I actually also thought similar. You know the default settings for skirmish games have a relic victory? I once tried to gather all relics in a ranked RM and when i didnt get any timer, i was perplexed.

The great thing about watching a 750 elo player "play really well" is the fact that you can always ask the question, "ok, so what's their fatal flaw?" Because, if the answer was "nothing," then they wouldn't be 750 elo.

I'm not sure what your point is. You don't have to have a "fatal flaw" to be in (or even hard stuck in) low or mid elo. I've only seen the beginning of the video, but Blue is terribly inefficient in collecting resources and building houses, and he lacks awareness, doesn't scout well, doesn't plan well, doesn't seem to have any efficient-ish build order. He's just middling at the game, in every aspect. He can out-boom and out-micro (and I use the word 'micro' loosely here) any 400 elo player, but he's still not that good at anything in the game. No single "fatal flaw", he's just a bog standard low-mid elo player. Every single aspect of his game can be improved.

@@hylianchriss Yes that's true, but I think OP is referring to red, not blue. Red is the one who had the game in hand and didn't finish it. You could say their fatal flaw was not knowing how to close out a game properly.

It's more bizarre that red didn't send scouts out, given his scout rush opening. Also interesting that he built the three castles together after the mistake of the first two, that were sitting useless, not covering much ground.

If you're gonna drop a wonder you have to build it in the enemy's burnt out shell of a base to assert dominance.

Hidden Cup? Meh. Give me a Low Elo Legends Cup. It would be the pinnacle of competitive sport. These guys are insane, and that's why they're legends. What compelling drama.

It's more fun to watch because there is actual back and forth. In pro games whoever gets the first successful rush out just wins. There is no back and forth. The attacker just needs to keep momentum and they win by default. Red attacked and then immediately stopped his momentum, that gave blue a chance to come back here. That would not happen in a high elo game.

I tried to use this to fall asleep, but oh man one of the greatest LELs of all time. I was on the edge of my seat. ;)

The worst part was T90 missing the comment that the Cod Father was all about ef-fishency. 5:42 Everything else magical.

sometimes on black forest, for instance, you gotta chop those strangler trees because you burn through all your wood making palisade walls and don't consequently have enough to build your first lumber camp.

I binge watch this series just to hear T90 complain about straggler trees. There's a twist each time. Today's was "time is money" resaid as "WALKING IS WOOD!!!" I offer for future videos: Walking time should be chopping time Chop your walking time, so you can clock more chopping time If a woodchopper would chop wood, would a woodchopper just build a lumber camp already? Why hop and chop when you can chop and drop? Chop-chop! Stop, drop and plop your wood chop shop by the good woods for good wood. (Just a solid minute of WHYYYY?) Remember to take proper care of your villager health. Straggler trees combine the cardio of chopping with the endurance training of marathon running. Chinese pun: Worrying about straggler tree aethetics is fengshui (風水 = literally wind-water). Actually getting wood is xinshui (薪水, meaning salary, but literally firewood-water).

Love the talk about lower elo methodology. I am at the elo where pure build order into aggro doesn't *always* work, and it's *amazing* how many people were carried to 1k on the back of just memorizing a build order. Like Frank fast castle into knights, but you can *see* the wheels fall off if those first knights don't win the game.

The benefit of saving straggler trees is when scouts get into your base you can garrison in your TC and even while they patrol around the outside you can have resources to take. They are your backup trees

It's crazy to see the skill difference between a 750 elo player and a 1000 elo player. Where the latter will pre-wall their woodlines and make 2 spearman to anticipate a scout rush, while still managing his build order pretty well, the first one is stil trying to figure out why he can't go to feudal with only 1 dark age building.

The loss ratio between stragglers and lumber camp due to walking is miniscule[and as such on low elo it is less bothersome],especially since some people love to forget to refresh their lumby campies and let their villagers walk miles with their morning wood gathered from a tree Edit:// Blue went for t90 farms strat and started rebooming and turning game around,OP STRAT GG :D

i cant play poles, as a pole myself the villager voicelines distract me too much hahaha

Hands down one of the best most intense game i've ever seen. Great content!!

I recently started playing ranked games after playing AI for quite a bit. After 4 games I have 3 wins, I wouldn't have without T90. In the loss i got stressed out and didn't build the right counters, in 2 of the 3 wins I have the feeling my opponents resign to early

If red had just LOOKED at Spies cost, they would have known that red still had lots of villagers and was rebooming. Then maybe they would have felt some urgency in finding red's base to finish them.

Red has all the hallmarks of a player who rushes every single time and has gotten his opponents to give up. The problem is that he has no idea how to shift to being on the back foot and when the game goes long. Most of this gave me the impression that red was screaming, "why isn't this working!?!" when he durdles around and doesn't have a good idea of where the game plan goes next.

I always kinda wondered about that wonder. It's got the front of St Vitus, the turrets of the Cologne cathedral, buttresses more like Notre Dame, I think it's kinda like a mash-up of gothic cathedrals.
