I Created Rainstorms In My Giant Rainforest Vivarium

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

The rainy season has officially come to my giant cloud rainforest vivarium Pantdora, which has opened a new chapter in the evolution of the tropical ecosystem within. This is the story of how the vivarium reawakens in this new cooler, wetter season, and how I support its come back using some cool biological methods with the help of some animal friends. Hope you enjoy this 7th episode of the Second Season of my Ecosystem Vivarium Series. Ant love forever! This video was shot in 4K Ultra HD resolution.

Cave has always been my favorite option. It would be so cool to peek inside a living cave ecosystem. Swamp would get messy and Canopy would seemingly be very hard to recreate but in the end it is what YOU desire to experience and feel will be a strong build that you can enjoy. No matter what we will all be watching it no matter what you eventually decide upon.

First, put out some bat boxes and see if he can get bats at all. If they're willing to do that, it should be straightforward to gradually add more features to their living space.

Canopy is his only chance or so I believe. Think the other ones he showed was just fodder for the show. Something sort of entertaining to eat up time and make the show longer to trick others. It tricked me. Now the others _can_ be recreated except the cave idea, but don't think he can do any of them except canopy. It's a little outside his scope or understanding. And I'm convinced he knew that from the start too, all this talk is just to get people to watch.

I hope that you surround yourself with things to help keep you up and able to move forward. That you don't become distracted b y the wrong things to numb yourself. Because that can be the "easy" way to handle situations like death, but then the healing still doesn't get taken care of it's just put off. I can't imagine having a twin and losing them it's not like any other relationship, it's unique to you both. I am so sorry for your loss I really want you to find your way in this life unfortunately now without him but look for reasons to life FOR him because he couldn't. I think it’s amazing how a Canadian kid liking ants and deciding to put it on the internet and help innovate in the ants keeping hobby, leads to 5.77 million people following the journey of ants, most of whom would otherwise hate ants. It just shows what a single person can really do. Before I found Mikey about 5 years ago I despised all kinds of ants but purely based on his narration and story telling around ants, it made me really appreciate them and if I didn’t live with my mom I would definitely be keeping some ants by now.

Because the canopy biome is not very well understood, and yet is an essential part of any old growth forest. It is basically a second forest hundreds or thousands of feet up depending on the forest. It is also needed for his set up it would provide cooling air circulation and purification to the overall system. And thats only the environmental effects. It would be huge for the insects and others, give them a refugium like the cave would. just@shuckleuser4285

Interesting fact about the termites flying around your lights: they aren't attracted to the light, but actually trapped by it. Most insects have an instinct called dorsal-light-response (DLR), which basically keeps their back facing towards the light. For the last few million years, this works great, since the only light at night is the moon. Nowadays however, if a bug flies near a light, their DLR kicks in, and they are constantly re-orientating themselves with the back to the light, thus they get caught in spirals or circles around the lights. Makes you think if this is actually beneficial to some insects (like the termites) who have mating flights, as the lights sort of pull these bugs together, making finding a suitable mate easier (given they can escape the light afterwards)

Here are my thoughts on the additional vivarium: A cave would sound cool, but in reality, it would be hard to see/film an enclosed and dark place. A swamp would have a lot of life and species, but most of the life would be in the water. A place we can’t see through with the mud and others in the water. A canopy would be an open area we can see that could have flying animals and insects in it. Something that couldn’t happen in the rainforest vivarium. We could add birds, flying insects, and animals that climb on tall areas. (such as miniature primates, microsquirrels, or chameleons! [I would really like to see a chameleon in the vivarium.])

