Sarah Billy Joel wrote and recorded this song. The original Sax Player on the album was the legendary Phil Woods. I was 15 when I had the privilege as a Sax Player to study with Phil for 6 months. I went on to play professionally for 15 years and was always a huge Billy Joel fan! Take care.🎷🙏🏼🇺🇸

After many hits and songs it did end or at least for about close to 30 years!😃
For a different side of Billy We didn't start the fire!! 😃
One of the best ever.
I love the song, but I love it more because you're hearing it, seeing it, and enjoying it. I love you just the way you are
I love this song! Now, you should listen to him sing “Always a Woman to Me”.

I agree!
Yes, he wrote this. He won 2 Grammys for this song. It is on his album "The Stranger" which is considered one of the greatest albums of all-time.
I was 16 in 1973 when Billy Joel’s first album came out, “Piano Man.” (He actually had another album before this, but that’s a long story. No one got to hear it.) Anyway… So I’ve been pretty lucky, enjoying this musical genius for 50 years.
I wish they still made songs like this.
A great artist, a great song, a great performance, a great reaction! Thanks so much!!
It is a beautiful song! Yes a good relationship is based on truth. I had a man who loved me like that. I loved him the same. Flaws and all. Never attempt to change anyone. Find the one who is the way you want already and love them everyday. My love left 13 years ago too soon, 56 yrs old. Billy Joel was one of his favorite entertainers!

I am so sorry for your loss. He sounds like he was a wonderful person
This song makes me miss my late wife; we all tend to think things will last forever.... Cherish the time you have with your loved ones; time is a thief.

Great advice brother
Poor guy - The brother of the woman in this song, Joel's brother-in-law and manager at the time, embezzled.
Your followers have already answered the question, but trust me, we all sing this back to you for your reactions! Thnx!!
Sarah, you will love Scenes From An Italian Restaurant by Billy Joel! 🙏❤️ Thank you for your great video.
Billy Joel is a great singer songwriter & composer from the 70's-90's. He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time. The whole "Stranger" album is great. "Just The Way You Are" is my favorite song from that album. Other songs are "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)", "Only The Good Die Young", "She's Always A Woman", "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant" etc.
Try also, “Honesty” and “Uptown Girl”, both lovely.
do listen to "Vienna' by Billy Joel, and also Tell Her About It, She's Got a Way, Pressure, Keeping the Faith, River of Dreams....and Allentown.....I could go ON AND ON.
I would love to have your reaction to the one song the 5th Dimension performed, "One Less Bell To Answer"
Such a magnificent artist with a exceptional band. I sure you love and can relate to the words to this song..
Piano Man ha 100 gioielli ... Molte sono migliori di questa pur bellissima canzone ... Comunque Piano Man va sempre ascoltato e visto "live" 🎹👏Brava Sarah
I sing this song to my wife when i first came out. I just wanted someone to talk to .
Billy took this tempo too fast, it was slower on the recorded version. "Just The Way You Are" is the song that made Billy an international superstar. It won both Song of the Year and Record of the Year in 1978 at the Grammy Awards and was probably the most frequently played song on the radio in 1977. Millions of newlyweds played it at their weddings. Billy is playing electric piano here.
I think you would enjoy his 'Piano man'.
Have to watch "New Youk state of mind" live version. It is awesome!!!
Please do goodnight Saigon it's about the Vietnam war nobody ever does this song my father died in Vietnam best song means so much to me

I’m so sorry about your dad! Those stupid wars affected so many lives! I hope your life has been a happy one.
🏆🏆🏆🏆!
In the early 70s I listened to a weekly live radio broadcast from the Union Station nightclub in Memphis. That’s when I first heard Piano Man, Captain Jack, the Legend of Billy the Kid, all great songs from his up and coming breakout album as he played for a small room audience. I bought the LP immediately. Years later we had tickets to see Joel live in a 2400 seat auditorium. Only half the seats were sold, sparse turnout. Billy walks out on stage, shields his bulging eyes (a condition he had at the time) acknowledges the anxious crowd, and says, “Well, it’s quality, not quantity”. Then proceeds to blow the roof off with an enthusiastic, almost acrobatic performance. Six months later, Just the Way You Are is a mega hit and he sells out stadiums the rest of his life.
35 years married and I will always love her, just the way she is. "I love you just the way you are." I said this to my wife before I asked her to marry me. Times change, over the decades life have changed us, but I still love her just the way she is. We went to one of his concerts and when he sang this song I took her hand. His song flowed through you, awesome reaction.
Billy did this in concert when we saw in at Safe Co Field (it has a new name) several years ago. He played his ENTIRE Greatest Hits volumes 1,2, and 3 except for 3 songs. Oh, then we got to vote between a couple...I can't remember which ones we didn't hear to be honest.Oh, he threw in a few of covers too, being in the city of Jimi , Heart,etc...FABULOUS!!! His VOICE, unlike Elton & MACCA has HELD UP wonderfully! This in from 1977 but he sounds the same.
I love your reation to beatiful melodies, just melting like butter... Keep it up! I am just the same! May I suggest Visions of love, Mariah Carey?
Another great reaction! Suggestions: Papa was a rolling Stone By Temptations ( the 6:59 version thumbnail pink suite)/ Too much heaven By BeeGeed/ So many great dance bands like Temptations in the 60s/70s with great harmonies.
I love this song. Thank you for reacting to it and I’m glad you enjoyed it😊
In 1977 I was 14. I adore you Sarah.
I love you just the way you are! XOXO
All I can say is some German dude is really lucky. I love your genuine emotions during these reactions.
He’s sweating not crying
If Billy Joel recorded it then 99.99% of the time, Billy Joel wrote it. And yes, I did just make up that percentage but hopefully you get the general idea.
the longest time (original clip) - honesty - uptown girl (original clip) -it's still r&r to me - allentown..... other masterpieces u would hear and comment.....
Great Billy Joel author and singer. Now, have you heard Barry White sing this song? If not, please do.
I love your reactions, and Billy Joel is the GOAT. That said, I'm a little troubled by the defensiveness of this and some of his other songs--he seems to keep worrying that he has given his SOs reason to think he doesn't trust them, and he seems a little resentful that they don't get what a nice guy (TM) he is. This song, "It's a Matter of Trust," "Innocent Man," maybe others. So I feel like there's a back story we're not hearing where he isn't so sweet
He loved her just the way she was. Until he met supermodel Christie Brinkley, then she was out the door.

He wrote it for Elizabeth as a birthday gift. He has said her first comment was did she get the publishing rights too. I think the handwriting was written on the wall then that the marriage was doomed.
the best in the game!
