Beyond the Books: Terminal List Book 3 - Savage Son - Danger Close with Jack Carr

Ойын-сауық

In this special collection of Danger Close episodes, Jack sits down with Atria Books Deputy Director of Publicity, David Brown, and IRONCLAD Director of Original Content, Jesse Carey, to break down each novel in his bestselling Terminal List series.
The latest installment in the series, ONLY THE DEAD, releases this week.
In each episode of this spotlight series, Jack, David, and Jesse give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the James Reece saga, providing plot overviews and summaries of each of the books leading up to ONLY THE DEAD to let fans catch back up on the story. (Warning: These episodes contain spoilers.)
In this episode, they discuss book 3, SAVAGE SON.
From the publisher:
A traitorous CIA officer has found refuge with the Russian Mafia with designs on ensuring a certain former Navy SEAL sniper is put in the ground.
Half a world away, James Reece is recovering from brain surgery in the Montana wilderness of his youth, learning to live again, putting his life back together with the help of investigative journalist Katie Buranek and his longtime friend and SEAL teammate Raife Hastings.
For reasons both personal and professional, the Russian intelligence-mafia consortium has their sights set on removing a player from the board before he can return to the battlefield, targeting Reece on U.S. soil.
With an unknown entity inside the U.S. government compromised by Russian intelligence, Reece is forced to recruit a team of former commandos to bring his unique brand of vengeance to the Russian Mafia on their home turf, turning the hunters into the hunted.
Operating at the nexus of an evolving hybrid form of warfare involving terrorist organizations, drug cartels, human trafficking syndicates, cyber technologies, and organized crime, James Reece stands head and shoulders above the fray as the go-to covert operative in a new war.
Applying the experience and emotions from real-world combat to the pages of the political thriller, Jack Carr once again brings readers on a behind the scenes journey into the mind of a modern-day special operations soldier, dispensing an ancient form of justice in today’s modern geopolitical landscape.
Jack Carr elevates the genre to new heights in his most visceral novel to date exploring the dark side of man through the eyes of a warrior who has seen both the depravity of conflict and the strength of the human spirit, cementing his position as the new leader in political thrillers!
Deeply personal and intoxicating, Savage Son illuminates the darkest instincts of the human consciousness and will keep you glued to the page until that last bullet finds its mark.

Just finished reading it and this was so awesome. I loved Aleksandr as the villain and the ending with Reece taking down Oliver.. wow. And loving the romance b/w Katie and Reece.

I sure hope Jack does what he suggested and one day goes back and expands Reece’s journey through Siberia in a novella or something. Hell, I would read a full 300 page novel about that! With some inspiration drawn from famous American mountain men, maybe some Jim Shockey, Steven Rinella, Bryan Call…

Jack, Merry Christmas ~ great book /read. Just finished this past weekend. As I go through my final thoughts on it, I have to comment on the title. It subtly refers to the Reeces, russians, and Raife! Well done.

18:26 Hmm, I thought Thorn was Raife’s father in law AND former senator. Did I miss something? You described Raife’s father in your description… or have I completely lost my mind? 😂
