What fits in the glove box of a Can-Am Spyder?

Before buying my 2023 Can-Am Spyder RT Limited I watched countless KZread videos and read every article I could find on the topic. All were very helpful.
When it came to storage for the Can-Am Spyder, there were plenty of photos and videos showing the frunk, the side cases and the top case (rear trunk.) But not much on the glove box.
Here’s an up close look at how much you can cram into the glove box of a Can-Am Spyder RT Limited.
This channel chronicles my adventures as a minimalist on a 2023 Can-Am Spyder RT Limited, my only conveyance. We’ll go on a great adventures, near and far from my home base in Niagara Falls, NY, as well as jaunts to the grocery store and other mundane errands. We’ll also discuss accessories and gear for the Can-Am Spyder.
I usually wear a Tourmaster Transition 4 jacket, a Scorpion EXO-AT950 helmet, and either Klim Baja gloves or Joe Rocket Windchill gloves. I use a GoPro Hero 10 camera and a Purple Panda mic, and I edit video with iMovie with an iPad Pro.

Couple tips. First, the glove box compartment gets very hot in the summer, from engine heat. Just be careful with what you put in there. Second, checking the air on the rear tire will become very annoying, and if you get sufficiently annoyed, you might want to check out FOBO BIKE 2 TPMS for TRIKES, it monitors tire pressures and tire temperatures.

Great tips! The chap stick might liquify and I will look into the tire pressure system.

First off the F3 glovebox is larger. Second when these bike were being designed they were going on the current smartphone size and when the bikes go into production smartphones changed and it would be quite impossible to change what is already designed. Only if it’s pouring would I put my phone inside. I mount the phone on top so it gets air flow to keep it cool. I’ve learned that the vibration in the handlebars can do damage especially to the camera part. This was learned while riding Goldwings which are one of the smoothest bikes but things vibrated loose.

As you probably remember I have an 2021, F3S it has no glove box and the f-3S and the basic f-3 has a traditional gas fill location like other motorcycles.

Turn your wheel to the left lock your wheels and it'll lock you glovebox at the same time. The box gets very warm.Be careful what you put in there The wires cannot be removed. One is for your phone to update your computer. And download Maps. The other one is like an MP3 player.

Enjoyed the video. The glove box is too small and those cables are annoying.

As a relatively new Spyder owner, I'm glad that I found your channel. You're very articulate and as someone who's never been to Niagara Falls, I enjoy your videos of the area. Look forward to your other adventures. My wife wishes I were a minimalist, but that's never going to happen!

I love the built-in maps from the BRP go app. So I would want to be able to keep my phone in there. Although when using the app the charging from the bike doesn't keep up with the discharging on the phone.

But are the BRP Go maps as good as Google or Apple Maps? I like the fact I have Google maps, and other apps, at hand.

On your stem valves. Make sure you put anti seize on the threads of caps. I would get some permatex copper anti seize.you can get this most any box store or hardware or automotive store. Plus it's cheep. Over time the will get corrosion and weld them to them selves to the stems. Makes it hard to get off. Happy riding. Good videos nice to see a part of the country I haven't seen.

You will love those alpine earlugs. I did a review over a year ago on various earplugs and they are on my top choice. Amazing difference when you need it. Also, the glovebox can get hot so be aware of that. Thanks for the video - ride safe!

Hey there, just an FYI.. BRP will replace the seat shock under warranty.. i was just living with it, but my Spyder maintenance centre noticed it and just replaced it with a new one.. (I’d learned to live with it so didn’t mention it) Works perfectly now.. let’s see for how long :-) I’m now having the same issue with the Back Trunk, I have to hold it open, wont just stay open anymore.. so will mentioned it on my next service.. let’s see if they replace that shock under warranty too??..

Looking forward to the Eclipse ride out, it should be quite cool. I don't like those extra cables in your clove box taking up room they should be hidden else where if possible. You have to be a bit careful with those metal valve caps as I fitted some to my Car a few years ago. They looked good but after a while they fused them selves to the valve steam and were quite difficult to remove so I went back to plastic ones.

  • @SpyderMinimalist

Oh, no, I hope they improved them since then. Getting to the valve cap is difficult enough without it sticking to the stem.

@SpyderMinimalist I don't think phones are bright enough to see on the road. On other bikes I do use a Garmin Zumo XT. It works well but I don't want to have to get another hookup for this bike.

I only have my Sunglasses and a garage door opener in my glove box. I use a Harley Davidson style valve stem extender on that rear tire when i fill or check the air. I store it in the frunk. I don't know why a bone headed engineer put the valve stem on the sprocket side 🤦.

I’m having a USB/12V charger installed in a couple of weeks. USB will charge my phone, mounted on a Quad Lock mount, and 12V is for my portable air compressor. Until then, I use the phone sparingly.
