This video explains why posture is so important when it comes to avoiding vertebral compression fractures. Let me know what you think.
I'm enjoying your presentations so much .Having just been diagnosed with a T11 compression fracture , and craving good and sensible information for lifestyle changes ,etc , I stumbled across your site , and I've been not only captivated but well informed ....thank you Margaret.!
Thank you for that informative presentation. In future videos, I would love it if you were to show how everyday movements should be done in order to prevent fractures/compressions, thereby preventing "dowager hump". Also, it would be helpful to mention what types of exercise to avoid (e.g. bending forward, certain yoga positions, etc.) for those with low bone density. Thanks again!

Thank you. Great comment. There are numerous examples of"good movement" in the Exercise for Better Bones program at my website, melioguide.com.
You put medical services to shame, Margaret, that was such a helpful presentation. Knowing why posture is so important (preserving the trabecular) focuses the resolve. I have never heard such a good description of my compression fractures. It helps Xx

Thanks so much for all that you do! I'll check out your eebsite.
Thank-you!! I know I am not alone!!!
I just had a bone density test and was -4.6 in my spine. But what really concerned me is that I've lost 2 full inches of height. Does this mean I might have a vertebral compression?
Yes. I got it from COVID 19 quarantine i watched too much iPhone and computer. My neck is so tight and I lost my balance!
Thanks

Thank you 🙏
If trabecular bone fractures more easily, is that why osteoporosis drugs are not that effective...because they only make cortical bone denser?

Many of the osteoporosis medications are quite effective at increasing bone density, however, fractures can still occur because of poor posture or balance issues (leading to a fall).