Good morning I have been a fan of your channel for a very long time now. Now I get the chance to actually speak up and get an opportunity to say something. I have been contacting you everywhere trying to get my hands on you. On multiple community tabs, and your latest video. I will be sending you this message I have sent everywhere to you on KZread. Plus, extra details. NOTE: THIS IS AN UPDATED VERSION Introduction: Hey! Here me out! We need to do a canopy. No for real. Here me out. Canopy: I am telling you to do the low land jungle/ canopy. Reason being. It is a biome that doesn't really need ALOT of attention. And you can easily remove and add fauna and flora to the ecosystem without ripping things apart and damaging and harming the ecosystem. Plus, you can even add a lot of fauna and flora. And almost any animal can survive in there. In other words, you could add so many animals to the terrarium and they will all likely survive. Because a lowland rainforest is a very common thing, and even very small lowland rainforests can house thousands of flora and fauna. I have suggestion of what animals you could add. I unfortunately don't have a lot of knowledge surrounding the types of plants you could add, as I'm only 15 years old, and love animals, as well as plants, but I have way more knowledge surrounding animals than knowledge I have surrounding plants. Animals: Trap-jaw ants, harvesting termites, katydids, stag beetles (bing.com/th?id=OIP.q2ZrGIilDSGDuVdUuiCTigHaE8&w=155&h=103&c=8&rs=1&qlt=90&o=6&dpr=1.3&pid=3.1&rm=2), bullet ant colony, assassin bugs, click beetles, fireflies (would make the forest have an enchanting look at night), spiny ants, any forest scorpion, stick insect. If you are lucky enough to get a Titan beetle, it would look INSANE!!! You could even maybe add a colony of weaver ants. That we can add, and watch grow. Would be better not to add a snake, or else Smaug and Daenerys would not life mush longer. Swamp: Swamp can be very bad with the water. The swamp can leak, and when it is created and you feel like you want to add or remove something it could harm the ecosystem. You need to be selective about the plants that you want to add. As when you do want to remove a plant you don't want, you could ruin everything else as most of the water plants and trees growing on the river banks have long roots that almost wire knots accross each other and removing even a small portion of plants could make the water cloudy, or completely brown. It could also disturb some creatures living in the floating plants and tree roots. It would be AMAZING if we did get a perfect swamp terrarium but there are too many things that could go wrong, and WILL go wrong in the future. Another thing about the swamp. I have always wanted to make like an aquarium for tadpole or have my own lake in glass. But it would have to have so much maintenence. It would need to have a constant check up on the water or else there could be problems. And also algae would be forming on the walls of the aquarium and would be needing cleaning when overgrown. If you do decide on creating an swamp the following creatures you can add: Animals: African clawed frog (Xenopus laevis), spotted salamander (How to Care for Your Spotted Salamander | Reptile Supply), Dragonflies, Damselfly, Cadisfly, red crawfish, Fresh water puffer fish (imitater pufferfish:Imitator Dwarf Puffer (Carinotetraodon imitator) - Aqua Imports (aqua-imports.com)) (Fuhaka Pufferfish:bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=236d8e160085288fJmltdHM9MTcxNTIxMjgwMCZpZ3VpZD0xY2VhYzJkNy0wMzdkLTYxYWMtMDZiOC1kNmQxMDI3ZDYwMTgmaW5zaWQ9NTQ3MQ&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=3&fclid=1ceac2d7-037d-61ac-06b8-d6d1027d6018&psq=%3aFahaka+Puffer%3a+Care%2c+Tank+Size%2c+Tank+Mates%2c+Food+%26+Size+-+Fish+Laboratory)&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZmlzaGxhYm9yYXRvcnkuY29tL2Zpc2gvZmFoYWthLXB1ZmZlci8&ntb=1 (Dwarf Pufferfish/ Pea Pufferfish: bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=20667f5dd75799d6JmltdHM9MTcxNTIxMjgwMCZpZ3VpZD0xY2VhYzJkNy0wMzdkLTYxYWMtMDZiOC1kNmQxMDI3ZDYwMTgmaW5zaWQ9NTIyOQ&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=3&fclid=1ceac2d7-037d-61ac-06b8-d6d1027d6018&psq=Dwarf+%2f+Pea+Puffer&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYXF1YXJpdW1zb3VyY2UuY29tL2R3YXJmLXBlYS1wdWZmZXIv&ntb=1 Might find something helpful here: bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=c759a6b33f30b89eJmltdHM9MTcxNTIxMjgwMCZpZ3VpZD0xY2VhYzJkNy0wMzdkLTYxYWMtMDZiOC1kNmQxMDI3ZDYwMTgmaW5zaWQ9NTQ2Mw&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=3&fclid=1ceac2d7-037d-61ac-06b8-d6d1027d6018&psq=These+26+Animals+Can+Live+in+a+Paludarium+%e2%80%93+Vivarium+Vibes&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly92aXZhcml1bXZpYmVzLmNvbS90aGVzZS1hbmltYWxzLWNhbi1saXZlLWluLWEtcGFsdWRhcml1bS8&ntb=1 Grassland: Grasslands would also be very cool, but I think it would be way to small to look natural and if you want to add a mole it will uproot all the soil and it won't look great. I suppose if you do want to make grass land biome you would be needing a very open and flat terrain. I mean it would be very cool if we could place a largish dead animal on the plains and watch how all the animals eat it and watch what happens. But yet again imagine it. I don't think it would be as cool as a swamp. Altough it would(in my opinion) be the easiest option to maintain and would be needing the least maintenance. AnimalsLocusts (small ones that don't reproduce non-stop, ear wigs, DONT ADD FIRE ANTS they won't stay there and will annihilate EVERYTHING in that terrarium as well as Pandora. I am not really finding anything else. The cave: The cave will also be having troubles. It would be difficult to maintain the right temperatures. And would be the third-best option (you will see why I say third and not second, later). What could be done is that you could go and get sandstone and maybe get someone to carve out a cave structure or something similar to that. Although it would take WAY more time than the other options, it would look great. If you do choose this, make sure to carve out something almost like an igloo that will be situated on the glass of the terrarium. The reason for this is so that we could visibly see the creatures hiding and living in the "igloo's" They will be used by ants as a place to create a colony and as refuge by the other animals. Make sure to do your own research about EVERY SINGLE ANIMAL that you want to add. Animals: You could add some whip spiders, and a few roaches, You might be able to add some small scorpions. I didn't look for any others. Maybe you can find some other insects that could be added as well. Cave swamp:The cave swamp will have roughly the save problems as a normal swamp. 1 Lots of maintainaice. 2. Constant water checks. 3. Difficult to get suitable creatures for the ecosystem. We need to think about this logically. Even though it would look AMAZING we can't just say let's make it. I have pictured you featuring a swamp cave. It would look amazing. We would love it, so will you. Until something happens. Like a leakage. Insight of my life: Note: I am only 15 years old, turning 16 years old. I have always wanted to have something like Pandora. ALWAYS!!!! Since I was like 4 I have always wanted to get a large terrarium like Pandora. But i was never financially prepared to get something like my own Pandora. So, if you could please read this and maybe use my ideas in some way then you will be fulfilling one of my biggest dreams ever. I am Grade 10, and want to become something like a game ranger or something around there. I might be able to come and visit you to see Pandora with my own eyes. I have dreamt about having something like this. And now, I can actually give my opinion about my dream. I really loved your videos. And they were especially great since the time where you collected alot of those carpenter ant queens during their Nuptial flight .And raised them. They were the Crimson Knights and the other one I know the name of but I can't remember right now. I would keep you updated with ideas and suggestions and preferable animals that you could add. And I would love to watch the videos about you and Your future and Pandora's future. Possible Gamechanging suggestion: Have you ever thought about a possible dessert biome? I just thought about the idea of you maybe creating a desert biome. Although, I don't currently know anything about your area. If you do decide to make a dessert biome you could add a Solifugae and maybe a rainfrog. You can also add a piece of dry drift wood and a few desert scorpions, maybe a desert hairy scorpion. A few velvet ants ( Multillidae) and it could be cool to have some Carabidae: Anthia which are native to where I live here in South Africa. Commonly called here in South Africa the: "Oogpister" as they can spray acid into your eyes that could blind you if not treated. I feel like we could also add some small tarantula's and maybe a Giant desert centipede especially since last episode you showed us how much you love flying centipedes We might also add some species of desert ants to the desert and maybe even some of your favourite bulldog ants from Australia.Posible animals to add are in Green My school and studies: Sadly, I need to go to school. I have to study so I might be delayed on responding to you. Email me on zacoventer14twee@gmail.com. If you personally want to talk to me. If I don't respond, contact me at ZacoVenter08@outlook.com. We can discuss there. I am not always free as I have lots of tasks to do and have to study hard for the June exam starting next week. I really hope you read and saw this. Building a new ant tank with a random theme is one thing. In *this* particular case whatever he does is going to take a lot of materials, possibly cutting into his floors, and needs to connect to this already working system and months of prep. For this he probably had a strong preference which is why he made note that "all the comments are saying something different than the polls" so that he has an out when the polls are heavily tilted towards the much more difficult less sustainable project. And why the previous video went "canopy has so many positives!" and "swamp has so many negatives!" because he was trying to influence the results towards what he was wanting to do anyway. But hey, getting interaction in the comments is how you make the algorithm tingle and promote your stuff, so he's just doing what he needs to do.

