Assuming he would not be satisfied with the present state of Germany being a European powerhouse and all, he would just repeat what he did in the 1920s: Keep a low profile, slowly gather followers, and rise to power by addressing issues modern Germans are not satisfied with. People like to think that a man like him would never rise to power again but you got to remember he was considered a hero back in the early 1930s due to his policies. Granted enough people are dissatisfied with the government, he would easily adapt and convince people to think he is a hero once again.

@@holly-lb3ps But it wasn't his goal to make Poland lose it's independence per se. He just wanted to expand Germany and make the "Lebensraum". And he lived in the moment when he lost Poland. I don't think that it would bother him to find out that now Poland is indepentend instead of being under Soviet control. Existance of Isreael (maybe) wouldn't make him mad either, because the nazis themselves had plans to deport jews to a separate place for jews (their plan was on Madagascar). But when they lost the battle for Britain, they abandoned this plan and adopted the infamous cruel one.

I was referring to when the flag was officially used by a country. The German Empire was the first (true) unified German country under Prussia, using the black red and white flag.

As a German, it is fine. So North Rhine-Westphalia and Berlin are probably the most criminal states but also the most liberal, while Bavaria would probably be the most acceptable for many but would also be conservative, but safe. In addition, more and more people are becoming diffident and going to the left or right extreme. And you will certainly hear a couple times that people don't like/appreciate the democracy we have in Germany at the moment

Well , most of them would celebrate not having segregation at home, there nations free from being European colonies, the scourge of fascism and communism gone, the ability to love who ever they want. The advancement of modern medicine wiping out many diseases they and there ancestors fell victim too. Oh, and there hasn’t been any more wars to the scale those soldiers fought in 70 years, killing off generations of young men. Who from the 1940s wouldn’t love this time period?

Living in the 21st century is vastly better then the world of the 1940s We have all this technology, a live and let live culture (well, in the west at least), decent living standards across the developed world, ect. Sure, you might feel insignificant, but that’s how it always has been. We’re all just tiny characters in the story of the world.

1) They'd realize they'd been duped. 2) they'd probably stay oblivious as to whom duped them.

I think he would adapt quite fast. Much like in the movie that started similarly as this video. He might even rise to power again. He could quite well tell what the people wanted before he really got into what he wanted, you gotta remember that.

One German TV channel made a comedy, what if special called: "Er Ist Zurück!" (He Is Back). It covered the same theme but more out of the sight of him. I as a German have not seen it but a Friend of mine did and he said it was quite funny. I think I'll watch it sometime and I hope that it is also available in English.

It's based on a book by Timur Vermes, highly recommend, very funny and insightful.

The video spends several minutes talking about how free the press is in modern society and immediately after says that mein kampf would be nowhere to be seen in a library.

Maybe he'd team up with the Red Skull and Hydra and start anew.

He would shed a tear of admiration that Germany was able to hold Europe under its thumb via the E.U. in ways he never dreamed of.

No he would complete hate Germany having seded all sovereignty to the EU. Also, he wouldn't get amazed and shocked at technology that much. He had all the modern technology of the time. Now it's just a little more advanced. When people from places in the world where there is no technology first see it, they don't get "shocked and amazed". They just pick it up and use it.

This is the movie/book _Er ist wieder da_ ( _Look Who's Back_ ) which is presented as a comedy, but it's actually depressingly scary because it shows how he (or someone similar) actually could succeed in the 21st century despite people thinking they're different and more progressive now; it just takes a few of the right words. In fact, it would be even easier for him to succeed during the pandemic when so many people are screaming about "freedom", he just has to tell them what they want to hear. 🤦

If you wanna see a movie of this there’s a movie called “look who’s back” you. Can find on KZread. It was originally on Netflix but got taken down. It’s less of a “what would he do” and more of a satirical comedy about the German political scene in 2014

There is a movie (based on a book) that was made in 2015 called 'Look Who's Back' about this exact premise and it does it 10 times better

You say Germany is free from censorship then a couple minutes later he gets arrested for displaying a illegal symbols. 🤔

It does not mean there isn't a consequence for what you say. You can't yell "fire" in a crowded theater You can't paint hate symbols around town You can't use hateful slurs against people.
