Dick Cavett has been nominated for eleven Emmy awards (the most recent in 2012 for the HBO special, Mel Brooks and Dick Cavett Together Again), and won three. Spanning five decades, Dick Cavett’s television career has defined excellence in the interview format. He started at ABC in 1968, and also enjoyed success on PBS, USA, and CNBC.
His most recent television successes were the September 2014 PBS special, Dick Cavett’s Watergate, followed April 2015 by Dick Cavett’s Vietnam. He has appeared in movies, tv specials, tv commercials, and several Broadway plays. He starred in an off-Broadway production ofHellman v. McCarthy in 2014 and reprised the role at Theatre 40 in LA February 2015.
Cavett has published four books beginning with Cavett (1974) and Eye on Cavett (1983), co-authored with Christopher Porterfield. His two recent books -- Talk Show: Confrontations, Pointed Commentary, and Off-Screen Secrets (2010) and Brief Encounters: Conversations, Magic moments, and Assorted Hijinks(October 2014) are both collections of his online opinion column, written for The New York Times since 2007. Additionally, he has written for The New Yorker, TV Guide, Vanity Fair, and elsewhere.

I’ve seen him do that a thousand times, and it still impresses me and makes me smile.
The fact that they did all that and never touched each other...that's crazy. These days they would have legit scrapped.

Joe was always cool low k while Ali talked. It was a perfect combo. These guys were strictly about the sportsmanship.

IMadeYouReadThis that’s him being disrespectful and hurtful not ignorant as he used that to upset his opponent and not actually believe in it which is definitely the wrong way to go about it. Watch his documentary about that period as well as his book as you shall see for yourself.

Both fighters were world champions. But Ali's ability was Mythic. I've never seen a man move like he did in the ring. It was poetry.

When Ali and Frazier stand up, even though you know they are acting, you still feel the presence of two real, physical powerhouses. That presence is what most if not all men dream of getting but only a handful ever can or could - these two were right up there.

Ummm...Frazier wasn't acting - he TRULY disliked Ali then esp. when Ali called him an Uncle Tom, a gorilla, etc. He would have killed Ali in a street fight too.

i liked when Frazier followed ali's shuffle (which is supposed to be followed by a fast attack from ali) with a well timed punching motion, he said something like "I got you", in his mind he was fighting Ali.

I loved Iron Mike but after years and years of watching the greats Ali and those 70s boxers and early 80s boxers were awesome and man did they let them fight. Not taking nothing away from any boxing era I still watch it today but no doubt my fav was Ali's era but I still love Iron Mike.
