Studio One has the best ecosystem hands down. Presonus makes all the hardware: Interfaces, monitors, production controllers, daw controllers, mics, etc. And all the software: DAW that includes endless producer packs, tutorials, apps, mastering software, live performance software, etc. Everything is closely integrated with each other. Everything just works, effortlessly. Seriously, these guys have to at least try Studio One for a couple weeks. These hot takes would be so much better.

I second this. Studio One has changed everything for me.

"Out of the box" Logic, Cubase, and Studio One... You can do everything you need in those DAWs without having to pull up another one to do something else.

Bro…Courtney was literally the quiet marriage counselor towards the end of this episode Lmfaooo. Dev and LJ were getting hypeeee over that damn mbox convo AGAIN hahaha. Devvon had his first parent moment when he pointed to his ear and said “LISTEN” 🤣 I do the same thing to my 3 year old. I was like OH SHIT devvon just had a dad experience LOL.

Can't sleep on Studio One's ecosystem either--it's great! It's great from the fat channel plugins, faderports (pretty sure I've seen the Io 24c station on HMD lol), interfaces, ATOM pad controllers, microphones, monitors, and headphones. It's great quality and a wonderful start for people just getting in. Most people will upgrade, but it's not terrible if you don't right away. I'm definitely happy with the Presonus ecosystem--I wouldn't feel like I'm missing much if I had to stay within Presonus ecosystem.

Facts and LOGIC are the REASON I use FL. I wish I had started with fl STUDIO ONE, but I was late to the gang and started with 9. It works like MAGIX! It’s easy to use for beginners, but it also has a lot of PRO TOOLS for people who are more TECHNICA with AUDIO. Just wanna say, if you’re not SHURE about what DAW to get, just know that with FL, you will be ABLE-TON make a ton of music that won’t make you sound like a “GARAGE BAND.” So what are you waiting for? CUE that BASS! Oh, and great podcast btw. CLA-ter!

STUDIO ONE IS THE TRUTH💪

I would say you can do everything in every major daw, just that some things you may have to find workarounds or it may take more steps in one than the other, but I think you can get to the end goal you want in all of them if you are skilled enough. I’d say akai has an ecosystem. Stand-alone Mpc’s can also be used as controllers in other DAWs but integrate so seamlessly with the mpc software they also have plugins and sound packs/expansions. You can also use other 3rd party packs within the software and 3rd party vsts in it.

12:30 Metro, Zaytoven , Honorable C NOTE etc , be using mpc as their main daw for beats , I be on the mpc standalone then bounce out into luna for the summing , tape, n other plugins

Let’s be real… Apple purchased Logic and it became a part of the Apple ecosystem. Apple purchased Beats by Dre and it became part of the Apple ecosystem. Protools falls under the “Avid” ecosystem. Avid has plenty to offer from their ecosystem. Logic still top tier.. my favorite DAW and probably the only one I could or would even try to do “everything” in. Production, mixing, mastering, atmos…. It does them all, I’d say, equally as well and it doesn’t do any of them badly enough to make me avoid using it.. so if I had to choose one, it would be Logic..

I'm Reason all day, but I'm flirting HARD with Ableton!! That said, FL dropping crazy features in Beta right now.

I’ll be honest. I’ve been super tempted to invest in getting gear from native instruments and have everything from them. I’ve been using kontakt like a ton! I I see that their midi keyboard work seamlessly. I minus well get a native instruments setup and work in their ecosystem.

Pro tools has carbon which is fully intergrated with pro tools. They also have playcell which has that snap to key function or mutes the notes outside of the scale or key of your song

I agree with LJ. If the eco system sucks meaning you can’t at least simultaneously pair, run,use, or switch between two or more items seamlessly… is it really an “ecosystem?”

I use reason 12 and pro tools both great more fluent in reason for beats want to learn mixing better in protools but they both do everything but reason has ssl mixer built in

It would be nice if PT plug ins were vst ans au accessible. The closest is AIR old school but effective

pro tools does have gear that speficially works with pro tools [avid s- series consoles] but they dont work with other daws but they do work very well with the hdio's interface and xmon interfaces, yes this is only in over the top studio cases but its still an ecosystem that makes monitoring and seperate headphone mixes amazing, it makes the goal of engineering 10000x better

yepp, pro-tools definitely has an ecosystem. carbon, the old school HD ecosystem; hell even Mbox was the only low end interface that worked with pro-tools back in the day too so to me that is an ecosystem.

Cubase 12 Pro has upgraded since Cubase SX, It has tools I need so far

Hoppin and skippin through all of em. Prod sketching in Logic and FL, Mixing in Logic and PT and a little Studio One is the side chick

br to be honest there is always something missing in all the daws , i wish one day we will get all the daws combine in one

I can't speak to what other DAWs have or don't have, but I know Cubase has A LOT to offer. Once I got more familiar with it, I realized how many 3rd party plugins I shouldn't have bought. 😂 It's all about personal choice though and generally, wherever you start, is usually where you stay. If it works for you, you winning.

Ableton has snap to key in the piano roll in Live 11.

Yo; Devvon speaking straight facts!! As a Pro Tools user for 10+ yrs they don’t do a great job making the community aware of what’s available or accessible!! We do have to crossover hardware/software wise in order to be Great. But the DAW itself is INCREDIBLY flawless for Mix/Master.. i know this is old, but AVID and Pro-Tools are an ecosystem. The MBOX was priority Pro-Tools forever ago when i was a kid, you had to have and avid interface to use pro-tools; it wouldn't let you use any other interface.

I make beats in Ableton Live, and record/mix the "song" in Logic. Also, there is no Avid ecosystem. Devvon was acting like that cat that always has to be right.

Cubase is my Go 2 really..its just heaven for me..

I love how everything that they talk about being introduced has been in Cubase for YEARS and not as plugins or modules but integrated in Cubase Pro. I only remember 2 instances where Cubase wasnt first, warping when Abelton came out in 2001 (Cubase got it in '04) and ARA support which Studio One beat everybody to. If you want a real DAW that runs on mobile devices Cubasis is the only option. I just think Cubase has so much in it that its intimidating. But theres a reason that Steinberg products are #1 for scoring 🤷🏾‍♂️.

I live piano roll on Fl studio but dislike all the clicking for everything else. I love Ableton workflow but I don’t like their piano roll. Logic I think need a whole new redesign. Bitwiig feels too experimental. I like Studio One but I haven’t used it as much.
