go on a trip to Reno for ethics training. That's right, ethics training. Semper Fidelis Terminal Lance Rickert

We don’t need foreign bodies promoting propaganda to make people lose their optimism and patriotism. It’s not hard to see that America stopped loving its people and started loving money and control. Americans patriotism died as a result. Rents and mortgages are too high, corporations buying homes en mass, the housing market is on the verge of collapse, wages are decades behind inflation, the overwhelming majority of manufacturing jobs are outsourced and various other jobs will end up being outsourced either to Ai or third world countries. In comparison boomers were able to get a manufacturing job straight out of high school with a pension, buy a home, a car and raise a family all on that one income. People have lost their patriotism because we see that the people in control stole the American Dream that they enjoyed from every future generation that came after them.

I'm one of the people that has followed Peter Zeihan around the internet. Took a long time for me to come to terms with the major "flaw" with his doomsday predictions. He does well in identifying the problems, and talking about past solutions and how they either won't work, don't exist, or what did work in the past and how some of it might apply to the current problem. His problem is that he has so much information that he is a really good central planner, far better than the people running half the countries...but he's still a central planner, he and his team can only see so much. but the market adapts better than he can. So he predicted last winter $10/gallon gas But it didn't happen because(according to him): 1: mild winter so demand was lower (especially in germany) 2: covid in china wrecked their demand 3: existing refineries squeezing out a little more So one can say he was right, but the facts changed (that's his typical caveat) But it could be like that for all his doomsday scenarios ....a billion people will starve......until we figure something out. not enough materials to go renewable...until Elon figures somethign out population collapse is coming....but maybe automation will be here in time to prevent armageddon

I have been too. However I think he misses the really frightening scenarios, he often disregards the effects of global agreements such as the WEF and the UN and the danger we face due to ideologies. For example, I'm Australian, I live in a small town. They are clearing virgin forest outside the town, to install a solar farm to replace our hydro electricity plant. In winter when people use the most electricity, we only have six hours of daylight this far south. This is completely illogical, even by the climate cults own logic. It is obviously ideologically driven to make people's lives miserable. We've also recently seen how quickly our government will adopt totalitarian tyranny. Add to that, the fact that throughout the covid period we had fewer deaths than average. But since the experimental medical procedure which was a civil rights abuse under the Geneva Convention, 30,000 have died and rising. Agenda 21 exceeded expectations, so now it's full steam ahead. The fifteen minute cities are being designed. A referendum is being pushed which will allow native title to determine the ownership of all private and municipal property, AKA You Will Own Nothing. This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a whimper -TS Eliot.
