Maybe Lebron and AD are actually part of the problem. You think Klay looked at the Lakers and thought it was a good situation. Old Lebron and inconsistent AD plus coach with no experience and the team trying to make it a show instead of wanting to win. The whole thing is a mess and not attractive to serious players like Klay or PG.

The problem is the front office trying focus on both long term and Win now. Right now its one or the other and Pelinka is finding that out too DAMN LATE.

I fully agree, its one or the other. It could also be a reason why we've seen no movement from us. If we're going the trade route we're effectively on the trade partner's schedule and they'll likely be waiting for other free agency moves. They also don't care about our timings either.

Darozan already was willing to take less. They couldn't get it done wit T Lue. They couldn't retain Carruso. They didn't set the roster up when they got Westbrook but then they turned around and held on to him when we had Buddy Hield and Myles Turner on the board. They took a championship roster apart. They couldn't get it done with Hurley Casey Klay Valiciunas. Still no coaching staff, and 3straight seasons below or at 500 while having 2 stars meaning bad coaching and poor roster construction. The Lakers are a mess and have been since Magic left.

Can you not win a negotiation?

The problem with the coaching is when you hire a coach with any experience, he brings a team of coaches with him. We have to start from scratch

How Rob and Jeanie still have supporters/defenders at this point is beyond me. They’re the same fans who scream “Blame LeBron and Klutch! We can’t accept that “our own” f’n suck.” I’ve been a fan for a few different eras. This is the most dissapointing becuase we’ve watched a LeBron/AD window with expectations come and go. I'm going to push back a bit by mentioning that the Lakers have a full playoff team on standby and ready to go. It's not like the Lakers are sitting there doing nothing with seven roster spots to fill. If they do nothing, they still have a quality team. Indeed, I'm looking at the possibility of a sign and trade for DeRozan and hoping that the Lakers stand pat. We act like not making major moves is a bad thing. How much do you wish that the Lakers had hung up the phone and not done anything three years ago except re-sign their own guys? I'm happy with this team. It would have been nice to have Jonas Valanciunas, but the need for another center is GREATLY, GREATLY, GREATLY exaggerated on this channel when one considers that Lebron's best position today is at PF which means Davis is going to get most of his minutes at center. I'm not losing any sleep over losing Valanciunas because Wood is fine as a backup center. The value lost exists, but is fairly minimal. Would it be terrible to keep Russell? I sure as heck don't think so. The Lakers need shooting and he's the best shooter on the team. Why in the world are we treating him like he's nothing more than an expiring contract. If I'm the Lakers, I'm giving him an extension and taking him off the trade market for at least a year. The guy wants to be a Laker, let him stay. Keep the team. Keep the assets until someone truly intriguing shows up. Focus on getting Reddick the assistant coaches he needs and start looking towards the season with anticipation and wondering which of the young players is going to make a jump.

The only reason why I see them wanting to move Russell is to open up some minutes for James Jr. As the Lakers are very heavy at guard right now. Also James Jr getting a guaranteed contract hurts the team as he takes up an active roster spot of the 15 available. Nobody wants guards though and what teams want are what the Lakers also want. Wings and Centers. I do agree and think the team is fine as is. If coaching had been the issue last season as many were pushing. Then Redick should easily take care of the rotation issues the team had given there is more than enough film to go back through over the last 2 seasons. Still have nearly the exact same core that went to the WCF. If the in game adjustments are made. Lakers easily make the playoffs. We'll see if letting go of Ham was the correct choice pending Redicks success.

And Valanciunas fell out because they were waiting for news from Klay. And again, I'm not losing any sleep over missing out on a marginal improvement in depth at center.

One problem with the Lakers that has been overlooked. They don’t respect draft picks or role players. I remember when the question was posed to Caldwell-Pope about what was the difference between the Denver and LA. Caldwell-Pope’s response was “I not hearing my name in trade rumors.” If you are anyone other than a star, there is not much stability in playing for the Laker.

This is embarrassing. As a die hard laker fan it makes me sick to stomach. Jeanie sale the team or fire Pelinka. Bring Magic back he got us Bron and AD.
