Been watching every episode on this rig. Much love for you, your channel and rig. Its already iconic in the 4wd scene and you have easily dominated the rankings for the best landcruiser builds going around, and becoming notoriously known as the bloke that builds the best landcruisers around.

As someone that’s recently built a patrol (m57 swap), I’m more than happy to help support the channel by watching this cool rig being built and keep the cost down!!

With your help the man saved a lot of cash..😂😂 I
Thanks, Sam, and everyone involved in the building of this it's absolutely over the top and not something I'd want to drive or own, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it being built. I had a figure of #250K plus in mind for the build to date. Cheers, peeps bring on the next one
considering people spend 250+ on decked out 79 series this doesn't seem too bad

bruh I have a 70th anniv 79 series and I felt that one personally 😂
Defiantly have to say its the honest 80 in Oz and great you have some solid support from sponsors. Its also made absolute awesome content that hopefully pays off. End of the day the 80 is a complete weapon mate well done, and thanks for bring all the content to us mate 👍
I’ve stopped at the 2 min mark to say your welcome mate , we love you and your content and being a big guy myself your weight loss is also inspiring me to get off my arse and fix it . Thank you for being your self and not a copy paste you deserve all the good that is coming to you .cheers
I’ve got a lot of time for a guy that is honest about what he is doing. Well done Sam, respect mate. 👊🏽
Love the transparency and honesty of this episode
Awesome work Sam. Great to see you in this happy space
Dude this is sooo sick!!!
I really appreciate this video love your honesty mate! Deserve it! You’ve worked hard for what you’ve got!!
You're doing a great job Sam. I tune in every week for your episodes 👌

Had a look at this unit today at the show and quick chat with Sam. It's an awesome looking rig.
No.1 rule.. never add it up 🤣
Love the build series Sam! Cheers from the US 🍻
Looking forward to seeing the vids of the beast in action on some tough tracks.
Thats not to bad considering how it turned out definitely the nicest and probably most capable 80 in oz ❤ Keen to see more and this beast on the track's awesome job sammy u legend 👌
Love your channel and content Sam‼️would love to have a weekend out on the trails with you guys‼️ keep up the amazing work in your vids 🇬🇧🇬🇧😎🤘🤘
not sure if i love or hate this video! makes me think about how much I already sank into my own money pit! An old disco 2 on portal axles, 37s, hutchison miltary beadlocks....and the list goes on....and its far from over ! (its the green disco in my last vid on my channel) But at the end of the day its all worth it cause I love it !
That 80 got me hooked. Every episode has been brilliant to watch. I wonder how long the stock gearbox is going to last.
Puts it in perspective. But what an epic and one of a kind machine you have now!
Totally worth it mate good on you ❤
seen ya at the Melbourne 4wd show and absolutely love the way this car turned out gotta be the toughest and best looking 80 out!

Thankyou my man 🎉
its pretty much a landcruiser shell and motor on a Sam Young body. In my opinion this is the coolest 80 in the world man. As Mat Armstrong would say "Hard work beats talent". Despite your wallet hurting, you deserve this man.
Insane definitely drawn inspiration for my own personal build
Well said, mate. I am proud of you and don't listen to the haters. I love it, and 200k well spent 🙏👍👍
Great content Sam, it’s only money! We cant take anything with us when we go, but if we can enjoy what we experience in life it’s a win in my books. Good for you. Some gamble, some golf, some holiday, but like myself you spend on your car. There’s no judgement here guys. Don’t be a hater, be a congratulator.
now for what all of us want to see. go and wheel this beast cause you deserve it, I can't wait to see you out there and shake your hand. you have certainly earned my respect and I hope I can do something like you have one day. maybe with a bit less coin tho
You forgot to make sure that you put a lot of emphasis on the anti theft device and cost of that. Love the build great breakdown etc cannot wait to see it being thrashed
Omg, absolutely love it 😂
Happy to help, can't wait to actually receive the shirt though.....
been watching this build, i thought the cost would be 220k plus, money well spent Sam it has been an awesome build and a lot of fun to drive👍
Haters will hate brother keep up the great work up and up from here killa work 💪 👌 💯
If you wanna build beast you gotta spend like beast.. you've nailed it Sam.. 👏 👌 🙌 keep on the good job.. 💯 💶
Honestly think 200k is very good for the results. Keep it up you and you team around you are making some epic content.
Sickest build on an 80 I’ve seen! Please bring it to the USA
Nearly as much as my mobility scooter i had at the Sydney 4x4 show. Not keen in swaps are you 🤔. Haha. Nah good effort and a brilliant build sam. Cannot wait to see it getting out and about. Hats off to you.
Amazing built, can't wait for it to be tested in real world, rock crawling, on the beach, muddy tracks and all, flex test and all, hard work paid off
Would love to see this 80 hit the deep mud in Tasmania
Keen to see it wheeled!
Would love to see a video on the process off engineering
and yet many people say youtube doesn't pay well, Sammy boi and this weapon of a cruiser says otherwise. Yeah, a lot of help comes from sponsors but you can't get sponsors without a platform to give the sponsors exposure. Epic sh1t man, all the hard work has paid off!
Better spending it on something ya love then puttin it up ya nose or pissing it down the rain. You've done well and it's come a long way . End of the day you can say I built that and it makes ya happy .. keep The good content coming 👌
Just bought a 94’ HZ77 with 243,000km for $36,500 USD. It needs no work done, but the fixings I want to get are going to get pricey and I can see myself getting a similar outcome of price when I’m done with it. Tools have been the most expensive part so far since I’ve never worked on a car before.
The price of things in Australia is insane!!
Hahaha seen every episode 😂 ❤ U better drive that beast for real not just baby it or worse road it 😂🎉❤
I love the honesty and the involvement i feel as a watcher and subscriber aye fucking weapon of a build

