Subscribe and hit the bell to be notified of new episodes in this series! I don't normally recommend this pace of overland build but I have a pretty good idea of what works for me and I want to get back to showing you what's out there!
You should add the costing on each item you add/replace ok the car. That way we can manage our expectations. Love the show!!
Love the gone in 60 seconds intro, congrats on the new Land cruiser. Was happy to see you on expedition overland. Keep it up!

Thank you! Love Gone in 60 seconds! 😉
I am so envious of the quality and variety of cool Toyota trucks you folks get outside the US. I know that's not a cheap truck but I'd rather pay the money for that than the Tundra or posh Tacoma trucks we get here.
Congratulations Christoff! Glad to see the Fortuner made a suttle appearance in the video! She is in good hands

Super excited for the new series🔥
it's brilliant!!!
Awesome! Cant wait to see the rest of the build. Congrats! Hi from Kanada
Brilliant. I love your channel up here at the equator. I have so many questions. Could you explain your reasoning for picking this vehicle? What does it bring over what you had before? What other options you considered? I have so many questions? I think you could have exploded each chapter (even perhaps into an episode). For instance the suspension choice you made, you mention load considerations, what are they? What is the target load you are working towards that then informs suspension choices? Are you going to upgrade your brakes? Well done and congratulations on this new chapter in your overlanding experiences. Thankyou for sharing with us.

Exciting times! Whatever the purchase... as long as the vehicle doesn't have too many electronics (or overbearing sensors) and is not trying to squeeze 500ķw from 2.8L engine, it should be just fine. I look forward to the Big Reveal.

Interesting choice, thought you might go Troopy. Do the spotlights affect radiator cooling much?
@GetOutGO
3 ай бұрын
I had a Troopy before (for about a year). The problem is you only get it in the 4.2 1HZ locally and it is dog slow! If they had it in the V8 locally I would’ve considered it. There are loads of 79’s with the Lightforce Genesis and I haven’t seen any complaints.
My bet is on a 300 series land cruiser

200 series
What will Christoff choose… In the rugged South African land, where dust and dreams intertwine, Five mighty Toyotas stand, each with its own design. First, the Land Cruiser 200, a legend bold and grand, Roaring through savannas, conquering every strand… Next, the Toyota Prado, nimble and swift, Tackling rocky trails, its spirit ever uplift… The Fortuner joins the convoy, sturdy and true, Carrying memories, as golden as the sun’s hue... Ah, the Land Cruiser 79 Series, rugged and raw, A beast of the wild, defying every flaw… And last, the trusty Hilux, a companion tried and tested, Through river crossings and mountain crests, it’s always bested. Now, guys, the guessing game unfolds, Is it the 79 Series, or the Hilux that he holds? But in the end, it matters not the badge or name, For overland adventures await, and that’s the true aim. May his wheels spin freely, under the vast African sky, As he embarks on journeys, where the heart and horizon lie. So raise a toast to his new wheels, with laughter and cheer, For it’s not about the model-it’s the road that draws us near. Cheers to your new wheels Christoff! May it be a…. Hilux!!
Which is better for overlanding, petrol or diesel vehicles ?
@GetOutGO
2 ай бұрын
Petrol is actually a good option for international overlanding especially in developing countries where fuel quality is poor. A petrol vehicle is also usually cheaper overall but usually lacks the range and low-down torque of (some) turbo diesels. It is also difficult to get hold of petrol in some parts of the world and diesels usually have better range. I prefer a diesel personally (but I always install a diesel pre-filter)

At R1,5m (for the base model), it's definitely not one of those... I really like the concept but their pricing is nuts.

@GetOutGO
3 ай бұрын
Ons het dit al probeer, die probleem is dit is net te hoog so al wat n tak is vang en hy breek uiteindelik.
Question, why did you go for petrol and not diesel?
@GetOutGO
3 ай бұрын
It is a diesel, the 1VD-FTV 4.5 V8. The petrol is a V6. I prefer this diesel for its low-down torque
