The Grimace shake is blueberry. A McDonald’s employee said it’s supposed to be blueberry muffin, but I think it is the vanilla ice cream that makes the “muffin” part. It’s very much a blueberry shake. 😋

As an ex-McDonald's employee, please don't ask for unsalted fries if you just want them fresh. If you ask for unsalted they have to assume that you have a no-sodium dietary requirement and have to not only cook a fresh batch, but also isolate and clean thoroughly a compartment of the fry station, ensure nobody uses it for the 3 minutes it takes to cook them, and then serve them. It's frustrating and just slows down service for the whole team. If you want fresh fries, just ask. We were required to do so if a customer asks.... I've had this happen and later the person asked for salt while a queue of 10 people accumulated. EDIT: I didn't expect this comment to blow up, but just to clarify a few things and answer some common responses. 1. "Why go to McDonalds if you have a no/low-sodium diet?" Well as an employee that was none of my business. It was not my job to question how others live their lives or what they eat. However, if the only information we're given is "unsalted, please" we have to assume it's a dietary requirement because it's safer to assume it is than to assume it's not. 2. "But I like my fries less salted or without salt." - Then ask for that. I'm not saying you can't ask for unsalted fries. But if it's not a dietary requirement, it helps save time and unnecesary work for the employees if you communciate that. 3. "But I worked at McDonalds and we didn't do that." - You should have. That's corporate protocol, but not all (and I would say most) McDonald's follow all protocols. For example, where I worked we were supposed to throw out uneaten burgers every 15-20 mins. We didn't, we just changed the timers. 4. There were quite a few rude respones. Really unnecessary, guys. Let's try keep Emmy's channel and comment section clean and polite.

As a person with allergies, it makes McDonald's employees lazy when people do stuff like this. I have a strawberry allergy. I always state I have a strawberry allergy. If I'm getting a smoothie or a shake, I only go inside to order those now, so that I can say specifically, "I am very allergic to strawberry, so the blender needs to be washed thoroughly for my smoothie/milkshake" and watch them wash it. I've received two contaminated smoothies too many and both were in drive-thrus. From the same McDonalds at that. It ended up being a big situation with corporate, and I believe several employees ended up losing their jobs as a result of my two separate hospital trips.

@limalicious Very sorry to hear of your misfortune, but thank you for sharing this information. It really is important to remind everyone --as a whole-- that every statement of an allergy should be assumed true and taken seriously. Additionally, a reminder to not state you have an allergy if it is untrue and just be honest saying if you don't like strawberry... essence(?) To just say so. Thanks!

I’ve worked fast food and fries have a very short shelf life, usually just a few minutes. That means we’re constantly making fries and we have to throw out fries that have sat out, literally only a few minutes. You can always request fresh fries. Special requests, except in the cases of allergies or dietary restrictions, can be a big hassle for the kitchen and slow down not just you but everyone else and then no one is happy. Plus as someone mentioned, it may make some of the not so great employees become lazy or annoyed so they take special restrictions less seriously. Sucks but it’s the truth.

My mom and I were driving from LBI, NJ home to northeastern PA. We went through the drive through and I got these new chicken McNuggets. Omg they were unlike anything that anyone had at the time. We got off the next exit and got another order to share. We thought 9 we’re the perfect amount and obviously we weren’t the only ones. So they started offering 6, 9 or 12 nuggets. Then changed over the years to 4, 6 or 10. Then they added other sauces too!! Not just BBQ. But they discontinued my fave dipping sauce, honey. 😢

Current McD’s employee. The shake is berry flavored and I can confirm what another commenter said; if you want fresh fries, just ask instead of saying no salt. It throws the whole rhythm of the restaurant off if we have to stop and clean one of the fry compartments. It’s going to slow everything down and take longer to get everyone’s food. Also, please don’t be an asshole if we have to ask you to pull forward or park. You’re not only being disrespectful to the employees but equally so for the guy behind you that only has a large coke and has to wait for your 24 McChicken sandwiches. There’s a method to the madness and your stubbornness screws a lot of stuff up. That is all😂❤

I work at McDonalds. It's a mixed berry shake. In my opinion, it taste like berry Niquel that has been sweetened with milk.

Had the meal the other day just to taste the shake. Its addicting. But i couldnt figure out the flavor. So had my son try it and he said blueberry and than proceeded to try to steal my shake. 😂 kids still do that at 21yrs old. 😂

If you ask for your food “Cook to Order” they have to make everything fresh per McDonald’s policy. I was a McDonald’s manager lol.

Grimace was performed by Patty Saunders from his first appearance in 1971 thru 1983. The "bad" Grimace was supposed to be an old man but the new Grimace is supposed to be school age to play and celebrate birthdays with children.

As a person that worked at McDonald's, unsalted fries got started a new batch of course but no one at the place I worked cleaned the whole fry thing or anything. They just poured them out the basket in the fry thing u ordered

Here in Australia we call it "Macca's" like a friend to whom we have given a nickname 😂 I don't think we have Grimace these days, so the shakes are simply called Birthday Cake flavour. I may have to try one now, to see if they are the same.

They do not offer this in France. But, when you eat in the restaurant, your fries and nuggets come in a washable plastic container. Drinks are served in washable plastic cups.

I remember being confused when you said that McFlurries were McDonald's version of milkshakes in your McD Canadian taste test video because I was pretty sure they were part of their core menu everywhere; I had them all the time growing up and as far as I knew they still had both milkshakes and McFlurries. The fact that you never realized they had milkshakes now explains your previous comment. 😂

The jail thing was in officer Big Mac's head. It was hard to get into unless you were like, toddler sized. Grimace has had a family for a long time, as well. I remember Uncle O'Grimace advertising Shamrock Shakes back in the 70s. If you've never had a Shamrock Shake you need to go to McDonald's during March. They're really good.

Now a days, McDonald’s fries are not cooked the same way they were in the 70s-80s. They were always sooooooo good. I would rather have them the old way and just eat them sparingly than having the healthy (not so healthy) version that make now. I haven’t had fast food in over a year because of all of the preservatives. How is my a$$ so large compared to yours, Emmy? Love your videos! I live vicariously thru you!
