So good to find ableton tutorials that revolve on electronic music thats off the beaten path. Would love to hear a breakdown on anything from the SVB KVLT Label, like Tzusing, Zaliva-D, 33EMYBW. Thank you!

Cheers for that gate on the granular sample tip! Sounds like something that would help me get close to what I've been trying to achieve with my electro house tracks that are more in the vein of Justice (Cross album) and some bloghouse stuff from 2008-2010

GREAT VIDEO Ken! I hope your rest was great. I think I missed a few videos because I'm making a diorama for my CD (old skool!) cover photo and I'm the only person working in my label's art department at this time. So few week's project has turned into months. When stretched out in your granulator, you can get all sorts of weird sounds for a rhythm click, or some sort of noise rise for a dramatic effect.

You gotta do a vid on Andy Stott! One of my absolute favorites. He's a master at fairly sparse techno while having HEAVY atmosphere and percussion. Luxury Problems lp is a classic, and his more recent It Should Be Us ep has this mixing/compression thats verrry murky yet airy. Major ear candy.

Your welcome! Hope you learned from the video!
no can really sound like her (Mutant, Xen) or Aphex Twin ( I Care Because You Do, Richard D James Album)... or Bjork (Vulnicura, Vespertine, Utopia, Homogenic), try to recreate the hit song of any of those albums, and you will probably go dead broke or waste months stuck on making a singular synth. To this day, still can't figure out what the hell that scratch is on the cocoon track xD. its why their fanbases are extremely loyal

Yup I agree. I don’t think producers should aspire to want be 100% like who they look up to. But really to learn and take inspiration from.

Arca lost me after stretch 2. Before that, his sound was ground breaking, the weird syncopation, the wild sounds he’d use. Now, idk. Just ambient noises and shit. I miss the hip hop influenced music of early arca
