What does a Biblical Man look like? | Voddie Baucham

In this video, Voddie Bacuham talks about the bare minimum requirements for biblical manhood. He talks about the type of man you should become in order to get married. He also speaks about what a woman should look for when marrying a man. The three minimum things a man should do are:
1) A man must be committed to God-honoring labor
2) A man must be committed to the law of God
3) A man must be committed to prioritizing his family

I am so challenged by this message. Often I prayed for a godly woman so that we can grow together, point eachother closer to the Lord but now I realise that I am not even qualified to even think about dating and marriage. Gosh I'm so stupid. But I thank the lord because i often pray about unknown sins to be exposed. I am a slothful 25yr old (soon to be 26) boy not worthy to even think about dating. This message is gold because it shows me how unqualified I really am.

Don’t be discouraged about your present situation, oh if we were to see how much needs to change in us, I believe we would shrivel up and die. But brother take courage of the fact that your eyes are being opened and that one day this truth of being a man shall be true in you. Walk in the Spirit, so you don’t gratify the desires of the flesh 5:16

Young man. Don't be discouraged by the realization of where you actually stand in the sight of God. Many many people never come to this realization. Sing praises to God that you see what's really important now. You are being called by the Lord to serve Him in a mighty way and I know this because truth has been revealed to you by the Spirit of God. Get in the bible.. study God's Word. Cultivate a strong relationship with Jesus and then ask God what He wants you to do with the rest of your life to glorify Him. May God bless you and your family.

I married at 21. We went from paying for college, to getting paid to go to college because we were married. Now we are both teachers with schedules and holidays in agreement. We get to spend so much more time together than most people do. Yesterday August 17 was out 21st anniversary. We met in Spanish class when we were high school. I met her when I was 17. We didn't date. We went to church. Her family was almost always around. God blessed me to marry a virgin. He helped me to also protect her virginity until we married. I never realized until now how blessed our beginning was. This message is all truth.

This is truly a gem. I'm 24 and saving my virginity until after marriage. I've always hoped and still am hoping and praying to find a woman that shares the same value and restraint as I. I know the chances of finding another virgin in 2023 is low based on how much of a hypersexualized society we live in now, so I'm not going to turn down a Godly woman that isn't one. Never the less, I will still remain hopeful and put my trust on the lord lol.

May you delight daily in His almighty graceful merciful presence and be renewed in His love. Open up to the Holy spirit, pray and ask to be reformed, to change, to let go of bad influences, places, people, habits, thoughts, ways. Writing this to myself too, as a man who God is calling not to be removed from the world, but to be protected from evil. Tears of regret and self-pity? Won't change a thing in your life, if you stay like that! "And when he came to himself, he said ...I will arise and go to my father... And he arose, and came to his father." - Luke 15 Let me highly suggest you to delete the electro music you listen to, delete the online games you play, delete the movies you watch. If you don't change your interests radically, your life will keep going down the drain. "And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver." - Acts 19:18.19 Dedicate your life to Jesus Christ! If you ain't willing to burn and cut your selfish life style, you will keep spinning in circles. Christ is the key. Focus on Him, cause He also provides strengt and joy. He is the key for a dedicated and joyful life. "But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.. You need to ask God to give you wisdom, insight, discernment and understanding. The Tongue Is a Fire 3 Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a [a]stricter judgment. 2 For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in [b]what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well. 3 Now if we put the bits into the horses’ mouths so that they will obey us, we direct their entire body as well. 4 Look at the ships also, though they are so great and are driven by strong winds, are still directed by a very small rudder wherever the inclination of the pilot desires. 5 So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire! 6 And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our [c]life, and is set on fire by]hell. 7 For every [e]species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and creatures of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by the human [f]race. 8 But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God; 10 from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way. 11 Does a fountain send out from the same opening both [g]fresh and bitter water? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce fresh. Wisdom from Above 13 Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy and [i]selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, [l]there is disorder and every evil thing. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. 18 And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all mankind, because all sinned- for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not counted against anyone when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the violation committed by Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. But the gracious gift is not like the offense. For if by the offense of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many. The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one offense, resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the gracious gift arose from many offenses, resulting in justification. For if by the offense of the one, death reigned through the one, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. So then, as through one offense the result was condemnation to all mankind, so also through one act of righteousness the result was justification of life to all mankind. For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous. The Law came in so that the offense would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” ‭‭ - Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭12‬-‭21‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

Today’s culture is written in the Bible: Here we go; 2 Timothy 3:1-7 This is the true saying: if a man is eager to be a church leader, he desires an excellent work. A church leader must be without fault; he must have only one wife, be sober, self controlled, and orderly; he must welcome strangers in his home; he must be able to teach; he must not be drunkard or a violent man, but gentle and peaceful;he must not love money; he must be able to manage his own family well and make his children obey him with all respect. For if a man does not know how to manage his own family ,how can he take care of the church of God? He must be mature in the faith, so that he will not swell up with pride and be condemned, he as the devil was. He should be a man who is respected by the people outside the church, so that he will not be disgraced and fall into the devils trap.

