have you tried CDM bulbs? they are better at mimicking sunlight - but they do generate a lot of heat.. you can also get a solar tracker, could use that maybe with a relay connection to a more powerful stepper motor so it can rotate large panels

Thanks for the video! I have an unrelated question. I have a Karaoke machine that I love but it's not reading the CDs all the time. Is there a way to replace the cd mechanism and a source for parts? Thanks!!

Thanks! I don’t see why you couldn’t replace it if you can find a whole unit, maybe on eBay. I’d try cleaning the laser first. I’ve heard about others replacing a diode near the laser module to repair bad lasers.

Super late to the game, but popping it open, blowing it out with air, and cleaning any dirty components (including the lasers) with isopropyl alcohol and a soft toothbrush (gently, with patience) or cue-tips can solve a lot of problems. If it's persistent, depending on your level of comfort you could cannibalize another broken system off of say ebay, or pull the broken component out of the assembly and get a replacement part from china for probably next to nothing - assuming you can wait for shipping (super cheap components can cost pennies but take months before they get spare space in a shipping container to toss it in).

Not at all related to his video but Thought I would get your Reply to my Query on your Recent Video I have a 43 inch Sony Bravia 4K LED TV Recently When I tried turning on the TV it entered into a cycle of Tryung to Switch on and then off and Then Trying to switch on So I checked the adapter and it seems fine Then As I was looking I saw tiny Ants all behind the TV Screen walking Any idea how to fix this and get the ants OUT!

i have a tcl smart tv, when i turn it off and unplug it from socket the time and date returns to factory default. what should i do. (out of topic from solar panel).

Is there a battery on the main board? If so, maybe it’s bad. You could also try restoring to factory defaults. Maybe there is a firmware issue.

Can any this solar generators be recharged with wind turbine or hydro turbine?

If the output fits within the input maximum on the generator, then I think it should work. I haven’t looked into it though. Are you looking for a particular application?

How do you deal with the eventual need to re roof under the panels?

In like 40-50 years? I’m sure there will be a new technology out by then to try out. My shingles have a 25-30 year warranty and they are protected by the solar panels. But when I have to reshingle, I would just take things off in a day, roofer does their thing, and then put them back on. Guys who install solar regularly can put a system in like this in about a day so I don’t see it as a big deal personally. Most of the hard work of permitting, wiring, conduits, etc is already done and wouldn’t need to be redone.

@@FrugalRepair thank you for the response I am very pro solar I just never thought about it before. I assume that the panels would create some sort of protection but then I was curious if the rate of deterioration of the ones that weren't under it would be vastly greater? I might just get one of those metal sheetroofs when I go for mine but it's nice to be able to have videos that explore options like this one.

I understand getting the actual electricity to a net zero, but up here in Canada, the extra fees on our bills are more than the electricity costs. Do you have any delivery charges or extra costs on you electricity bills?

Sorry to hear that! I go over the details in the “is solar worth it?” video but there is a $7/month charge and that is the total connection grid fee. This fee is more than paid for by two different types of credits I get with solar.

Good question. It’s because of the safety protocol mandated for the inverters. So that it’s impossible to back feed to the grid during an outage. They only operate when they sense the grid.

Just one question. Why would you point your panels towards the equator when we all know the earth is flat? 😊😊😊

@@FrugalRepair when I played your video, it auto loaded at 720p. When I went to the settings gear 1080p was available, I selected it and it played at 1080p just fine. Thanks for this video, looking forward to the next one.
