3,000 Mile Service for my Can-Am Spyder. How did it go?

I reached the 3,000 mile first service point for my Can-Am Spyder, so I rode to my dealer, Buck’s Motorsports in Akron, NY. Mentioned ‪@SpyderWayne‬ and ‪@CoachBob3‬ as just two channels I watch that identify where they are located, though there are many other great channels that do so.
This channel chronicles my adventures using a 2023 Can-Am Spyder RT Limited as my only conveyance. We’ll go on a great adventures as well as mundane errands. We’ll also discuss accessories and gear for the Can-Am Spyder.
I usually wear a Tourmaster Transition 4 jacket, a Scorpion EXO-AT950 helmet, and either Klim Baja gloves or Joe Rocket Windchill gloves. I use a GoPro Hero 10 camera and a Purple Panda mic, and I edit video with Final Cut Pro on an iPad Pro.

The seat backrest screw is easily accessible when the seat is removed. Instructions for that are in the owner’s manual. Unlock the seat, pull the large bottle-opener looking thingy down low near the rear and lift the backrest up to remove it. Use the Allen Wrench in the tool kit to adjust the screw that is seen when the bottom seat leather is pushed upward. Counter clockwise moves the backrest forward and vice versa. Hope this helps. I just adjusted the backrest on my new Sea to Sky - moved it forward - and it’s delightful now!

Chris the 12v accessory has a wattage limit because it’s not wired directly to the battery. Thus it’s limited in the wattage/amps it will flow. There are other 12v accessory systems that are wired directly to the battery via a non-switched circuit thus it will handle the increased load of your compressor. The other benefit of direct to battery is you can connect your trickle charger to it. You can find those other options at SpYderExtras or Lamonster garage. I used a direct wired on both my Sea to Sky and F3. Nicely done.

I was about to ask him if the docking station was wired to the accessory wires or to a different source. I have mine wired like yours directly to the battery. I think it's the best way to do this. You don't have to worry about a plug sticking out from your frunk when you use a tender.

Also for the auto-leveling suspension, I’ve best noticed it when stopped at a light, after a few seconds I’ll feel the rear adjust down a little bit

I use the same docking station. I use it to charge my phone mainly. I built an add on cable to wire in my Zumo XT. In the NC,Tenn,VA mountains the cell signals suck most of the time. Thats why I use the GPS.

It's a shame about the copy right issues and the music, I do understand the legal side but you can't beat a bit of Glen Campbell or Johnny Cash. 🙂Maybe lineman for the county would have been good if it was allowed especially on those freeways and long haul ride outs. Glad your Spyder has been serviced and the seat issue and phone charging problems have been fixed. She should be good for many more miles now. 👍

Good deal on your 3,000 mile service. As far as music goes, I don't monetize my channel so I use whatever music suits me. A recent video featured a Beatles' song and KZread notified me about the copyright, saying the video could not be viewed in the following countries; Belarus and Russia, so what! While making a short, I choose a song right out of KZread so there is no issue. And I haven't had any issues with the other songs I have used. It's your channel, you be you! Cheers Chris!

On the grill covers, I'll be doing those too. On the air suspension, I notice when my wife and I are both riding and we stop at a light, you can hear and feel the rear suspension "drop a little. Then it must lift up a bit again after start. On the seat shock, I had replaced mine with a stronger one from Lamonster or SpyderExtras. On the brakes, yes mine squeak like yours do and I am at around 7k miles. They just squeak when not hard braking like yours. So I assume they are just dirty. Ride safe!

I haven't pulled the Tupperware back off but it's wired backwards somewhere if you reverse the wires the USB will work. I just tested mine and it was backwards plugged into the factory plug. I thought the USB was bad, I bought two new USB ports with 3.0 and type c plugs. One side has voltage meter as well.

Would Rain-X have kept the rain drops from collecting on the windshield? I'm still in the "dreaming" stage of acquiring a Spyder....I don't need a rear seat (the wife says no) but that supplies a spot for speakers, doesn't it? I like my oldies...(I'm 70).