I carried the pain of my childhood with me for over fifty years. So many years spent trying to alleviate the pain of abandonment, insecurity and low self-esteem through drinking, drugs, relationships and being a workaholic. So much time spent wondering what life would have been like if not for the sinful choices I had made trying to mask the pain. I'm not a victim. I never gave my parents that power. At 53 years old, I was newly adopted. And, my Father loves me so much that He allowed His only Son to die in my place as payment for my sins so that He could have a relationship with me. I still carry the emotional and physical scars as a reminder, but He has taken away the pain, forgiven me, and given me peace, hope, and a reason for that hope. May the peace and hope of God our Father be poured out on you.

Well that means I'm out for good then? Since my father died when I was eight and my mother been worker all her life spending many hours at work no wonder it's hard for her. Now I'm 37 and still single because this world is filled with wickedness so I never bother with having a woman in my life. Or perhaps I just don't belong anywhere in a church or the world I just don't fit anywhere? After seeing this video I don't know if I should laugh or not I'm I unqualified and worthless I don't know should I feel like a broken branch falling down and cast into the fire perhaps?

@@hyperfusiongear9050 brother, you are not worthless. You are not useless, and you are not a mistake. Someone probably had to tell you that for a long time. Also, I ask that you have an open mind for what I'm about to tell you, if you REALLY want change, you MUST be humble enough to see things from another viewpoint. Yes, this world is wicked, but it is also good. Think of it like this as we speak there are millions of babies being born, concieved, held and treated with care. Millions more committing random acts of kindness with NO expectation of return. Someone somewhere just got a 100 dollars with no name attached. Someone just let a homeless man sleep in their home to give him a place to stay for the night, and someone is currently playing catch with their son. The harsh truth is, the world is ugly because YOU chose to view it that way. It's not like the negative does not exist, but you can still see the good that can come from even the most evil things. You CAN be a father, but before you go doing that, get some therapy. You have a bunch of deep seated issues and trauma that can only be solved if you take the first step. Finally, if you don't want therapy, I am a firm believer God heals all wounds. No, I don't mean going to church once a week and seriously expecting instant results, I mean a constant companionship with our father in heaven, and your traumas will be healed. Once again, because no one will tell you this probably, you can be a father and you have to believe that you WILL be a father, you just need to step into the role God had prepared for you your whole life. God bless, have a great life🙏

A drive in the country going to a park those were our treats. I was onboard with the message until around 32:00. The world may have their reasons for delaying marriage, but so does the Bible. "Prepare your work without, and make yourself fit for the field; and afterwards build your house." "If any man does not provide for his own, especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." The reason a committed Christian would delay marriage would be to ensure they were financially, mentally, and morally prepared to take a wife before even sticking their nose in that direction. Anything less is a sin of irresponsibility. Marriage isn't about us. It's not about quelling passions. Eros doesn't pass the 1st Corinthians 13 test of love. Only agape, philo, and storge do. I'm not trying to be like the heretics that Paul spoke of, who forbid people to marry with no legitimate reason. But if a man recognizes his own failings and how bad of a husband he would be, he has *no* business even thinking about a wife. It's great that Voddie was there when he was 20, but 99% of American men aren't. Marriage is about what you can do for her, not what she can do for you.

Yes, this Pastor is very inspiring. I thank God for the wisdom that has been given to him. It is also our responsibility as Christian women, who once lived like lukewarm individuals. Yes, we went to church twice a week, living as sinners. We have much work to do, teaching young girls that their bodies are temples, using the vocabulary of the Bible, letting them know that they are committing fornication, when they have sex. The churches must marry these individuals, not allowing them to bring that behavior in the churches. Yes, and the who want to marry, must let that man know that there will not be any sex before marriage. Yes, read and do the whole book. 💁🏾🇺🇸

@@MugaluTheCarGuy Absolutely, they don’t understand what’s happening, even the scientists have no clue. They want to shut us Christian’s up when we tell them what the Biblical forecast is, yes they hate when we speak about the stories of Lot and Noah, telling them about the rainbow. They have no idea that Pride comes before the great fall. They have no idea of the curses that have come to their cities with drug addictions and homelessness, they know not that they are under the curses written in this awesome book. God is not dead. 💁🏾🇺🇸

I found it distracting too, at some point it was competing with the teaching. I enjoyed the teaching nonetheless.

I love this guys and I believe it is amazing the he is teaching his son important basics. God has to be the foundation. But I believe it is extremely important to allow your children to use ALL the gifts and talents God has given and teach them how to have character and integrity in that. Also many women do not measure money and sports as what they need in a husband. When someone truly excels in their gifts most times it shows commitment and discipline. Overall I understand what he is sharing.

This message is so incredible. From start to finish. I literally hung on every word. On the other hand I find it so devastating and heartbreaking because I don't feel there's any hope for me anymore. I gave the first half of my life to a man who said he was Godly but wasn't. We found the Lord at the same time but only one of us grew and walked with the Lord genuinely. Mental health tickets toll and we divorce 31 years later. He is now deceased. Died alone and lonely. Very sad. I am now 61 and feel that looking for a husband now is just about impossible. I just got through 2023 and what I've seen is literally devastating. I have NEVER been one to look at the athletic ability, bedroom performance, or billfold. I've always looked for the character of the man, to be Godly. Desperately Seeking one that was worthy of a child of God, but they were pretenders. I am no longer looking and have resigned myself to the fact that Yeshua is my husband and that's that. Living a life alone and honoring God and bearing the burden of daily life completely physically on my own but definitely held up by Yeshua. I am mourning what could have been. What should have been.