Wow, makes my latest purchase seem reasonable. And I can live in mine, head off road and go fishing.
The best 200k you can blow...80 is a beast, better use it and this time, dont lose it 🤘 You have no excuses, now Sam, no 70s, Fo Defender, 300, yank truck or even a Mighty Nissan is goona stop the Naughty 40/ 200k, Tylers on his 3rd engine on the GQ, prob Aussies most expensive GQ, so let her grip and rip mate🤟
I couldn’t imagine the IOU HD auto had after the last rig was stolen from the shop
… I missed the price for coil towers from Blueflame Automotive? Considering that are not cheap they are part of the main built. Project looks great ❤. Built for a content on KZread and some prices not available for average person. Good quality cost a lot of money in Australia. 😊
TIME TO WHEEL THE DOG LETS GO BABY!!!!!
Bros got that unlimited money glitch 😂 sick 80 thou 👌🏽
Most think this could be built on an aprenticeship income. Good on you for not hiding the costs. Is it insured for 200k? Club4x4?
When he said $75k I went oh that’s not that bad for that, then he said $202k then I went ooooooh ok ok, that’s a bit bad 🤣🤣🤣
Will it actually get to see the tracks? All worth it if it gets to do what it was built for.
i just hope you have it insuranced accordingly as an great build loved it

Car like this would never pass engineering mate. Australian nonsense rules.
are you gonna do a gu rear end to fix the track diffrence and strengh
@samyoung4x4 OLD OWNER here sexy rig, love what you did to the car. Glad she went to a well deserving home.
Or you could have just bought a GQ/GU add a turbo, front locker, winch and big tyres on some Sunraysias and end up somewhere in the $20-30k range. But thanks for being honest and explaining how much it really costs to make a Cruiser capable and reliable.
Hey does anyone know if the bars protecting the rear wheel arches legal in nsw?
insane.
great vid, can you do a vid breaking down your youtube/sponsor money, obviously its not 200k per yr on a 53k sub channel, but curious as to what it actually is.
Where did u buy the headlights
When do you use the nitros ? Off-road ? Or are you racing cars on the road Will we see this thing off-road ?
Aww Sam. Cost more than a, house aww maan. Ur a supa dupa big huge ledgend. Xxx. Go 4 gold maan. ❤❤❤❤😂😂😂🎉😮😮

Question. What amount is it insured for?
Tbh this seems better value for money then these crazy 79s with decked out canopy’s etc costing like $300k

Impressive that you got an 80 series for 10k anyway!
I stumbled soon this channel. Who are you? I’m showing this video at a homeless shelter .. everyone’s laughing their asses off,😂😂😂
sustainably recycling old cars defs the way to go lads
I’d rather have that 80series than any modern 4x4 vehicle. Hence i’ll never sell my 04 GU coil cab ute Td42ti that i bought from new, it’s just been so reliable. I hope ya keep this one safe & alarmed, locked up, tracking device, immobilisers, pedal locks, what else?.
It’s only money Sam and it’s put you on the map and a awesome promotion vehicle and can I hear tax deduction 😂😂
worth it. f the new cruisers unless you were going with a new 79.. build on that would be 100k usd
This thing look bloody mean R.I.P to the chopped 80 but this thing is sick bro
Are you going to wheel it hard or baby it?
I thought you were gunna say “I’m no mathematician… but I worked it out with a pencil”
How much is it insured for tho?
Poison ya weeds mate 😂
Bro my wifi is soo shit and I got first
Do like your complete honesty recommending people dont spend 200 on a 80 series 🤣😬
Worth every penny ❤❤❤ better than 79.. is this sponsored or your own money ? Majority
It's taken me a bit to enjoy your content but 1 thing I can say is your a funny cunt and you work hard (massive props ). If this build came to 200k, it would for sure cost you minimum 100k out of your pocket and for you to do this after losing the 40 is phenomenal. Pat yourself on the back because you deserve it for this dedication cobba 🤙 your a better man than most for what you have done ❤

Well.. Respect the honesty. As ridiculous as this is, people actually spend more on 79's that are still shit at the end of the day. Everybody, the most important trick to 4WD's, is picking the right one for your needs. Don't SAS a Hilux to rock crawl, don't buy a 79 to tour, etc.
You should build a drift car and go drifting with Sam from builtnotbrought
with 1000+ hp with all the good part on this car.its worth it.
7K for the wrap do you wish you had of spent a bit extra on a full inside and outside respray?