And you'd have to deal with the guano, and the potential diseases. Its fun to say pie in the sky "wouldn't it be cool to have some bats?" but the actual practicalities make that impossible and unsafe. Now if he wanted to build an outdoor bat area totally unconnected to Pantdora, the same way a zoo might, that might be more feasible but how you attract the things in the first place is another trick.

If you toast your egg shells to a light golden color it converts the calcium into a bio available calcium that can be absorbed much quicker by the plants. You can blend the toasted shell and then add to water or just sprinkle them.

Personally hoping for Cave, while it may be quiet and slow, the canopy will just feel like im watching the same vivarium twice, the swamp will be interesting, but i'd be worried about you accidentally bringing in more parasites, while the cave has some interesting potential if you manage to go all out on it

This probably wont be seen by OP, but I have a small terrarium that I've been growing for a year now with isopods and springstails and worms and cockroaches. It's meant to be like a small patch of forest at the roots of a tree. I have pieces of roots buried in the soil with layers of small rocks and clay balls at the very bottom to form a water table that plants could grow into to drink from. I recently let a couple of mice loose in it for a few days and I let them dig a network of tunnels before I put them back into their normal enclosure and then let my tarantula loose in the terrarium. Now she has the most premium of premium tarantula enclosures. Plus the bugs have a great subterranean place to hide now instead of just under logs.
