What Booth Said After He Killed Lincoln
Ойын-сауық
John Wilkes Booth certainly saw himself as a dramatic figure in history. Upon shooting Lincoln, he jumped onto the stage and condemned his victim in Latin.

I have to admit I feel so bad for Mary Lincoln (Abraham Lincolns wife) She lost her mother, her brother in law, three of her children, and her husband. She was also extremely hated for anything she would do. She also lost 2 half siblings. How sad, I hope the Lincolns all rest in peace!

He didn’t break his leg jumping from the balcony. Eyewitness accounts of Booth's hurried stage exit made it unlikely that his leg was broken. He did injure himself later on, though, during his flight to escape when his horse tripped and fell on him.

They didn't mention that booth got to the front of the balcony and jumped. But while in the motion of jumping, his foot got a little caught in the front draping of the theater box and he fell awkwardly on the stage and hurt his leg. I was just at Ford Theater in DC a week ago and talked to the historians there. It was surreal to see the actual (recreated) box that lincoln sat in and stand there.

@Labienus

New research makes a convincing case that the broken fibula resulted from his horse falling on him much later during the escape-a common break in that manner This would explain Booth's movements and hrs. of riding before Dr. Mudd set the break
