    sociopaths and psychopaths are literally the same the only differnece is one is theorised to be created by trauma and one by birth. And neither of those are actual diagnosises. no doctor is going to diagnose you as either but something like antisocial personality disorder. On the other hand, autism is extremely similar to symptoms of psychopathy as well, to which sherlock shows more signs of being autistic than he does having antisocial personality disorder (psychopathy)

    Megan Fitz Well most humans have psychopathic tendencies and are naturally curious. It's a well known fact that all humans start off as psychopaths. Babies are A Morale and selfish, they will gluttonize and take as much as they possibly can, does not understand fair play, requires as much attention as possible and studies have said that babies will cry at night to prevent the parents from copulation so no more competition will be born. Also all first borns, absorb the most nutrients as possible from the mother, leaving all subsequent siblings at a disadvantage. This is fine however, as these tendencies are beneficial for survival when in an unknown environment. The parents teach the child love and caring and being fair by their actions. So we are all a bit psychotic, that is a fact. It's a required rememnant of our evolution to survive. But when all the tendencies are present into adulthood, it becomes a problem that affects social relationships. People watch these videos to see if they have all the tendencies still. Most do not. We can have many, maybe 3-4 / 5 but most of us don't have all and don't classify. Sometimes you have all tendencies (I actually do) but the levels are off (not extreme enough) so do not classify (also like myself). Most people like this are suspected of having the trait but no one is really worried because it's not strong enough to be toxic and is just weak enough that people find it interesting or charming for some reason (I suppose it appeals to their inner instincts?). Also this video seems to be describing a SOCIOPATH not a psychopath. The key being Psychopaths generally are NOT intelligent, are impulsive and lack foresight. They are destructive to themselves and others and lack the emotions to care about their fate or others. They act only to dominate and keep others under their thumb, while gathering every resource for themself without cost to them. They will like, cheat and kill if required and wear their mask as a predatory means and not to fit in like a sociopath that wants to. This isn't all psychopaths, most have barriers up that keep themselves in check but some fall victim to their own psychology and become killers or destructive elements in lives. Getting close to some psychopaths is toxic and poisons you. Psychopaths are also biological, there are brain anomalies corresponding to them. A sociopath is born from sociological influences. Not from birth but by experience they evolve into a sociopath. Usually a series of psychological barriers to prevent pain that end up being too strong and locking the world out (my case). Ie: Abusive and/or cold life that forces you to be the same to survive and is hard coded into you as you get older.

    Shawn Scientifica Actually psychopaths are the ones who are intelligent and planning. Sociopaths are the ones who tend to be impulsive. Very similar but there are minor differences. A psychopath will plan a murder but a sociopath may spontaneously do one.

  • @Fredable0

    @Fredable0

    6 жыл бұрын

    Shawn Scientifica yeah psychopaths are the intelligent ones. A sociopath is actually a person with antisocial personality disorder. Antisocial personality disorder is defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (the book which contains the diagnostic criteria for mental illnesses) as a cluster B personality disorder (those that are dramatic or emotional). While sociopathy can only be diagnosed at the age of 18 or above, the following must be present before the age of 15 for the diagnosis: Repeated violations of the law Pervasive lying and deception Physical aggressiveness Reckless disregard for safety of self or others Consistent irresponsibility in work and family environments Lack of remorse Psychopath Psychopathy can be thought of as a more severe form of sociopathy with more symptoms. Therefore, all psychopaths are sociopaths but sociopaths are not necessarily psychopaths. According to the Society for the Study of Psychopathy, psychopath traits include: Lack of guilt/remorse Lack of empathy Lack of deep emotional attachments Narcissism Superficial charm Dishonesty Manipulativeness Reckless risk-taking

    Joynel Bonet Delgado sociopaths are more likely to become killers psychopaths are likely to become CEOs lawyers ect it’s actually quite rare for a psychopath to be a serial killer surprisingly lol sociopaths can actually care for some people but it’s rare only people who are really close to them like idk a brother or best friend whereas psychopath don’t and can’t care for anyone sociopaths are more aggressive they are more unhinged explains why serial killers are mostly sociopaths whereas psychopaths are more calm more manipulative charming and more calculating so if a serial killer is a psychopath they’d do it way more carefully there’s more but that’s mostly all I know feel free too correct me if I got anything wrong

