Why would the Lakers release news right before the first game of a Celtics finals unless they're confident of a favorable outcome? It'd be a horrible look for management if it falls through.
Hurley Just won back to backs. He uses a European style of basketball. Close to being an nba. Ncaa now does a near nba brand of play. He' a developmental coach. Good on defense & offense.
Edey is already too slow....he will not age well in the NBA & his size isn't enough to stop a Jokic (slow but agile) or Wemby (long & agile). The fastest & best athlete/rim protector on the board is Missi. He's pretty raw, but he can contribute now with his NBA-ready frame, incredible motor (Adem Bona-like), versatile D, lob threat potential & gazelle-like speed....he is the most athletic big (& possibly player) available in the 1st round. What I value in the guy is that he grew up playing soccer, which is great training if you want a mobile big. His incredible foot speed & hip mobility will allow him to guard multiple positions & keep up with (if not surpass) the new fast-paced NBA. If we are concerned about present & future, he is someone I wouldn't overlook or trade as a 17th pick. JMHO.

Lakers fans no matter what coach the Lakers get if they don't make a roster change the new coach is set up to fail. The Lakers coaching job is the hot seat that's why a lot of coaches turned down the job because of the pressure to win. Frank Vogel took the Lakers to a championship 🏆 he's gone, Darvin Ham to the Lakers to the conference finals and he's gone. Remember Darvin Ham rotations were very questionable but he was very limited based on the talent to work with besides LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The western conference is to talented for the Lakers without a roster upgrade and teams are constantly getting better. For example with top free agents that's available, the Lakers can be out bid by other teams to improve their roster. The Lakers is going to met the Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings who has the Lakers number. The Lakers roster is not competitive enough to beat elite teams in the NBA and especially in the playoffs. Despite of a new coach the Lakers will continue to be a play-in-tournament team if the roster is not improved. Yes you have have stop two players on your squad but it stills remain the fact LeBron James is the oldest player in the league. At stage of his career his body is taking a lot of ware and tare, his usage rate is high according to farther time. Count your blessings that AD was healthy throughout the course of the season but it doesn't negate the fact he's still a injury prone player. The Lakers didn't capitalize on this by making any roster changes to compete for a championship 🏆 and LeBron James window 🪟 is closing readily. Other teams like Dallas and Boston are making constant roster improvements that's why in their in the finals. We know that Denver can beat Minnesota proved that because they have a better roster and Minnesota was beaten because Dallas has a better roster than them. Remember to advance in the playoffs it's about roster matchups and who has a better roster to advance to win a championship 🏆😜
