Becoming a Man of God | Paul Washer

To be a man of God is to be a man of the Word.
The problem we have among Christian men today is that they do not know how to be a man of God.

I've been single for 1.5 years after being in a sinful relationship for 6 years. I just turned 29 and I started going back to my old church and getting back into a relationship with Christ. I'm also trying to surround myself with older, wiser, Christian men so that I can learn from them as commanded by God. Secondarily, I'm trying to learn all I can about being a husband and father for when that time comes. Thank you for this sermon, Paul. This is exactly the kind of teaching my heart and soul thirst for.

I am a quadriplegic, paralyzed from the shoulders down, and have been one for the last 51 years. On August 19, 1970, at the age of 18, a drunk driver turned into my lane while on my motorcycle, which subsequently broke my neck and severed my spinal cord. Every day my wheelchair reminds me of my mortality. This talk by Paul Washer hit it out of the Park; and it is something every American man needs to hear!

I've just turn 21 and I'm writting to you from Chile (south america) you can tell I'm not a native speaker but all I want to say is thanks for share your own experience about life and death. This generation of men lacks of wisdom.. We don;t talk and hear to old men anymore. We think we got all the cards and all figured it out. And the raise of Toxic things like Drugs abuse, alcohol, Unsaving sex, easy money, promiscuity, the lack of self respect and respect for what it used to be holy, untouchable, sacred. God knows how much we need A leader and He is the only way out from all of it. But also we need Humans like you. Men with experience and wisdom and clarity from what's right and what's wrong. What are the consequences of our actions and how to be the man we meant to be, we been designed to be. I ask god for salvation and Mercy for what we have become.

While raising our two children we would not let them watch anything on television or movies that were not PG or under until they turned 18. My daughter's school was going to allow her grade watch the movie Titanic. She was in 6th grade at the time and having seen the movie we told the school she could not watch it. When it came time for the movie showing the teacher sent my daughter to the library. She was humiliated and angry with us. A child should remain innocent as long as a parent can keep them sheltered from mamon that can influence them. My daughter is 31 years old now and still hasn't watch that movie.

@@jaybird4055very much so. Fellow believers should prod and urge each other to be better and conform to the Word of God. Unbelievers do not know the message of Christ, so to judge them is wrong. Say you help an unbeliever to stop a particular sin, what good will it do for that person? They are still without Christ and not saved. Judging them benefits nothing for the glory of God, sharing Christ with them gives them a choice. As believers, we have a duty to live as Christ calls us to live, not as the world or culture would tell us.

"'But I'm not a missionary, I'm not a preacher.' If you're in this church, you know better than to use that language." This just struck me as awesome because I believe that statement represents something fundamentally wrong with the Church today. That statement represents a standard and expectation of accountability; a culture of behavior that is working towards being more like Christ. The Church has gone so long catering to the newcomer in hopes of keeping them. when it's the standard of the Lord that either draws people in or it doesn't. But when you have believers sold out for Christ the lost are pursued.

I don't generally like hearing Paul washer speak, but I found myself in a really dark place as a man with not much hope. I feel broken beyond repair. Childhood neglect and trauma have made me weak, afraid, and disconnected. I feel abandoned, and alone. Unable to fulfil my god given task that I was sent here for. I want to be a real man, but I'm not strong enough. My family and friends have broken me where there is nothing left. I tried to do some self improvement and get off porn and work out and eat everyday, but.. it only worked for so long. Then I realized that the guys I was following aren't leading me to God, even though the intentions are good. Anyway. I'm lost. I feel too ashamed to go to church. I feel too scared to enter into a relationship, but I am absolutely terrified of being alone. I haven't prayed in at least a month. I feel like my friends secretly hate me. I haven't been to therapy in two months, and I felt like it wasn't working much anyway. I don't know what to do.

Just as an FYI at the top right of the red subscribe button you'll see 3 horizontal dots. Click on it to activate the drop down menu and then click "Open transcript". The transcript should open on the right hand side. At the very top of the transcript section you'll see 3 vertical dots that allows you to toggle off the time stamps. You'll notice the lines of text do not flow and need to be edited. Fortunately there is a fix for this. You would need to download and install Visual Studio Code (free editor that you could download off the internet). Once installed you could create a new page and copy and paste the transcript in it. Once you save the page the format will automatically flow like regular sentences and you won't have these annoying point breaks. It's very straight forward but if you need any help just drop me a line here. Hope this helps.

I am a man of God, God made me that way because of the horrible situations I was to face. However, God used me in awesome ways during these times. I can reach into heaven and get anything I need to serve God in love, deliverance, punishment, and healing. No lie, it's a hard job and duty to walk as the disciples did, and I have not turned my back on God. Not everyone can get a man or women of God, only those who know for a certain that God is real, holy, powerful and willing. With nothing but complete faith, trust and boldness can I be this way. Facing death, violence, depression, Satan, and witchcrafts. No one signs up to be a Man of God. God chooses those to recruit. I do believe that Iam one of a kind on this earth with a humbleness and praise to the father, the Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

We recently splurged and bought an indoor antenna for our TV. There is a channel that shows everything from Wagon Train to M*A*S*H. The episode of M*A*S*H featured father Mulcahey distressed and seeking counsel from Alan Alda's character. Alda was the womanizer and drinker, and gambler, and fool. I could see right through that attack on Christianity a mile away. Returned the antenna, the next day. TV is finished for me. There's nothing fit to watch. Touched by an Angel was too weak. Even the new program, The Chosen, isn't true to the scriptures and isn't recommended by anyone. Oh well, I still have my Bible! Hallelujah!

After seeing him preach in person among a smaller setting on a Sunday morning his teaching and preaching is much more impactfull. Because now I know he is genuinely humble and a godly man. Would love to be mentored by him.

I am 72 years old, divorced of my wife since the early 2000's, and this message kills me. Take heed you younger men of which he speaks. Oh that I would have grabbed on to it many years ago, and lived it then to my end. Praise you brother Washer! Praise be to God!