    How it is like to be in a family of an alleged psychopath, actually? Let’s just say, bitter. Namely, my grandfather, although never formally diagnosed, I believe was one. Here are just a few of his traits, lets start from his earliest years. He is one of 12 brothers and sisters, so I had the chance to ask several of them what was he like as a child, because he was preposterous in behavior towards his wife, children, and grandchildren. Here it is. As a child: Since birth, he was a very ‘cranky’ baby, in early childhood very rambunctious and in later childhood he would be extremely disruptive in class, had no regard for his parents when they wanted to rest and would climb the roof and make terrible noise. When he was given assignments, he would definitely do his utmost to avoid them. He was extremely good-looking, and charming. He had a temper, and managed to seduce my grandma (he saw in her a masochistic, submissive type), and married her after threatening he would kill her at gunpoint. In his marriage he was unfaithful from the beginning he had many mistresses, these mistresses ran on until old age, literally. At one point, he introduced himself to a woman (while on a business trip across the country) under a false name and profession, many believe he got this woman pregnant and then left, another time he was already planning another marriage even though he was already married with two children. Drank heavily and gave away a lot of money on his mistresses, leaving almost nothing for my grandma, aunt and father. Kept my grandmother under his thumb, wouldn’t let her get a legitimate job. When she was offered the job of a secretary, he went into a rage and hit her head against the wall. Another time he charged at her with an axe, only to get hit in the head by my aunt and knocked unconscious before he could do real damage. Multiple DUI’s, cruelty to animals. He lied like it was his profession, he made up so many stories, could one ever tell what was true or not? His imagination was quite something. Very full of himself. Out of us 5 grandchildren, he loved the oldest the most - my cousin, who is most like him in a way. Quite manipulative. He would very often only give her presents, but never to the rest of us. Frequently called my other cousin a monkey and would yell at all of us even out of the blue. Some members of my family refuse to believe he was a psychopath, but there is so much more about him that I could tell, these are just a few things now. To everyone out there glorifying psychopaths or thinking you're one, stop. If you think you are, you aren't. It really isn't any fun being around them, especially when it seems to run in the family.

    Your grandfather exhibits high level of narcissism and some psychopathic behaviour (from description). ALL Psychopaths are full blown narcissists, but not the other way around. To everyone: Do NOT confuse NARCISSISM, SOCIOPATHY and PSYCHOPATHY. THE VIDEO FORGOT VERY IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT PSYCHOPATHS: - They are NOT curable!! EVER!!! - They only feel TWO emotions ONLY: Boredom and Anger. If cornered, they quickly transform fear into anger. They "mirror" ALL other emotions from experience and by noticing others. All other emotions are mimicked and they can NEVER feel them. - They are master manipulators (masters in gaslighting and triangulation) - Psychopaths hate being called out as a normal person hates death!!!! They will fight you to the end of the world and consider killing you if you call them out. (If they can get away with it) - Psychopaths are MUCH MUCH more DANGEROUS than sociopaths...

You likely owe many of the things you enjoy in life to people who are some level of psychopaths. They are without a doubt some of the most brilliant minds in the world. While psychopaths are typically successful, sociopaths are alone and not successful in the work environment. Of course there are exceptions to both sides.

    in my opinion wiserevise, there are different levels of sociopaths. some are very intelligent, some are very dumb, some are in the middle. some can function in society, some can not, and some just get by. some sociopaths may feel empathy towards dogs and other animals, but have no empathy towards humans, etc. its not just one size fits all, it varies from person to person.

    This video includes a faulty definition of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. OCD is an anxiety disorder-the compulsions are continuously prompted by anxious what-ifs. Psychopaths are not capable of this emotion.

    I was about to come to say the same thing. Although I don't know the many different individual mainfestations of OCD in different people, as someone with OCD the description seemed misleading to me. It seems that in general there is a misconception as to what OCD is - it isn't the straightforward typical "simply being obsessed about somethign particular, such as pizza or cars" -type thing. It is indeed an anxiety disorder, and people seem to forget the "compulsive" part of it, which typically follow all or at least most of the obsessions. The obsessions are typically something like irrational/excessive worries/fears that impair day to day life (probably one of the most common manifestations is the germ obsession - being very reluctant to touch doorknobs/handles, shaking hands with people etc., and after if doing so, having the compulsion to immediately wash your hands thoroughly). Other examples of excessive worry could include double(or more)-checking everything such as if you closed your home door properly, the fridge, or making sure you took the key with you and counting it ten times that it truly is in your pocket, etc. Something a bit more extreme I once had myself was the irrational anxiety of someone spontaneously murdering me, since I thought to myself because that's indeed possible (albeit realistically very unlikely), I abstained from going outside at all, or if I did, I got extremely nervous at any people passing by, and became extremely alert as they approached. Then, certain types of rituals, such as counting are typically present, such as the irresistible urge to know the number of stairs, and so to count them as you walk them. The things described in the video in my opinion could be merely attributed to the cunning of such unfortunately vile individuals (for example stalking as to know more about the individual/potential abuse victim and his/her schedule to plan something sinister, and then the materialistic obsession, such as wanting expensive cars, wealth or whatever, that could be due to the lacking of typical social needs, and so that are instead replaced with what appears to be an excessive materialistic obsession).

    Satanic Warmaster - Correct. I have OCD as well, which is what prompted me to make such a statement. Lots of sympathy for a fellow sufferer.. It’s important for others to note it’s fundamentally an anxiety disorder. You cannot be obsessive without anxiety and have OCD. That’s just called obsession.

    Im not a sociopath or a psychopath but i do lack in empathy and emotion. Maybe because of how i was raised but i am improving. This year, i’ve been more open to my close friends and a little bit empathetic. 2 years ago, i’ve never (like never) said anything about my feelings (i also had trust issues). Which means i’ve kept it to myself. I just like hanging out with them because they are entertaining. Right now i can tell them what i want and my opinions. I just realized how it takes me long to be close with my friends and actually trust them. One of them was 6 years of friendship and i’ve just opened more to her this year then consider her to be my close friend
